Just a few things…

far stand hp to flip kick does work but nothing realistic
far stand hk deff is faster and you can link into it from more stuff… But maybe the frame data was wrong at some point because im not able to link after it like it would have suggested. I got it once but im assuming I must have somehow missed a the first frame where the attack could have hit or something on a fluke. Other wise linking after it not working…
You can still duck under both elbows with attacks
Hugo has a deceptively small hit box. You cant link even link just the duck lk after bushin combo on him, let alone get a full combo off it that works on most. Other stuff like duck mp, stand hp link also doesnt work vs him. Good job capcom on taking away the fun of having characters that have diff hit boxes lol
EX hurricane still misses a lot that I saw in combos etc
running over head 2 hit to combo is distance specific on some characters. And other characters it works from anywhere
Far stand lk is like I said, it comes out at ranges that his other close normals will still come out. I dont recall which characters it hit ducking before so cant say how much the hitbox has changed in that perspective
You cant get those one combos anymore from one of my old videos. Certain characters you can time close stand hk to hit ducking, so you could do stuff like jump in, stand hk, duck hp, then sweep or whatever. That no longer works. Obviously the old gouken combos still dont work from the original SSF4 but that didnt work in AE either so…
bushin chain works a lil’ farther out, but still misses in a lot of situations. It is possible to get a far stand hp to bushin chain now but not realistic that I see.

“Nothing Realistic” - Are you saying Ninja Sickle won’t hit twice, or the distance that the enemy gets juggled isn’t useful? I’m having a hard time picturing the second scenario what with hk/ex.BSK and EX.HZO and FADC Ultra still around.

With the elbows, did you feel it was easier or harder to combo after them on hit or get punished on block, or did it feel roughly the same? Did you at least get the sense that less moves could duck under the elbows?

He basically means in the space where the combo will work it likely won’t happen very often due to possibly getting counter-poked, or you have better options for pokes there that are faster.

Doesn’t seem like elbow drop got any frame advantage changed so I guess what happens in AE2012 will still happen in Ultra without worry, so able to combo and only punished by 2 frame moves I bet.

I guess both? I mean you can obviously easily do stand hk, to flip kick, or duck hp to flip kick. And the characters flip kick only hits once if you did a jump in before hand or a focus before hand it should work. But getting a far stand hp to link to a flip kick while getting both hits to hit is pretty unrealstic that I can see. Whats more ya I guess at max range you did get much off it. In the corner you can get slide or ex shoulder. But mid screen you can only get ex shoulder at the very tip it seems.

As for elbow I just picked ryu and mashed duck mk as usual. Still lost easily that I can see.

Guess i’ll just use Cl. standing HK for ninja sickle combos, no worries there

I tried every button, there is no button you can wiff to get a safe jump off slide if they DWU. This is a huge nerf IMHO. Has anyone found safe jumps off back throw and forward throw if they DWU yet?

Because he can’t yolo in with elbow drop…

What else are you complaining about it before I think you’re over-thinking things here.

Only way to get the safe jump off slide now is to time a slight walk forward after it then jump. Not very consistent but it works.

Honestly he got everything I ever wanted from him in this version BUT delayed wake up as of right now is putting a huge wrench in everything. His back throw Oki which was so good is now gone.

Did a ground game just disappear? If they delay wakeup, go for something that isn’t a safejump, you can see when they go for delayed wake ump anyways, there are ways around things and you don’t always need to go for safejumps, if we didn’t need them in the games for SF4 to be sufficient and some characters don’t even have easy safejumps that they can always go for.

Its not like its a Guy specific nerf. Everyone lost their safe jumps. The walk speed buff is serious and guy’s footsies are better in a game that is now heavily footsie based. Two bars to free ultra. I have absolutely no complaints

More opportunities for Ultra damage and higher damage in that regard. More damage for punishes. Improved ground game, still has viable anti airs. Guy was mid tier in 2012, has potential to be top 10-15. Let the game breathe some life, make judgment in the coming 3-4 months. We still have to see what matches got effected by the changes, new setups to find and ways to apply pressure with and without runslide.

Ok guys, keep walking back and forth all day. Guy lost a huge part of his game without his safe jump and his throw nerfs. He doesn’t have set ups anymore and his throw isn’t scary so he’ll be getting less counter hits. He has no normals that fill the 11 frame gap needed to fix safe jump timing on anything as of right now. I seriously don’t understand how anyone could be so blind to see how much harder it’s going to be for Guy to do damage. All of his high low, cross up, and frame trap set ups just go bodied and go away with a simple press of two buttons. You guys act like “better footsies” means “good footsies” it doesn’t. He’s not a footsie character, he’s a mix up character with no scary mix ups anymore. He has to work a lot harder than he did before. You can give it all the time you want but time doesn’t fix frame data and mechanics.

Also need I remind you in actuality his footsies got nerfed. Guy is not a character that can hit you with a move and FADC into a solid combo. The strength of his footsies WAS that he could use s. MP to counter poke and wiff punish INTO slide which had a safe jump and pressure. Since that no longer exists his reward for playing footsies is far worse. None of his non-close mediums can be RFCed for damage, target into RFC wiffs at footsie range, he doesn’t really have much reward for even winning the footsie battle when he does. Just a bad look guys.
