I find that any xflvl3 combo that land eyes is all you need to aim for. Once you have that on them on, you’re guaranteed a relaunch anywhere on the screen
Im looking for one without eyes because you cant use them in a happy bday combo
Well for a bday combo you could use the jump.m loop (air.m, air.m, air.h) till you get them close enough to the corner, usually around 3 reps
-Welcome, Daize, have a good time around here.!..-
What assists do u use?
So lvl 3 XFC I’ve started trying to use that will get you the kill 98% of the time goes something like this:
ground series into :d: :h: :uf: j. j.:h: j.:u: :h: land c.:h: :uf: j. c.:h: c.:u: :h: land :uf: j. j.:h: j. :u: :h: land :uf: j. j.:h: :qcf: :l: land :s: into air series of your choice.
The second crouching heavy isn’t necessary but I think it makes combo easier. Also you can mix in :qcf: in the series but it can cross you up which you can fix by doing s. into c.:h: but I prefer to stay on same side of character so I don’t use that and stick to combo above.
Note: the trick to that combo is go through the m double heavy series as fast as possible, you can’t go to fast and all those mediums should be one hit though you can get away with 2 just alot harder. Also if its a low health character or in corner can cut out 1 of the reps at any point to make combo even easier for kill.
where are you popping xfc in the combo though
well this is assuming I’m already in xf lvl 3. If i need to pop xf during combo I guess I would prolly do it after the first jump cancel loop, though without xfactor I would need to let that first j.m hit twice
So I was thinking… Whenever shuma touches you… Your character should basically die. Especially 950k and under crowd. What do ou guys think? Also, what assists do u you guys use to help shuma get in?
I use Ironman assist. But then you have to learn Ironman. =/
On a brighter note, Shuma does so much damage in the corner. I just wish it translated well mid-screen.
I somewhat agree with that statement, as long as you can get them to the corner. Otherwise you’d need a reset in there somewhere. Now my favorite assists for Shuma are Task’s Horizontal arrows, drones work really nicely if you know how to set em up right and BoB work decently well being a long lasting assist, only downside is that strange can easily get hit when you call him.
As for Zoogstin, i respect Shuma/Ironman.
can someone please explain shumas neutral to me ? Im having a tough time understanding what I should be doing and how I should be approaching…right now im trying to approach via air mystic smashes and boxjump H into L mystic smash into hit confirm whatever…if it gets blocked, i get a free jump cancelled normal into j.h xx L mystic smash which puts me back into the same situation…of course im trying to cover myself with assists, but is there anything I can do to make getting in any easier, aside from assist choice ? should I be using mystic ray for anything outside of combos ? is there anything else ? thanks yall <3
Shuma doesn’t have a neutral game, you really shouldn’t be putting him on point alot.
sooo second slot ? either way, this doesnt really help explain how to approach with him. and i kinda thought he would do best with two assists backing him…but then again, im not the one here with the shuma experience.
I like second slot personally, because most kill combos from 2 characters left will switch shuma to anchor. also its very ez to switch shuma to anchor spot, or anyone from 2 to 3 spot easily. In regards to neutral game j.m is your best tool in most matchups. Jump S is a good air to air tool since most people can’t punish it if its blocked or whiffed. Mystic ray can be useful to just stop those people that try to run away with someone like trish or something, but since it does no damage you really only throw out 2 or 3 to show him you can do it, then go after him. He has some ok pressure with TK mystic smash and frame traps etc. But to get in you basically super jumping in, mystic smashing, or just trying to outpoke them with c.m.
a shuma team should really never lose to a phoenix team (at least to phoenix herself) right
withe the recent resurgence of phoenix’s, something to keep in mind…
I really respect this team. I don’t play Shuma but I lurk the forums a bit. At one point my dream team was Shuma/Deadpool/Iron Man. Shuma Gorath with an OTG and beam assist! What could go wrong? I figured out pretty fast it wasn’t going to work for me. Hopefully you can make it work better. I think Doom would be a good Anchor for that team, so you would have Shuma/Iron Man/Doom. Iron Man really needs hidden missile or drones assist to be good (decent).
Is he a good anchor?
Should use Strange with mystic ray or Shuma with bolts?
I run Shuma/Dante/Ironman. Ironman’s unibeam is for the offensive, and Dante’s jam session is for the defensive and as well as corner lockdown. If I get the opponent to block Jam session in the corner it makes it really easy for me to get instant overhead j.S’s into death combos.
I haven’t been visiting here as much as I would like but to drop some technology:
Shuma has a corner to corner combo, i’ll try to find a vid of where I do it from the last ranbats.
Shuma can TAC-dash cancel without Xfactor, which means you cancel the first TAC into another TAC using a dash i.e. practice your tac combos since its mega free. Phoenix is mad free too.
For all of you struggling with cr.H XX mystic stare while OTGing after a Mystic Stare using the cr.H as a meaty for when the eyes pop them back up. Instantly becomes incredibly easier.
Xfactor lv3 shuma has a Mystic Smash H loop that works midscreen or corner that does 1m with literally wasting only maybe about 3 marvel seconds worth of xfactor, leaving it just at the H in shuma when looking at the UI bars. Literally, its just cr. LMH, wait a bit to get the spacing, then S into immediate up H into H mystic smash, land, wait for them to fall a bit then S into upH Mystic Smash. This is the go to loop since it does 1m meterless anywhere. It kills extremely fast and this is why shuma anchor has a sliver of hope in this crazy game. Just don’t fail the mixup and you’re still in the game.
