Help With Photoshop, Etc

But the thing is that I actually want to know how they (whoever it is) made it. >__<

Also you need to get on AIM more often.

Ah, now that, my friend, is a mystery. And yezzir.

The talented DarkDragon.

Sasmasta to the rescue!!

Does anyone know how I can replicate the potrait boxes like this in photoshop.

Any ideas?

I wanna “hand-make” a row of boxes in the bottom of my stick template, since the image above is too low in resolution

Wow, a Photoshop Thread…Cool Beans =]

I know I’ve asked before, but what’s the best way to bring down gif sizes in CS5? I’ve eliminated frames, dropped resolution, no tween, tried a ton of options, yet still no luck. Help!

I have a file that was emailed to me in photoshop format (psd) but I dont have photoshop.
What I need to do is post the image in the Stick Art Request thread so BIGWORM can do it up for me, but I cannot get the image to upload onto photsobucket.
Any tips on how to get this psd format image posted up onto SRK

PM it to me xD I can save it as png/jpg w/e and send it back

i cant pm it. my cpu is being un co operative ill have to convert it myself I suppose

thanks though

Links to the guides are dead. I came here hoping to be educated in Photoshop but alas, I was disappointed upon viewing the words, “Page not found” on my Firefox tabs. :frowning:

Ah, you’re right.

Editing first post.

Copying and pasting one of my old posts because changing thread titles breaks links:

Time to test the new avatar limits! Just from observation, I think the profile picture and the avatar are the same image (avatars are just re-sized). If you look at Valaris’ av, he has an animated GIF as his picture, but in his posts, his av becomes a re-sized, cropped, static version of that picture. I’ll let you know what else I find out through experimentation (constantly edited):
[LIST]
[]Sas mentioned that the avs re-size to 96 x 96 pixels in posts.
[
]Feels like the Facebook profile picture system. You can upload a really large image, and then you can crop it yourself after you’ve uploaded it.
[]Seems like 192 x 192 kb may be the optimal size (dimensions) for avatars. Avatars of this size appear unedited in the profile page.
[
]Re-sizing / down-scaling doesn’t work perfectly. If you want the best looking avatar in your posts, 96 x 96 kb is the way to go.
[]Re-sizing gives your avatar a maximum width of 96 pixels and/or a maximum height of 96 pixels (aspect ratio is kept).
[
]Non-premium file size limit is 50 kb. The premium file size limit is 146.5 kb.
[]Sas couldn’t get an avatar to animate when it had a dimension greater than 192 pixels. Once he changed it to 192 pixels, the avatar was actually animating. Might need further testing. So, if you upload a picture that has dimensions greater than 192 pixels in any direction, it will not animate.
[
]Re-sizing gives your profile picture (the bigger version of your avatar) on your profile page a maximum width of 192 pixels and/or a maximum height of 192 pixels. Again, original aspect ratio is kept.

kinda of a noobie question here…to get a similar look like the washed out one that B15 using here, what kind of filter would I use?

Hmm i dont know but id say to google some rusty textures. When ever you find one just set it on top of whatever image your using desaturate it. Then set it to overlay and lower the opacity to about 30 25 percent thats the method i use.

ok cool, thanks

Google “Grunge Brushes and Vectors”, lower the opacity. To keep the central character “clean” you can use an eraser or keep the cut out a layer above the grunge work = )

I’m just playing around in Paint.net with layout concepts, and I think I’ve settled on this general, rough arrangement of two images for my Qanba Q4:

http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/3127/morrigands3concept.jpg

What I’m looking to do is fill in the middle as a transition zone having Morrigan’s shadowy hair/wings extend further than the image initially did, so it flows seamlessly into the Darkstalkers’ silhouettes. (Thankfully, the well-placed MP button should leave the hardest part of the transition up to the imagination.)
Any pointers to make things easier? I know the basics of using the gradient tool at least.

Those are never fun O.O.

I’d cut out the entire background of the right pic, keep it above the left pic’s layer, fill with the upper middle blue color (matches well), clone stamp/blur/smudge the hair/wings further to the right, but getting the bulk of your mess hidden by the right characters… and filters… ALOT of filters and lens flares = )

I like the idea of cutting up the background. Since I’m never going to be able to balance the brushstrokes of the blue sky with the left side. I might as well simplify the blue. I may still try to work with the moon though, but I’d probably want it on a different layer and filter than the foreground, eh?

The big question-mark though becomes the ghostly white Pyron cut-off top centre. Though it’d probably be easier to cut him out completely, I might try to blend him back into the left-half to fill space if I can find a way to make that look decent. I’ll play around with it.

Also, I did some looking around at lens flare plugins for Paint.net, and I’m not really impressed with my options. I’m probably too stubborn to change programs too.
