Heroes of the Storm: Blizzard's All Star MOBA for people who hate MOBA's

http://disguisedtoast.com/guide-getting-the-heroes-of-the-storm-cardback/

Curious if they will do the male versions of the D3 characters with alternate builds down the road, we have three females and one male which is fine.

Just it’d be a good way to double down on the same class with a different kit, I remember my Crusader was a shotgun holy blasting wall of death and it would he cool.

Also give me D2 Necromancer pls.

Theres been some datamined male barbarian stuff, but if its a skin for sonya or its own hero I don’t know. I think since D3 heroes have 2 heroes, they made the choice to go with the female version to help balance out the roster. I think wizard needs to come out as the female though.

The cool thing is that the classes are deep enough to not really have overlap. You could do a male barb thats not based on whirlwind, instead do like weapon throw barb? Lol, or like… Earthquake seismic slam? Call of the ancients? I dunno lol. A nice big 2handed mace. Or unless it steps on reinhardts image too much, just make it a nice big axe. Save weapon throw for Amazon. I’d like to see 2 different wizards, an arcane set one and then maybe a summoned base one like hydras or something? Could always go for a second fire or ice wizard too. But theres a lot of space to explore for the classes eventually, if there wasn’t so many other characters to explore

Thanks! Yeah I’m definitely not doing that.

Yeah that is what I mean, gender thing isn’t an issue but a good way to double down on two of the same class with wildly different builds and would help flourish the Diablo cast.

Cause Diablo and SC next to Warcraft doesn’t have near as many reps possible so getting creative is ideal.

The game is a lot of fun, you may actually start to enjoy it if you go for the cardback? lol

if they added a male barb i would rather it be the d2 barbarian. whirlwind is too iconic for a barbarian to not have it.

I don’t like cooperative games without friends. I especially dislike mobas, even with friends!

Also… Just try to pull me away from the Witcher for 11 hours.

I don’t know how this game was before the so-called ‘nerf’ patch but I’m telling you man, Diablo is still OP. So many Diablos roaming around last night.

He lost max xp, 10 hp per level (so 200 max hp at 20)
Lost amplified healing that, combined with his trait, made him really regen fast
He used to get +5 health per soul, now its +.15% per soul

All around made him less bulky and resiliant.

Made his shadow charge cost more mana and have a higher cooldown, and isn’t “unstoppable” anymore, he lost a lot of the talents around his fire stomp that made him able to clear minions/camps faster, and his overpower got a bit higher mana cost.

and despite all of that, he’s still super powerful, which shows you how much more powerful he really was!

Compare that with stitches, who lost health, damage, stun talents on his slam, and ended up really bad, and you can see that balance is really a fine edge to attain

He’s a free to play Champ right now of course you will see a lot.

Unfortunately most I’ve seen are bad.

Stitches made it out far worse though, do something for him.

I might have been one of those bad ones you saw. I played my first game, co op of course against AI. I led in seige damage, yay! I also died…a ton. We won, but I assume everyone does against the AI. I chose Diablo, cause well…he’s supposed to be good so I might as well level him up as opposed to the other free heroes available. Anyways first MOBA ever, first MOBA match ever, and well it doesn’t really interest me like Hearthstone did. I had no familiarity with ccg/tcg before but that grabbed me right away. I assume MOBA is the type of game that grows on you over time.

I just enjoy it in small bursts, having different maps with differing objectives is nice. Just the lack of a fully custom build for your hero is bothersome and I end up doing the same stuff over and over.

You can get items but as a skill replacement, and I have a hard time justifying most of them. Like totem for Malf, why I can just buff Q instead and heal on my own.

Or a shield ally skill for Tassadar, yeah super useful with his Q.

Vision one is decent for mp if you are a support who isn’t Tass, helps with objective spotting and ambushes. Some other one is good for tanks but I think it was either nerfed or shuffled off a few people.

diablo’s good, but you can pretty much play whoever you want in quick matches and AI games. people tend to not tierwhore in quick matches anymore, even at the higher levels.

i figure if you’re going to lose some quick matches and have it be almost completely out of your control, you might as well do it on someone you enjoy playing.

because healing totem is fucking amazing, and heals everyone in the group, and stacks with your Q?

Agreed on some skills, like a lot need a tuning pass, but many characters have multiple viable builds… like multishot vs auto attack valla, bomb zeratul vs cleave zeratul, regen muragin vs burst muradin, etc. And yet, many characters have tiers where, yeah you’d like a certain ability, but others are situational. I’ve taken the Clarivoyance (reveal area) over living bomb damage increase, which helped us versus the ambushes we were seeing (zera/nova team).

When they have me pushing lanes all by myself and group fights are a clusterfuck that move constantly, healing totem is pretty damn useless.

Much rather get his healing ultimate and fly around in my bubble for heals where I can personally position myself. Anytime I’ve been stuck with totem (autopick after a disconnect that is plaguing a lot of people this week) its never made much of a difference unless Im on Egyptian map where I can drop it in the shrines at least.

Otherwise you move to much for it to be effective when you get it, at earlier levels when lane phase matters a bit more it could be neat. But when you get it its roam city.

For most healers, healing totem is hands down the talent to take at 4. Malfurion makes a strong case for not taking it.

His other talent that passively throws Rejuvenates onto allies is really good imo, it’s one of the traits that distinguishes him from other healers. Having a longer duration on Rejuvenate only makes it stronger.

But that talent doesn’t come until way later in the game, so you’re trading the early game power of healing totem (healing totem IS really good and can decide early teamfights) or more power in the late game.

Almost every hero definitely has a few traits that can be subbed in and out to shift power into different phases of the game or adapt to certain situations. If you’re using one build every game then really the only problem is your opponents are being pushovers.

I take it on Li Li sometimes since her healing is random. I don’t think Malf has need for it.

Main issue is why not have some items pop up on certain levels with a skill, having to choose between both just feels off coming from other mobas. Not used to giving up skill for an item that hasn’t worked out for the majority of the time.

I dont get what you are talking about items? You mean like talents that buff existing skills vs adding new skills (like 1-4 abilities)?

Just think of them like any talents; and they balance the game around these talent choices you have to make. If you could take healing totem AND the healing buff, of course you would. If you didnt have to make these hard choices, there’d be too many choices to make!
