:u:That doesn’t work if the file has transparency in it. If you use that method on a sprite animation, it will give you a white background for each layer.
As said, you can use Dreamworks on CS3 to convert the gif to a psd or simply use Dreamworks in the first place. I tried Dreamworks but didn’t like it very much. It was just too new to me, so I just convert files to use in PS, since I’m already quite familiar with it.
Photoshop’s resizing works pretty well. Press CTRL+T, which is the TRANSFORM command. Grab one of the corner boxes, hold SHIFT [which keeps it uniform], then drag down to the size you want. After you find the size you like, either press ENTER or double click the image.
Dreamworks is now part of the CS3 line. So if you got a CS3 bundle, you should have it, unless it was the standard version. So yeah, it would be Adobe Fireworks.
If you have Adobe ImageReady, which came with PS in earlier versions, you can use that too.
I guess Adobe thought it would be funny to let CS3 PS users to create and save animated gifs but not open them properly.
I pressed Ctrl + T then I grabed one of the corner boxes & held shift and dragged the image down, but I’m not sure if I did it correctly cause I cant seem to see the image resized. It’s just like outlined. Is there any other way to resize an image?
You should be able to find an option in the IMAGE tab, located next to FILE. I forgot what it’s called, but I think its under there…called IMAGE SIZE or something [once again, IMAGE:r:IMAGE SIZE…etc].
Not sure if I can ask it here, but this is moreso a question about gimpshop that photoshop. Wasn’t sure if I should have made a new thread, so let me know if I should just do so.
Basically wanted to ask how do you work with animation frames in gimpshop? I can’t seem to find the animation frames. I’d like to try making animated avs but I don’t know where to find the option.
In any case, yeah you can ask GIMP questions here too. Open to all image editing programs [even MSPaint! :omg:]. I’ll look into GIMP animating right now.
Edit: Found this, which should help with your GIMP animating needs. I read through it [even though I don’t have it yet] and found it to be easy to follow [I know that sounds ‘wierd,’ but it was worded well].
Yeah, so I’m trying to make this animated avatar in Photoshop CS3 [currently at school right now], but when I SAVE AS :r: GIF, it wants to compress the layers into one.
What the shit!? How do you SAVE AS an animated GIF?
EDIT: Figured it out. You have to SAVE FOR WEB AND DEVICES.
