Honda HHS Tutorial Video

Yesterday I was training with honda in some casuals with friends. I started out very strong, I was pulling off all my HHS almost perfect, but by the end of the night my execution seemed to get really, umm…sloppy. When I checked my inputs in the replay mode I realized that my fingers were running together.
So instead of:
:lp::hp::mp::lp::hp:

I ended up with something that looked like:
:lp::3p::hp:

So do any of you have any tips to help stop runny fingers? Maybe a certain way to position your fingers?

Or is it just my lack of strong Honda finger muscles? If so Is there anyway to stop my fingers from tiring out so quickly?

Forealz tho, dat shet works brah.

It is something that you are going to have to build up some stamina for. Always remember, even when you are not playing, practice doing HHS, make sure you are only hitting one finger at a time. You want to get it to the point where you can do it with out even having to think about it, you can practically do it in your sleep…

I dont have a system of my own… but I learned how to do HHS in about a week… I was constantly always pianoing my fingers, just so i can get the muscle memory down… and when I got a chance to play, I adjusted a little bit to get the timing right so the cr.jab will cancel into HHS… once I got that timing down, I adjusted the speed of my fingers when ever I practiced.

Relax your hand. Any time you tense up you slow down. Trying to force yourself when your hand is tense is what wears you out in the end. Practice slowly to make sure you have every single part of the motion down. If there’s any particular component that is giving you trouble, isolate it and practice only it. When you can do it slowly, you can easily speed it up. Also, rolling your wrist is a faster motion than moving fingers individually, so you can try using your wrist more to speed the motion up, as long as your wrist stays relaxed.

Just make sure that you don’t plink the last 2 inputs or you’ll get EX hands instead.

I found a easier way to cancel lp-> hhs.
Set up your arcade stick like this

Lp mp hp lp
Lk mk hk lk

If u piano roll starting with ur pinky on the far right lp, ull hit lp hp mp lp hp, thus allowing u to do it easier. I have lk mapped so that i can break throws better instead of streching my thumb back to it

Dude…you’re in Ottawa? Go check out the ottawa thread! Ranbat details are in my sig

Ok i will, tnx, add me in psn

If i could just defend my trusty 360 pad for a moment, uh wait i can’t the thing is a liability, what’s worse i’m completely reliant on the d-pad to the point where any characters who’s moveset relies heavily on dp motions is unplayable for me. Hasn’t stopped me from becoming the 113th best honda in the world according to the xbox live leaderboards mind you (bp=skill obv).

Just a quick bit of advice for all the pad honda’s out there, obviously there are numerous way’s to do jab hands it’s all preference i for one can’t use Jsian’s method to the point of reliability. So here’s my method i think it’s pretty fool- proof.

Step 1: Map your pad so all three punch buttons are on the left hand side of the 4 button diamond. HP on the top, MP down low and LP to the left.

Step 2: Position your thumb on the buttons so it’s only touching the punch buttons, then roll your thumb in a quick half circle motion - LP-HP-MP-LP-HP.

Step 3: Practice till you got it, obviously this might not work for everyone, but it’s my method and i can do it 100%. There are some drawbacks Cmk xx HHs becomes a problem depending on where you place MK. Ex will come out if you mash too hard as you will either hit the last two inputs together.

oh yeah guys by the way for those of you that have facebook i made a page on it called “The Gnosis Empire” i will have updates on things i have discovered in SSF4, sometimes well im hoping alot of times there will be videos and also a variety of other things people are just generally into and have lack of knowledge of. So if you have facebook please check it out also add me my user name on facebook is “Jago Margqulius shinszengate”

Advantages Plinking method: you can release the attack 1 frame earlier ie. Faster

When you want to use Hard Punch, you can press Hard Punch plus Medium Punch together.

When you want to use Hard Kick, you can press Hard Kick plus Medium Kick, of course you can press weak kick.

It can release one frame earlier.

When you want to reject throw, you can press Weak punch, Weak Kick plus Medium Punch.

Down forward Hard Kick can cancel into Headbutt or Super.

Left down backward move to Right down forward

It may release the headbutt more faster.

eg. downward medium kick into headbutt

Boxer release ultra 1: Left down backward and then move to Right up forward.

I think the theory is the same.

SAGAT: when they release fireball, they can press the punch twice to release fireball.
My frame tell me that it can release the fireball one frame earlier. It dont know it can work in ehonda headbutt, sumo splash or orchit throw or not.

OK… so I’ve finally been able to cr.jab xx HHS with some consistency in training (maybe about 65% of the time). Obviously the next step is to get it up to 100% of the time… but I’m not really sure how to best integrate HHS into my game. Before I learned HHS I would just down/back all the time and occasionally try to punish bad fireballs with jump fierce xx hhs.

Now that I’m almost done learning how to execute a new way to pressure people… it feels like I’m playing an entirely new character.

So… yeah, any tips on getting into that range where HHS is most effective?

Using the slide method with my index finger I get the jab fp.hands like 90 percent. Trouble is I cant seem to modify this method easily for EX hands.

So, does anyone have slide method tips for EX hands?

Being able to jab hands on command catches people off guard because they don’t expect a Honda player to do it. Obviously it’s good for pressure, especially in the corner. At mid range after neutral jump fierce I like to option select jab hands to punish wary players that like to “test the waters” with long pokes, e.g. c.MK. If they don’t poke, you get an empty jab so no biggie. Also, c.jab has deceptively long range…it’s my number 2 after far s.HK when inching your opponent towards a corner because of its stuffing power. Just don’t use it at every opportunity like I do (ha) and inadvertently perform HHS while your opponent jumps over you and leaves you wide open.

I’m sorry if that has been answered before, but I didn’t really find it here.

My HHS only comes out if I do it pretty slowly. When I do it fast, I get a jab and nothing, although the inputs are jab, fierce, dtron, jab, fierce.
What’S the reason for this?

And second:
When I’m doing the slide method, Honda always slides backwards. Why? ^^

My hands simply refuse to perform HHS using the standard fightstick layout (LP,MP,HP) in that order. I have to flip LP/HP. I can get it pretty consistently that way, feels a lot more natural for me.

you know your doing jab xx fp.hands correct when hands come out only if the jab connects with the other character. If hands come out on a whiffed jab, your doing it too slow.

Also, look at your inputs. fp.hands moves you forward regardless of the method you use.

For me, the slide method is the only one that works which sucks major league balls since its a bit sloppy in a heated match. I can do the piano inputs perfectly but just not fast enough.

damnit my middle finger is retarded or whatever it’s always out of sync keeps messing up my inputs GAAAH must practice more

I’ve been trying for about a year (off and on, of course) to piano key Jab into HHS. I just haven’t been able to do it (not even once). While I have a friend who pulled it off on his first try.

I feel like I’m smart enough where I could be a good Honda without it, but the Jab into HHS is really the thing that’s keeping me from picking up the big guy as my #2.

^Yeah, same here.

Anyone have tips for doing c.jab > HHS? The way I’ve been doing it is: (cr.lp > st.hp > st.mp > st.lp > st.hp), although I’ve yet been able to actually do this even once.
