I think from the videos, that cr.mp > ex,hoz > FADC > U1 will connect from… startup position. Not midscreen but almost. And Izuna recovery is very nice too. Maybe I wished for a little faster recovery anyways .
I don’t fully understand your arguments here people… In that video, Guy loses against ryu’s cr.mk, a godly poke that have been already nerfed twice I think, and Guy loses just because lowers Ryu hitboxes a lot. When Ryu do a jump-in that’s not safe, you can stuff clean every (EVERY) jump-in from Ryu with cr.mk, a poke that lower Guy hitboxes a lot as well… But just because Guy loses his jump-in, that means he is half-developed?. In that video description, all moves listed are the ones who lowers hitboxes. YEAH Guy have hard time against crouchers and I wish Elbow at least, with no chip and all, hit deep enough to prevent this shit. Maybe is time to take action before the patch is out? And remember that some air normals have their hitboxes increased to prevent this.
By the way, I agree in the random character hitboxes. Character inconsistencies are plain shit, for Guy, and for everyone else, but is pretty much a common trait for everyone.

The walk back speed is what he needed against akuma. Guy was already good and all hes getting is buffs. The beauty of playing an underrated character! Just look at Gen
Now at least it will be easier to neutral jump with Fierce as a safe jump and hopefully the match against gief gets a little easier because of that. Not to mention Jumping in Dhalsim might be a lot better now
Again just to reiterate I listed all the moves you can literally just mash in a brain dead fashion vs guy. No thought process, when you say guy take in the air. Yes other characters have attacks that can go under moves as well. Hell lets use ryu vs ryu as a example. A common low as a anti air in this matchup might be the duck forward vs say a air hurricane kick if you see it coming. You do not however duck forward instinctively everytime you see ryu go in the air what so ever Because obviously that would not be safe. But this is not the case when you play guy. You CAN lame him out. Its really just a lack of knowledge, or not even trusting in how strong the lame ability is. It would be one thing if it was just slides because stuff like that has always existed. But in this case we have entire moves like bushin flip are really useless unless the opponent is just not in the know, and forgets or something. Yes its already been stated that jump hk and jump mp have bigger hit boxes. But they also have bigger hurt boxes as well from what I read on the japanese page. This could very well = that buff out. Whatever the case 1. how many times do you get to jump in with a full screen jump hk or jump mp before hand. Which in the last game only even HIT a low profile move in the first place if it was down as low as possible. And in many realistic situations jump hk won’t hit a a low profile move ethier. And from what ive skimmed from the japanese right now the only thing that is noticeable is the throw range on normal and ultra/ultra 1 going farther, and ex hurricane kick. Everything else has been pretty moot or not good enought o matter. (cough bushin flip still has recovery so where it says to use it, and how to use it… yea good luck unless the opponent is sleeping)
^ If I see any top Japanese Guy Players using set ups with Bushin Flip, I’ll probably disregard your last comment, But from my guess it gives you a better spot to escape from the corner… and if your opponent chases you to punish (some characters can) maybe Guy will recovery in time to punish them or block.
I think Guy neds to have his jump MK hitbox lowered a bit, it would be great if elbow got a bigger hitbox but I think its the other characters hurtboxes that cause it to whiff.
In any case I can see this become a headache and a viable anti-Guy tactic in the future… no joke.
So yeah I think if the hitboxes are to ever be changed it would be about now, so I would say speak up.
Also does the new movement on Ultra 1 allow Guy to Punish a Cammys Ultra 1 on Block… cause that would be beyond awesome, is there a video showing the distance it can travel yet away from the corner?
Are people also aware that characters like Juri,Yun and possibly others can meaty Guy with low forward on his wake up for free - and his ex tatsu reversal would completely whiff because of their lowered hitbox?
I was playing a fairly experienced Juri player who was doing this to me yesterday. So I did wake up ultra 1 which is ironically 3 times slower than ex tatsu, but it sure didn’t whiff!
People are aware, there are quite a few characters that can do that to Guy, but with the fix on EX tatsu in 2012 it might change that, but we haven’t seen anything yet, so right now its still a mystery though they say they altered the hitbox to hit low profile characters.
J.mk is fine, most j.mk, at least all shoto like j.mk whiff on low profile moves, it’s not guy specific. the real problem is elbow drop., it’s not an overhead, it doesnt do cheap, and it is shouldnt be duckable. people get to duck j.mk because they tried to duck elbow drop.
Be specific, Command Elbow drop is already an overhead, and isn’t meant to do chip*, Bushin Elbow Drop that’s a different story, that should at least do chip, for them to make it an overhead, they would have to alter the start up on it, and by that they would probably make it more like it was in alpha where Guy would stall a bit in the air before descending. What it really needs its either extended hitbox or everyone’s hurtbox to be raised… i don’t think Capcom will do either at this point. But if anything the extended hitbox would be it.

And this shows again that CAPCOM knows perfectly what’s wrong with every character and every move of the entire game and not fixing whatever, is just plain trolling and personal decisions from top heads, about what characters should be in top and what not, because they said so.
PS. But pretty happy about the balances in the 2012 version. I think Guy buffs will close the gap.
that’s why I said the real problem is elbow drop, people dont cr.mk shoto cross up because of j.hp, people shouldnt cr.mk our cross up because of elbow drop, sadly it is duckable too.
Hmmmmm… i’ve been thinking about these mp and hk buffs… anybody else thinks we might be able to do instant overheads like chun n vega? oh and btw guy’s overhead (f.mp) only hits once on a crouching honda. lets start making noise about this and target combo still whiffing on certain characters…
Yeah, none of the elbows are overheads. I think bushin flip not hitting overhead is fine. That’s not the issue with it really. However command elbow could stand to be an overhead. It’s so slow I couldn’t see anyone not being able to react to it. I think their reasoning is all those types of moves you can block low. Like the dive kicks and what not. The thing is those moves are hella fast so I can see why they made those low blockable. It would be nice to have the elbow be an overhead or better yet speed up the desent of the drop to make it as fast as the dive kicks. haha I can see the online rage now.
