Help With Photoshop, Etc

You’re welcome, friendo.

Hey all,

I’m trying to modify a jpreg so that it appears as though the border defines the outside definitions (that is, it isn’t just a square photo, but one with specific outer dimensions).

Basically, it’s a picture in an onscurely shaped frame that I want appear as one image.

Sorry if I didn’t explain well.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

i really have no idea what youre asking but

are you asking about how to make a picture show up without rectangular dimensions like:

or just how resize pictures in general

?

Yes, without rectangular dimensions. Sorry, I wasn’t too sure how to express myself. Any help would be appreciated. I’m using Photoshop CS2.

Save it as a png should work. With pngs and gif you can have a transparent background (not sure if there is anymore)

if you havent got the answer by uh, later, ill write up something explaining how to do it

this space reserved

Thanks, put it needs to be a jpeg.

JPEGs cannot support transparency.

yeah if you absolutely need a JPEG format then youre out of luck, sorry.

Alright, thanks anyways.

Hey! Got a few questions for you guys if you’re up for it.

I’m working on a card game, and I’m making portions of it available for download.
I’ve uploaded them as .tif files because I’d heard that was the best extension to use for print quality.

The files are 300dpi, and come out to roughly 50mb.

My questions are:
-If I try to print this in high quality, will it rape my wonderful $50 lexmark printer?
-If the image is exactly 8.5x11 inches, is there a way to have it print without the image clipping?
and
-Is there a way to decrease the file size significantly without a significant loss in picture quality? Like I said, I’m not really familiar with this aspect of photoshop.

Here’s one of the files in case you need to see it:

Thanks guys! It’s definitely appreciated.

Hello photoshoppisticians, I made this sig for a different forum using wordArt (shut up :D), is there an easy way to do this kinda stuff in PS/GIMP? All tuts I could find using google were just for patterns and other unrelated shit. :xeye:
Any and all help appreciated.

Just on here to say: That sig is fricken sweet! One can imagine what FluffyM will do with gimp when he gets it.

I will find something more useful to say when I am not on a 5 minute break from work.

Haha, thanks. Looking forward to that then.

Yes, there is a way. In Photoshop, you can create the text [any text type like Arial, Times New Roman, etc and size pixels] and then put a pattern over it.

Click on the pattern layer, then press and hold CTRL while clicking the text layer. That will create an outline of the text on the pattern itself. You can then cut that out [or press CTRL+I to cut out the unwanted parts. Much more practical] and voila, you have something like your sig.

If this needs visual assistance, I’ll try to do one after I wake up [and if it is requested].

Sounds easy enough, I’ll try later- thanks. :lovin:

Awwwww…sas beat me to it. Curse me taking all this time to make a fancy tut-pic-thingy…oh well. So its super early in the morning for me but, I wanted to put in my 2 cents about doing “this kind of thing” on PS, I don’t have gimp. To be clear, I am interpreting you question to mean: How can I take a picture and put it inside text? (:l: Very bad wording, I’m sure). From my understanding you should be able to do it fairly easy by doing these things.
[]Make a new document
[
]Type some text into your first layer
[]Make a new layer above your text
[
]Copy paste or otherwise insert your picture into that layer

Right click on the layer and choose to make it into a "Clipping Mask"
And voila! That should do the trick for you (assuming that I assumed correctly).
And here is a link to the tut-pic-thingy I was talking about

Look at this! You went all out. Yeah, clipping masks should be easier. What can I say? I mainly use Photoshop to make pictures of myself look skinny.

Who has two thumbs and is a cool guy?

This guy!

Wow…thanks man, really appreciate you taking the time to do that. :wow:
I honestly hope someone is giving you guys shitloads of rep cuz you certainly deserve it.
Now this guy is gonna go create some more weird stuff.

but what if u dont have photoshop? I have adobe indesign and im trying to make an hori ex2 design on the hori ex2 template any tuts for that?
