Went ahead and made a video just for that one combo, too awesome not to show it off
Stylish! Havenāt had this much fun in training room luls.
Damn I was hoping that the same combo would work on Dhalsim but it doesnāt. You can do s.HP - b.MP on him but s.HP (counter hit) - EX Badstone - s.HP - b.MP I couldnāt get to connect the b.MP because you are SLIGHTLY too far it seems. I bet with absolutely frame perfect timing on the walk forward it MIGHT be possible but itād be crazy hard.
That said, 612 damage Dhalsim combo!
s.HP (CH) - EX Badstone - f.MP - s.MP - cr.HP - HK Ruffian - FADC - Crack Kick - EX Criminal Upper STUN! - neutral jump HP - Ultra 2.
I might try nj.hp - f.MP - s.MP - ultra 2 I think at that point the scaling wont matter. Anyways itās a 1combo stun on Dhalsim. Iād love to see someone land it on Filipino Champ (I know it wont ever happen though) just because I canāt imagine how salty heād be for you to style on him like that. Or just how salty heād be in general for being 1combo stunned.
The same combo stuns a few other from the cast, too. Such as Guile. Canāt remember any others now, though.
Last I checked it isnāt possible to do f.MP - s.MP on Guile. His upper body has a weird pushbox that forces you out, itās not possible to do f.MP - ANY close normal because of it.
Save some meter by ending your combo with ExRK into the unblockable #Kappa
I could try to land it if me and Champ ever get put into the same bracket. heās a regular over here in norcal
Itās always been possible, same as against all the other characters. If you time it wrong, then the far mp will come out, but time it right and cl.mp hits.
How do you time it right or wrong? itās a one frame link. I always thought it was spacing dependent.
I know, I was just saying that Eternal might have thought that it doesnāt work because of the far MP coming out if you time it wrong, unlike against other characters, where cl.mp still comes out when timed wrong.
Did a bunch of testing by recording a dummy doing walk forward then f.MP - s.MP - cr.HP on Ryu and then having it play back on Guile. Here is the deal, you CAN hit guile after a f.MP but only under specific conditions. It isnāt because you timed the f.MP - s.MP link wrong as you surmised.
- Depends on when you hit Guile during his ābobbingā animation. If you hit him during a portion where he has bobbed backwards it will work, otherwise it wont.
- If you just knocked guile down you can walk forward while he is still down and then once he is up you can do a f.MP and his upper body pushbox wont take effect and push you out. However if he gets up and THEN you walk forward it WILL push you out.
- If Guile is crouching it works.
- If Guile was walking backwards and stopped walking backwards JUST as the f.MP connects it works.
- If Guile is stunned it works
- If Guile is in a crumple state it works
- If you just landed a jump in it works (however if you do forward jump HK youāll notice that you start off farther from Guile than you do other characters even if you land the fj.HK as deep as possible.)
At neutral though with guile just standing there, ~80% of the time it wont work.
Yeah, it was just that we were talking about the corner combo.

After a ch.hp xx ex bad stone it works every single time. And the same combo that stuns dhalsim also works on Guile, Vega and Gen, with the same effect. Or, those are the only characters Iāve tried it against.
For the characters that Cody ends up in the corner against after using ex ruffian, iāve found a meaty setup.
ex ruffian > jump out of the corner > whiff cr.mp > close s.hp
you can even OS a c.mk should they decide to backdash out of the meaty.
so far iāve tested it and it works against akuma and abel.
Iāve asked Momochi, and the ONLY change he feels Cody needs is a better backdash.

Did you mention any of the suggested changes such as airborne crack kick or all of those bugs he has with miss set data like his knife being standing while doing crouching attacks, or being unable to release badstone early?
I didnāt get to, his translator seemed abit irked so I didnāt press anymore questions, lol. I did make my question clear and gave him time to think, he looked like he was deep in thought and when he answered to his translator he said āhe feels he needs a way better backdashā
Canāt wait to check out his pools tomorrow, Iāll try and record it as still as possible on my phone and get it up on here if heās not streamed.
Where you at man? Iām here!
3-0 momochi in a race to 3. Asked what I did wrong and any tips and his translator responded āhe thinks your good, there wasnāt muchā my face melted upon hearing this.
Besides that heās just way too solid, watching his vids and thinking āhowāre these people falling for his staggered jabsā then I go in and fall for it. A good habit to know that I learned during the match is to know when to chain and stagger your jabs momochis knowledge and different stagger timings are godlike. No new tech from him so far but I landed cr fierce > c.lk > ex ruffian on him and he used a slight variation of it on jaycetheace, Iād like to think I taught him that combo LOL, sike. Check the stream guys! Our fellow inmate is in winners!
Awesome stuff! I know Harrison made it out of pools in losers yesterday, OFC Free Willy got eliminated by JFuerte though.
Yeah! Harrison is playing very well as of late. And I met Will today aka grabmasterflex, real cool dude. Unfortunately the fuerte got the momentum after the first game he said.
Momochi is in winners after defeating jayce and running it back with snake eyez who defeated him at the 25th anniversary. Both pretty convincing wins. Momochi actually counter picks akuma with ken which I found interesting.
I dunno about convincing. The Snakeeyez one was pretty close each round and it really came down to snakeeyez misjudging the spacing on his SPD twice and momochi getting a huge punish on it thanks to his amazing reactions. The Jayace one was a bit more convincing as it showed momochi showed he had a better sense of when to jump or not than Jayce but I think if Jayce hadnāt had a number of execution errors it would have been a lot closer or even been won by Jayce. Not to mention Momochi did a fair amount of unsafe stuff that Jayce failed to punish (probably due to lack of experience against Cody so people dunno how unsafe a lot of his stuff is and they either go for too hard of a punish and itās blocked or they donāt punish at all.)
The snakeeyez match I felt was a much stronger showing from both Momochi and his opponent with it really coming down to pixels in terms of distance judging that made him lose.
Also shout outs to AdamA almost beating Ricky Ortiz and having Ricky cry out āso random!ā after the match ended. Ricky and FChamp two of the saltiest players Iāve ever seen. Iām sure that they beat themselves up for the errors and improve their game but they always end up sounding so salty right after a loss or close match.
