Hello Guys I am finally back from Brazil to Tokyo after two months of vacation, beaches and a lot of beer.
I have something REALLY IMPORTANT TO ASK ALL OF YOU.
Tomorrow I am going to the location test at kichijouji, to try the 2012 beta version (I will not care about winning or losing, I will just spend some bucks on testing stuff) and of course I will take a camera with me and post all the fights here later.
So I want you Guys to tell me what do you want me to test.
So far, I have been planning on testing the following items:
1- Walk back speed and its influence on fotsie game
2- empty bunshin flip recovery speed and if it is really usable as a bait for further mix-up (as in the dev blogs example target combo > empty bunshin flip > throw)
3- Ultra 1 after FADC hozanto and Gokusa combo from various locations on the screen
4- Ultra 1 against a fireball at various distances
5- Ultra 2 command input and distance (Ill try it from a bit far from the opponent)
6- Vertical jump HP as an air to air
7- Diagonal jump MP and diagonal jump HK against Ryu’s ducks (to see to what extent its hitbox was lowered)
8- Wall jump > elbow drop; Wall jump > HK or MK (to see from where can we attack after wall jumping)
9- Throw distance and Kara Throwing with the new range
10 - elbow drop with diagonal inputs
11- See if Run > overhead doesn’t whiff against Sakura, Juri, Rose and etc.
12- See if EX Senpuukyaku hits all hits as An anti-air and if it hits Juri’s cr MK as a wake up reversal.
If we get to know how the changes are, we can ask the dev’s blog for further changing, if needed!

Wish Capcom did their homework and thoroughly researched the character’s game play mechanics, before making his entry.
technically, wouldn’t this strategy lose to those aware of or trained to use the low profile dodging tactic against the elbow?
In other words, confirm that the equation isn’t still low profile dodging > new strategies/fixes.
After Target Combo into Run slide, do neutral jump HP - does it whiff? If not, does it whiff if the oponnent getting up is not holding the stick i.e. it’s a neutral wake up?
On a good amount of characters in AE already that works… you have to time it earlier than you would nj mk from what I’ve noticed.
^ I’m not 100% sure, but maybe he was referring to Ryu and Ken. I personally asked Mr. Marques to test this in a list I compiled in one of these AE threads.
I tested it out in training mode a while back, and I personally did on both side Cpu recording and all block and Ryu would either get hit or block. It’s mainly specific timing because HP has 4 active frames while mk has 3… give you a bit more breathing room. I even saw Kiryu do it in AE once.
^If the opponent is holding back (block), then yes it will connect. But if Ryu is in a Neutral state (not blocking), then Hp will whiff.
From what I’ve been reading, Sounds like Guy will be in the upper tier, these are some nice buffs.
I doubt it, to make Guy top tier both his elbows should be overhead, his air grab should be lk+lp, ex hozanto is full screen and projectile inv. his ex bushin flip should be as fast as akumas, ultra comboes should be comboable midscreen, his slide should be the best in the game rather then the worst (like rolento in alpha 2) his wall jump should be able to go as faster then seths wall jump imo
Holy shit did you say top tier or broken? Ex hozanto full screen?? Air throw being a regular air throw input with that damage?? Better wall dive then Seth?? Lol, this is just brilliant trolling right?
I think for a character to be high/top tier they need something which is broken and abusable enough to cause a spread of 7-3 match ups. Guy didn’t ship with anything like that and buffing it into him would defy all reason so I don’t think he’s going to be rocketing to the top of the tier list any time soon.
Give Guy ability connect both TC and Bushin Chain while crouching without whiffing, raise his damage and stun output, give him more range and safer approaches and longer active frames, he’ll be top tier easy

Gokusaken Combo FADC Follow-up.
Currently you only can HK, EX Senpukyaku or U1 in Corner.
I have a lot of requests to improve Guy, Capcom, but I´m afraid you don’t want to listen. How I WISH he have at least Ex Hozanto Projectile Invencibility. You don’t fucking know how many times I lose to shit random hadokens ;_; ¿Why I don’t use normal hozantos, you ask? Hey, Do you want me lose matches 4 free? Lol…
Oh yeah, and just a little more combo ability plz, you cannot capitalize enough with him, I think. ¿Do you know you cannot FADC followup anything, Capcom? Sad.
Yeah i know that’s what i’m saying, those would make Guy the broken/Yun of 2012. they aren’t reasonable and frankly, i really don’t want guy to be anywhere close to broken, and defiantly not top tier. don’t ask why, i just like playing different characters
None of them are broken, they are just overpowered, big difference.
…There’s no way Guy will be top tier by what we know so far. People see a big list of changes and think x character is going to be so much better. Most of Guy’s “buffs” are some tweaks and fixes like increased range on throws, hitbox change on jumping hk, ex tatsu whiffing less. A good buff is walkspeed that stands out. Not sure how effective the rest of his changes will be. Even if he was the only character who received these buffs and everyone else stayed the same, he still wouldn’t be top tier and I’d bet money on that.
As it stands, some match ups will be easier, other will get harder and some are hard to predict at this time. He will be more solid now at least and that should make a difference but he still has his work cut out for him and that won’t change unless he receives further buffs. Mark my words on it.
When is the next changes anyways? I know its usually around thursday/friday but probably not this week. Lets do what we can to make our voices heard. It’s the last batch of changes the game will get. Post on unity if you can since the blog itself said that’s where they are looking (unfortunetly). Maybe Cody wont be the only FF character that gets proper attention.
I have to say, if they made it a regular throw command I would be THRILLED. lol. Wall dive don’t care, EX Hozanto full screen would be awesome, hahah.
He still wouldn’t be better than Yun tho.
