Honda HHS Tutorial Video

What does it matter? If one method is more comfortable than the default for someone, and completely legal, why not use it?

This irrational contempt is really fucking stupid.

Get out of my thread! We only do HHS one way here! This is a Karate Dojo!

mr. snk i just want to say thank you for this amazing video. because of this vid i am officially a hands monster doing that mr. snk and mike ross shit. if you could do me favor and break down the juri match it would really help. destructive gave me some pointers but i just want to see your view. thanks again for taking me from ashy to classy those hands feel so good.

lol if your just doing jab into hands for meter you have to do it slowly, i think that is ridiculous just because i can 123 13 faster then the game ALLOWS… its still 5 inputs ughhh this game

do u mean like if u are whiffing the jab? Sometimes I’m doing this REALLY fast just while my honda is standing around just to get practice in training mode. I see the five inputs appear, yet the shit doesn’t come out… this jab hands thing really pisses me off. At least my lack of consistency with it.

ya if your hitting air and crouching it has to be done slower then i like

I actually prefer that. I use it as a sort of hit-confirm to keep hands from coming out when I don’t want them to. If you want to to whiff hands for meter or baiting or whatever, switch to standing jab.

Guess I should’ve posted this a week ago when I made it…here’s my tutorial for DS3 hands. I’ll post some matches up with inputs when I get a chance.
Edit: Forget about the Blanka segment, that part was pretty crappy. I kept doing link combos instead of plain old jab electricity which is why half of them didn’t connect. The one thing I’m glad came through the vid was the hit-confirming to super…once you get hands/electricity down it’s like your muscles go on automatic with inputting the super.

I prefer jab strong jab strong fierce or fierce strong fierce strong fierce.

Or turbo mode.

^ Turbo Mode is for losers. <_<

I am going to give this slide method a shot.

Forgive the noob question here, but I couldn’t find Sid’s post on the “big toe” method. Is it different than CR. Jab XX 12313? Even that method, I’m having trouble w/myself. If that’s the standard, I’ll keep working on it, but wondering about this big toe method also

I can’t get cr lp xx hands >cr lp xx hands to work.

Is this a character/position specific thing? I was testing it on a standing ryu in the middle of the screen and in the corner and in both situations the second cr lp would whiff. I checked the combo thread but i couldn’t find a list of what characters it works on.

After the HHS am i supposed to walk forward before i input the cr lp link?

This link is incredibly easy as it’s about a 6 frame link. Just let go of the illusion that you need to be closer in order for the c.lp to link (as I’ll explain later). Basically there’s no need to walk forward. As far as I know c.lp xx hp hands -> c.lp hp hands works on most of the cast when they’re crouching except for Honda himself and some female characters iirc (Rose and Sakura?). If it doesn’t work the first hands needs to be the mp version. On standing characters it thankfully works on Honda’s worst matchups, Guile and Dhalsim. It works off jump ins and cross-ups against them, so if you need a little bit more time to hit confirm Super this is a good thing. I believe it also works on a standing Chun-Li and Cammy, and it definitely works on Blanka. It doesn’t work on grapplers…triple hp HHS does though haha. Now to clarify what I mean by letting go of the illusion that you need to be closer…once you start practicing the link you’ll notice that even though Honda’s hand is hitting air he is still comboing…if you do this against Dhalsim it looks really silly but don’t think that if you’re not in range it won’t combo. Just practice against the characters you run into often so you don’t look like a fool whiffing hands haha.

Thanks Jsian. So just to clarify though, there are only 3 or so characters that this works on when they are standing? ie. guile, sim and cammy?

meaning that explains why i’m whiffing the cr lp after hhs on STANDING ryu?

Fuck i’m an idiot if this is why because i’ve been trying this for like an hour rofl.

EDIT:

Also, the HHS > cr mk >ex HB/BS, those follow the same situation? i.e. opponent crouching?

Yes, crouching only except on Blanka it’s standing.

if you cr mk hhs you can cr mk hb and not waste a meter at all, just saying

Hey Jewelman what are your inputs for jab EX hands? I saw a clip of you EX hands looping some Vega to death once. Also, is the c. jab after EX hands plinkable? (my bad if it’s a dumb question).

Edit: I forgot to say, I’m forgoing my PS3 pad for a bit and practicing on stick for an upcoming Xbox-only tourney and I can’t do shit with the 360’s ass pad nor do I want to haha

360 pad is indeed ass, what i do is after the 7th hit of ex hhs(your timing may differ) begin another jab ex hhs, the video shows inputs but for me its 1 2 3 1 2+3… T-mode at first just ex hhs into jab hhs…
plinkable? never tried it

I know this isn’t the thread for gimmicks, but I’m wondering what uses people have found for EXhands besides setting up honda’s “ultimate combo”? I did hit a guile player today with jabxxEXhands to oicho, it seems like EXhands leave you with the perfect frame advantage for an oicho setup (or u2) if your opponent isn’t already wise to the trick (I doubt it would work on anyone twice) but the way I think of it what usually goes through someone’s head when you go for EX hands is either “dumb bitch just wasted a meter on accident” or “this guy really thinks he can pull off EXhands to jabxxhands? (I’ve been grinding it out lately, someday I’ll get it consistantly :P)” test it out, seems like a better alternative to the questionable 2 meter cost for jabxxhands FADC oicho
