head explodes
Lmao!
Agree.
I switched out my Seimitsu buttons for Sanwa buttons on my HRAP3, started to practice, and hit jab xx HHS in no time. This, after not being able to do it at all (or maybe only by accident)!
i actually prefer my seimitsu buttons for hhs.
which is odd because i prefer my sanwa buttons for almost everything else (double tapping, etc…)
I like the simplicity of this and used something similar on my jump ins when I first started with Honda - j.HP, c.lp, c.lp, c.lp, hp (5 inputs and the 2nd and 3rd lp do nothing). The only reason I stopped was it was messing with me when trying to learn c.lp into hands on the ground. I think this method is great as a starter to punish on jump ins, but the sooner you have one method for all situations the better, as less you have to think about what you are doing with your hands the more you can think about your next moves.
Just to be clear before anyone hates on me, this is great and if you can do multiple ways for multiple situations then you are a better man than me and should make the most of this.
you guys are mean but funny lol
I’ve tried this for hours and I can’t get it.
j,s,f,s,f always comes out as ex and I can’t do j,f,s,j,f quick enough for it to come out, plus that motion feels very awkward. I also tried the j,s,j,s,f finger slide thing but that doesn’t work either. Is there any sure fire way to do the j,s,f,s,f motion without accidentally plinking? I’m using the hori arcade pro 3. Would this become easier if I got sanwa buttons for it?
Try using c.lk XX FP.HHS using the slide method I use in my video. slide the bottom of your middle finger down and up. F, S, J, S, F
Woo, I just landed my first, j RH, cr mk>f HHS>f HHS>super online today for massive damage. But anyway, I’ve still been seeing a lot of ex hands by accident so I went into training mode and founf that what was happening was my middle finger was dropping with my ring finger sometimes on the last input, which was making ex come out. So I started twisting my wrist to the right on the last input to create distance between my middle finger and the button, and this has made a huge difference. Also I found that I seem to have more consistency when I jab>hands when I input “gently” instead of smacking the buttons.
so if after the jab the HHS gets blocked am I doing the input for the HHS to slow?
Yes. You should get it to the point where if the jab connects then it always cancels into HHS, but not if it whiffs.
I use the slide method to get jab to hands. and I wear a glove to do it. And I wear the glove to tournaments. But it works, and although I look like a fool, the combo is done
I know a gen play that wears a glove. insert michael jackson reference here.
he was at the dallas tourney he was too good
Akimo randomly throws out EX HHS during important points in the match… do you think he does that intentionally or he’s just messing up? If he’s messing up, then it might suggest that he’s using the 1,2,3,2,3 (lp, mp, hp, mp, hp) method.
you can mess up any piano technique to get ex hands though, why is that one so exclusive
I usually do the piano method (lp, mp, hp, lp, hp) to do jab-HHS.
If I want EX hands, just do lp, mp, hp, lp, mp+hp. I also use those two ways when playing Blanka.
I rarely go to the SF4 forums here on SRK but wow that sidechainthreats video is a pretty good tutorial.
Well, you’re right that it can happen with any other one. But it’s much more likely with that one since the two buttons are right next to each other. On top of that, you have to press them in quick succession and the game has a little bit of leeway between accepting two rapid button presses as one single input (hence the EX).
Good stuff Mr. SNK. I really unappreciated HHS until I saw the vids.
