god damn home depot where i live didnt have this pack…i gotta call around…this is exaclt what im looking for…my JLF is too loose for me…
Nice find Ferris! I’m on my way to HD!
Did this last night. Found the pack at Home Depot and found the spring in the mess of the 84 other springs. I definitely like the added stiffness. I just need to get used to it becuase I am used to effortlessly moving my wrist to do the motion of a move but now I have to give it a little more effort or else certain moves dont come out. I also seem to screw up a little more than usual when shooting Ryu’s fireball. Im sure it will all be fine once i get used to it.
Anyone know how this compares to adding the seimitsu LS-33 spring? Good find Ferris23.
I replaced a spring in my Happ build using springs I found at an Ace Hardware, because even the default Happ is way too strong.
The spring I found is twice as long, and just a little too small (diameter-wise), but with some force it’ll get on, and be much softer. There’s a spring with a better diameter fit (though still “too long”), but much too weak (no rebound) for a Happ.
Also thanks to the OP for the heads-up re: Home Depot springs. If I had known in advance that they would have worked, I wouldn’t have added some LS33s to my LL order.
thanks for the tip, feels better imoa
good find. i used some of these a couple of weeks ago because i lost my original spring so i used the one you pictured x2. works great!
After playing with the two springs through the weekend I think its a little too stiff for me when using my regular sized seimitsu bubble top. However, the set up feels pretty good when playing with my super ultra mega oversized seimitsu lb-49 bubble top due to the added weight.
did you try the ls-32 spring already? i’m from germany and here the ls-33 spring is not available. what’s the difference between the ls-32 and ls-33 springs?
will both fit in the sanwa stick from the TE or is the spring smaller/bigger than the jlf spring?
ls33 spring is softer than the ls32…
oh thats good. are the size of the ls 32 and the jlf exactly the same?
did i understand that right that the ls 32 is harder than the jlf? sorry for the stupid questions but my english isn’t perfect.
very close… i just kind of twisted the LS 32 up into the JLF spring… the LS 32 is a bit stiffer than the JLF, but pretty close…
I have the LS 32 and JLF in mine, but it’s still way too soft… I will be putting in something else (modded LS 56 spring perhaps) and putting some heat shrink on the actuator to take out the dead zone in the middle of the JLF…
just picked up the spring package at home depot, was like $4.12 or something after tax.
gonna install it tonight and see if i like it.
i installed this tonight and played a few tourneys online.
i like it better for sure. i put 1 of those springs in there w/the stock one and it feels a little stiffer but not greatly stiffer.
i may try another striffer spring thta is in this package at some point as well.
also, there are 4 of each spring in the package, not 3.
can someone tell me the dimensions of the jlf spring?
i decided to search for springs before i get the ls32 spring but i don’t think that we have the spring package here in germany so i need to search for my own and i don’t want to open my TE until i have a spring.
Thanks to OP for this. Picked this up at a local HD and mine had FIVE springs The springs were located in the door hinge/knobs aisle of the store – had to ask 2 employees to help me find it. The package is actually much smaller than what I had in mine from the pic in this thread – the actual size is about the size of a garage remote.
I added 2 springs to the stock spring in my TE stick. I’m now loving the TE JLF stiff response as compared to my iL Competition on my modded SFAC – the JLF feels more accurate. Just now waiting for ponyboy to ship my octagon restrictor and bat top for the JLF…can’t wait.
Sorry if i’m a noob, but lets say if you go to a competition, and you bring your own stick. With the mod. It it considered cheating? Also what does the tension do, does the stick go back to Neutral position faster if the spring is stronger?
i have a modded SE with a JLF and sanwa buttons… would i be able to take the spring from the stock stick and add it to the JLF to complete this spring mod that everyone is talking about?
i haven’t checked this out yet… i am just asking to save a trip to home depot…
ill try this out eventually. i just got a te and the stick is a little too loose for me.
Do it! It was like a night and day difference for me :karate:
ok i’m wondering if this will work with the Hori ex2?
edit Nevermind i just realized that the hori ex2 is a sanwa knockoff, i’ll give this a try 2mro, great thread
