Help With Photoshop, Etc

edit: figured everything out.

Is gickr.com a good site when trying to make gifs out of youtube vids? Are there better alternatives?

photoshop7 doesnt work with windows7?? cant install it.

anyone??

OK I’ve been trying to find tutorials on how to do this for awhile and found nothing. Here is what I’m talking about…

Now the picture of Snooki was made from thispicture

I’m assuming they made the picture into a brush image but how do you resize an image and make it high quality? Everytime I’ve tried to resize an image like that it just gets blurry.

It looks like they just pen cut her picture out, took all the saturation out, then copy-paste a hat on her head oO.

Upsizing images never works out well, unless you hide the distortion (doesn’t work well if its the focal point). Chances are, they had a high res version of that picture to begin with.

they had to use a duotone plugin for that image in Illustrator or Quark. or they did it the hard way with a combo of PS and Ill together using levels then vectoring each level separately…which I kinda doubt.

the idea is lame. I wouldn’t give them an aluminum can for that tee since the can is worth more.

Doubtful. PS7 is ancient. Probably need at least CS2 for Windows 7.

so i’ve been wondering for the longest time how to do animated gifs. As i’ve had way too many ideas on clips from tv shows/movies/anime/games/whatever to just make a gif. But all I get is using virtual dub to get said clip before even talking about Image ready.

So i’m kinda asking…is there a tutorial out there to walk me through cutting a certain animation from a clip from virtual dub? or rather…just a complete guide in all that stuff when it comes to animation and trying to make an avy out of it?

I’d write one myself…but youtube has decent info and that’s where I learned it too.

Do you still need help with this?

he may not but I know I do.

Add me on aim or post about any help you need in here :bgrin: I can only, really help with photoshop though.

I got the gif and everything working. just a matter of trying to make it SRK avy size limit. I figured removing a bunch of frames would help but i’m not sure if it’s just because there’s still a lot (which is possible) or something else.

at this point I think it may just be too many frames.

EDIT: Ok yea too many frames. goofed around a bit and actually found something better to run with.

I don’t know how many frames you have in it, but generally a normal sized avatar has 5 frames or less. The most I have had is 12 but I kept the actual animated part to only a section of the avatar’s pixel space.

EDIT: Good job figuring it out. Best way to learn imo.

So here’s my story:
I recently got a mayflash, and am reskinning the top. I’ve got like 3 images I’m wanting to print out and try on the stick. It’s easy enough, since the top 4 buttons are gone (moved to the front of the stick, like a TE), and I’m only using 6 of the actual buttons (the 6 to the most right #s 6,7,8,2,3, and 4).

However, I lack the knowledge on how to take a pic and apply it to a template, so that I can get it printed at Kinkos. If somebody could donate a little time, or point me towards a walk-through, that’d help a lot.

If somebody’s interested in helping, I can link the images here.

Linking the images would make people more inclined to help imo. Nothing to lose.

So I’m trying to do Muffins’ avatar process and I got to the part where we have to use the burn tool. The layer isn’t locked or anything, but when I try to burn it, nothing happens. Any idea why?

Edit: I’m retarded. The burn was only showing on one layer and it didnt affect the whole thing.
