I would rather for Capcom to just get rid of Guy’s ‘Close stLk’ and just allow ‘Far stLk’ to be used at any range. Wouldn’t that make a better button, especially for AAs?
That’s actually a really good idea. I mean, close and far jabs are identical in all their properties as far as I can tell…so why not the same for LK? That shitty little kick to the shins is pretty pathetic!
Idk about murder, he’ll still carry those potential 7-3s or tough 6-4s if they are reduced but overall he’ll be a contender, even moreso than he is currently in the mix of things.
Though in Ultra I do believe people will still carry what is current in AE and having a side character.
I only ever played any of the alphas very casually. Before SSF4 I mostly played ST/HDR/EX+alpha and Mortal Kombat games. I gravitated towards Guy because Final Fight is one of my favourite and most played games of all time and I always used Guy. There was faaaar too much competition in the fighting game market back in the alpha days. It’s pretty bad these days but shit was ridiculous back then.
You’re right in the matchup respect. I just think that this time around Guy’s buffs are actual buffs and not fixes. That’s what i meant by we’re getting away with murder. Not that he is going to be a top character but that we actually got legitimate buffs and not fixes. Better TC …better run stop game…better AA im happy as a clam.
Back then I actually thought alpha Guy was weak, because I didn’t know how to use him property. Then years later when I got the internet, I found out how good Guy was. I played mostly Karin and R. Minka and some Cody and Rose (alpha 2). This is the first time I actually stuck with and mained one character.
