If they had any idea how to balance shit, they might be thinking the same thing.
And yet, Murky nerfs.
I still don’t understand where the concept of “moba haters play HOTS instead” came from.
I played a bit of original DOTA back in the day, and played LoL with a friend for almost 2 years, thoroughly enjoying myself. Yet, I also find HOTS pretty damn fun.
Of course, whether the game stays fun enough for me to play it for months is a relevant concern, but still, I’m no hater! D:
I have master skin Murky. I love the little guy.
These nerfs suck the big one.
No gathering power, no slimy pufferfish, no full heal.
So, I went from being a poor hero until I hit to 16 to just …being bad. My DPS is gone, my regen is gone, my carry potential is gone.
I’m not sure what the hell my role is in the team anymore.
I thought it was pretty fun at first too, but there just isn’t enough meat to keep me playing it over LoL, and forget about it when Dawngate was still active I didn’t even care about getting into the beta at all. It’s a fun diversion at best, but it’s trying to price itself exactly like LoL is, which won’t work. They’d be better off selling it retail, or at least doing what Smite did and letting you buy the champs as a whole. Smite is basically a full retail title with DLC, and it works for them.
The Murky nerfs make even less sense than when Riot nerfed Garen. He was seeing zero competitive play and got nerfed a while back because he beats scrubs. I’m guessing maybe Murky was frustrating to scrubs and didn’t have a place competitively (as competitive as HotS can be anyway) so they just nerfed him and they’ll come back to him later? It makes no sense. I thought he was obnoxious to play against but really weak overall.
Murky actually had a 75% winrate at the top competitive level before his nerf, its just he was rarely seen
Murky was fantastic, like, he was really really good I’m not arguing that. People just didn’t understand him one bit. Once I hit 16, I felt like I could solo carry.
I’ve just had…everything taken away from me.
Lets be real, Thrall was pretty insane with his windfury battle momentum build. They accidently nerfed his self heal, so that should be reverted. I think he’ll go back to being solid, but not super stupid OP lol
Maybe Thrall will be built for pure nuke instead of survivability AND nuke? Does giant killer work very well with tempest fury for example?
9 seconds between each windfury though. Damn. I mean what’s he even supposed to do to fill that gap? Use chain lightning? Lol.

They’re making funco mini figures in blind packs for heroes of the storm lol
Might pick up a case
I was accepted into the closed beta after the purported nerfpocalypse. Looks like it could be fun, but I’m iffy on teaming up with insufferable randoms. Hopefully more bros pick it up when it goes open beta.
Free beta keys, while supplies last
As super casual player, i get turned off playing any sort of “group” games. I had some free time this past weekend to sneak a game or two in and of course I was nowhere near stellar, but you hardcore bros take it too seriously.
MOBA games are one of those genres where everyone seems hardcore, and for good reason. With most of them, the learning curve is high, and, provided you stay dedicated, it often takes a long ass time to get just the fundamentals down. By that time, you’re expected to know what you’re doing. Hence, you’ll have people getting livid at folks who are just starting out. Next time, try letting your team know that you haven’t played before. Usually they’ll understand, and at the very least, won’t report you.
Heroes with the lowest win %'s?
Murky and Chen.
Guess which two Heroes I own the Master skin.
SMH.
Currently in the process of downloading the game thanks to the free beta keys provided by Pimp Willy on the Jesus Toast Mafia site. Interested to see how unified leveling and other aspects of this game work.
Turns out all my wins on maps are either 78-82%.
I’m pretty surprised at that. I thought I lost a lot more.
Got into the beta, leveled up to six. So far got Valla, ETC, and the starter bundle for rainbow pony mount.
I’m still very unsure of this game. On one hand I really, really like a lot of the concepts and dig the overall look and mechanics.
On the other hand it feels fairly simple and shallow, and the pricing model and amount of return in in game currency is laughable.
Will post more concise thoughts when I dig into it more.
I think the pricing models is the biggest negative the game has. $10 for heroes is too much, and too many heroes are too expensive in gold. They need to be more aggressive in reducing the gold cost over time.
