Been using Lost Vikings. They’re pretty gangsta.
I only have Nova bought, and sitting at 19k gold atm. Will probably buy Jaina and Uther after this free week ends though. Any other suggestions?
If you plan on playing here’s league, make sure to have all the roles covered. I’d go with muradin and anub/etc, illidan/valla, lili/malf, azmo/zagara, and then sprinkle in the heroes you are most comfortable with or like. These heroes are all relatively cheap and solid picks. For higher cost heroes, Sylvanas is a big one to have, zera/nova good, brightening, kt, jaina are all good.
Picking up the $20 starter bundle is worth it to get 5 solid heroes

Clever people would have figured this out before they start on HL, at least have 2 of each roles…

Leveled Muradin and Raynor to 5, they were okay. Muradin in avatar form is nice. Then my player level was enough to unlock the 7th free hero in rotation, this week being…Sylvanas! Holy fuck, I only played one game, but I love the character. Everything is so unique, and interesting from her basic abilities to the skills she gets as she levels up. I only have like 14000 gold atm, so I probably should stick to budget buys. However Sylvanas is too awesome, can’t resist.

People sleep on Diablo. I’ve got a nice build for him that gives him about 7.1k hp late game and if you should die somehow, you’ll almost always get instantly resurrected. Also his Diablo choke slam + charge move are great if you have a team that knows when you’re about to do it. No hero survives that shit especially if you body block with Diablo.
You have to be insane to sleep on Diablo. He’s easily one of the best Tanks.
I finally played this for the first time today. Without items and real choices beyond situational, you can literally memorize the entire game and never lose a trade. The game seems to be more focused on making choices as a team and maximizing your advantages instead of making personal decisions that cater to your playstyle. I really dislike being shoe-horned into a talent build. Should be able to respec in base or something. Speaking of which, I don’t see a reason even to have a base in the first place. You don’t do anything there except regenerate health and mana. In heavy team-focused risk/reward game like this, making decisions to remain close to objectives or to push towards the enemy base would be a satisfying feature, in my opinion. It’s a fun game, but I saw right through to the rock/paper/scissors foundation very quickly. Not necessarily a bad thing, just not entertaining to me as a MOBA since it lacks much of the subtle nuances of competitive play that once mastered, make a good player into an exceptional one.
I’ll keep playing until I can see what Hero League is like.

Picked up Diabro and Meruca Raynor since I like using him, simple and effective.
Started to level Muradin. Dudes a fantastic tank for just absorbing hits, I like him and his ability to layer stuns to mess with group clusters.
Going to spend this week and abuse XP to level up everyone I own to five at least.
EDIT: Meruca Raynor with the Hulk Hogan theme playing. You will never lose.
Picked up Gazlowe for another Specialist option, probably get Li Li next to finish off the 2k champs and on sale Uther.
Now I have at least two of every role I think.
Warrior: Muradin, Diabro, ETC.
Assassin: Valla, Illidan, Raynor.
Specialist: Gazlowe, Azmodan.
Support: Malf, Tass.
Just started playing recently, Lost Vikings with LiLi is so incredibly dumb and broken. Just go all heal build with LiLi, chunking multiple heal pots at the Vikings while giving them her buff as well, plus heal ultimate. We won 2 games in just over 20 minutes.
20 minutes is the average game length though, so thats not surprising. Also that combo seems pretty weak to me.
No 20 minutes combined, it is pretty stupid good combo, just no one thinks outside the box.
How is it a good combo? The vikings themselves are pretty weak, each one (except olaf) would be able to get bursted down between lilis heal cooldowns. You’re stacking 3 vikings in 1 lane and pairing them with a healer, so theres no healer for the other 3 heroes (assuming a 1 healer comp). In my head it just doesn’t make sense. If you have a replay of it working well, I’d like to see it because I like seeing new things work
I remember once upon a time lili and arthas would push a lane all game and never have to even hearth, it was so op
The last 2 games on my list are with that combo, not sure how to pull it up or anything.
They save the replays under your user account folder, c:\users<username>\document\Heroes of the Storm\Accounts<your account id here><your hero account here>\Replays\Unsaved\Multiplayer
something like that, relatively small text files so they’re easy to share
I unfortunately have been on a major losing streak lately and haven’t had anything fun happen since the Johanna release
