Looks cool, man.
I think if you also press CTRL+G on the layer above the text, itāll do the same thing, and you can even move it around.
Edit: Though the hotkey could be different, I canāt view PS right now.
Ctrl+Alt+G.
Thank you for the shortcut. I did not know this!
Thatās what it was! Yeah, itās a super cool thing to know about imo
hey folks I need help. say I want to put a Giant red X over an image crossing it out in photoshop. how would I go about doing that?
Can u be little bit more specific
essentially say if I have an image of a person. and I want to put an Red X over it or like a circle with a slash through it like this for example :cybot::
http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/1568/lilwayne.jpg
The way I would do it [which has some steps] would be:
-Use the Elliptical Tool and place the cursor over the center of the image, or where you would want the center of the circle to be.
-Hold SHIFT and ALT. Now drag out to create your desired size circle. By holding SHIFT and ALT, this will allow you to make a perfect circle based ON the center point.
-Now fill it in using a color of your choice.
-Next, use the ELLIPTICAL MARQUEE and do the same thing. Place the cursor over the center, hold SHIFT and ALT then drag out to create the inner circle. Donāt let it overlap the original.
-Press CTRL+X to cut out the selection.
-Now use the POLYGONAL LASSO tool and draw a box shape from one end of the outer circle to the other end. Color it in using the same color and there you go.
There might be an easier way. This is the only way I can think of at the moment. You got a way. You chime in.
Anyone know how to decrease the size of your image? Thereās some avatars (even non-prem) that look like they have a lot going and seem above the file limit but are still able to get through.
So, tips on that would be good.
and Basik Teknik, Iād just use the pentool shapes. First a circle/oval shaped however you want and a line shape. Add a drop shadow to get the same effect.
and like Sasmasta says use the elliptical tool to select the picture then inverse and cut out anything that bleeds out past the circle.
:u: if youāre talking about animated avs, hopefully these posts will help:

Oh, that would be perfect for stills. I canāt do animated avs. I use Photoshop CS3 and Illustrator.
Is there some option/window like that for non-animated images?
well, iāve never used CS3, so i canāt help you out there.
but, in CS2, that window can be used for stills too. you can change the file type by clicking the format box:
(same image from my old post.)
the drop down menu will have:
[] GIF
[] JPEG
[] PNG-8
[] PNG-24

WBMP
after changing the file type, there will be more options to help you adjust the file size.
not so ninja [e]dit:
:d: no prob. glad i could help out.
Yeah, Itās on CS3 as well.
Iāll mess around with that and see what I can get.
Thanks for the help, Str[e]ak.
hi everyone! iām new.
iād like to create a custom arcade stick with this image:
iāve got the 50MB .tif file, but the problem is that there is a white rectangular on the upper left because it should be substituted by the arcade stickās turbo indicator:
http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/912358/blanka.tif
also, i cannot save the tif file as a jpeg. i can save it as a bmp, but the colors changes as you can see (even if is not that badā¦):
http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/497/blanka.png
(it was changed to png by imageshack)
how can i remove the white rectangular? i was thinking to add the capcom logo, but it would be quite big i thinkā¦
How do I go about fitting a layer to another layer? Iām trying to make myself a custom art for my stick. So I have my template open, and I import my image as a layer into the template, but itās WAAAAY bigger than the template. How do I make it fit perfectly? Obviously some parts will be cut off due to the template, but I want a way to fit it as well as possible without just guessing.
Iām using GIMP 2 btw.
EDIT: This template is about 600 pixels by 500 pixels. Isnāt that too small? Can I just get a good template tutorial? How to use a template to make a high res art for your stick? And if anyone has used Lamilabels, can you tell me what I do to get one? How do I get my image to the people at FedEx Kinkos?
Select the layer you want to resize. Edit > Free Transform or ctrl + t. When youāre resizing it, hold down shift to maintain the proportions. You must have a wrong template, thereās no way joystick templates are that small either.
I got the template from the template post at the beginning of this topic. Itās for my Agetec DC stick. Any help finding a better one?
OK I found out that the DPI was 50. I increased it to 200 and quadrupled the resolution and it worked out much better.
Now if I have a picture of a character like Ken with a pure white background, whatās the easiest way to make the white background disappear? I thought "color to alpha"but that makes the whole image transparent. And manually cropping the img seems tedious as all hell considering that itās so big. So is there any easy way to erase a solid color background?
I havenāt used GIMP in awhile, but if it doesnāt have something like the Magic Eraser, then use the Wand tool to select all the white and Ctrl+X. Would that work?
