Me too. Hopefully something will turn up that will help Hakan in pressure situations when he unoiled. thats one of my biggest concerns cause once i’m unoiled and stuck in the corner, i’m not getting out unless I get lucky
DNC stands for Dash Normal Cancel. When oiled you can cancel his dash into a normal move
oh yeah thanks. I’m actually training with that as we speak.
I just fought an Ibuki and I did a j.HP, it hit her Kunai and the Kunai just bounced off without harming Hakan at all
yeah you can attack them things but be careful as the Ibuki player can bait you to do so

Ah okay. It caught me completely off guard and messed with my train of thought
To my knowledge, Ibuki’s Kunais can be punched away. ("Who’s kunai is Guy reflecting!? The world my never kno…Oh it’s Ibuki…right right…)
His f+RH also has juggle potential. You can do it after a j.mp.
I don’t really know why you would? You can usually just slide instead…
But this brings up another questions.
After air-to-air j.MP, you can juggle again with any slide… any slide EXCEPT oiled-EX-slide. Can anyone confirm this for me? this would make all of his slides have juggle potential EXCEPT the oiled-EX one. Which, to me, seems really weird.
this thread is godlike
so which ultra do most of you guys use and why? I use U1 but I’m wondering if U2 is a better choice
It really is. I’m trying to learn as much as I can from here to improve my game. Thank you so much to everyone posting up all this useful information.
I use U2 cause it takes away so many options from your opponent, has interesting properties and is funny as hell.
sorry double post, google chrome ftl
Oh, and I dunno if it’s been mentioned, but f+mp into mk-360 is an uncombo on standing opponents. The have to do a reversal or crouching normal to get out of the grab.
Dunno about usefulness, but it’s neat all the same.
Guys, what about U2?Do we consider it having juggle, although not actually hitting?
Hakan just pours bottles of Hitbox on his belly and lays down, it’s is literally just a hitbox that will grab anything thats remotely airborne and in a hittable state, I think its got the pursuit property.
Apart from certain matchups against characters with good crossup pressure and a few airbourne specials (namely bison, rufus, viper) I’m convinced U1 is king. Ridiculous range, damge and a plethora of normals to set it up from when oiled, a 1 frame reversal with as much reach as U1 has is serious.
Couple of setups I’m rinsing right now ontop of regular grappler ticks:
oil f.mp - moves a good distance and is disadvantage on block so easy bait for somone who likes to push buttons.
slide fadc - this looks gimmicky at first glance until you remember Hakan can DNC the FADC which gives them reasons to not jump.
I feel I need to remind people how far it reaches and that its 1 frame
Since you mentioned it, i know it has awesome range, but how long it actually is?
Here’s my vid looking at uses for Tinshi’s wakeup backdash normal cancel and also showing the auto-teching abilities of Hakan’s oiled toward+roundhouse:
Now this auto-tech only works on the normal throws, right? I didn’t expect it to work on commands
