If this has already been posted then please delete this thread. I just wanted to give a heads up that Home Depot sells a pack of random springs in the hardware section and there is a spring in there that works perfectly for added tension on my TE stick.
There is only one spring in the pack that will actually work because it is the only one wide enough to fit around the plastic piece that the other spring sits on. Basically take the current Sanwa spring out, and join it with the new spring so you have the 2 springs together. Just twist them together and one will fit right inside the other, they are almost the same size in diameter and length.
It really adds the perfect amount of tension to the stick so it’s tight but not too tight. The entire pack of spring is about 4 dollars.
Out of the box I found the Sanwa JLF to be a bit too loose for my liking, this mod is cheap and effective.
Yup that is the package. Just go to the Hardware isle of your local home depot and ask for springs, you will find that package.
Again, in that package there is only one spring that will work because it is the only one wide enough to fit around the plastic piece that holds the spring in place. It is almost the same exact size as the Sanwa but really the combo of the 2 is perfection IMO.
From Wuss thread here is a picture of the actual springs, thanks Chaotic:
Notice that each spring has 3 in the package, so you are getting 3 springs that will work, just all the same spring. I think I’ve said that like 20 times now. lol
Thanks for the picture. I’ll go pick up a pack when I have a chance and try it on a Happ stick. I like me some tension and the Happ hard spring is ridiculously hard.
soon as Wuss posted that the other day i went and picked up a pack. the added tension is incredible. i put them into my modded ls32. good to know where springs can be bought at for cheap. now i just need to find another use for all those extra springs.
this package was not at my local home depot store… everyone said no they had no idea what im takling about… all they had was 3 or 4 different kind of springs in these bins. i called another store, same shit
At my store it was in the middle of the hardware isle. This is the same isle that has screws, bolts, nuts etc. It may have been near door hinges and stuff. They also had bags of springs near this package, but none of those would have worked.
It will be hanging up at eye level or maybe a little lower. It was on the opposite side of the screw drawers etc.
