Shoto? Ky isn’t really a shoto-like character at all. The only similarites they have are the fireball+uppercut attack. That’s it. Ky’s pretty damn un-shoto-like, if you ask me.
And no offense or anything, but why should people who don’t like oddball characters like Zappa, Dizzy, ABA and Eddie get screwed by having a nerfed character? I’m glad they bumped Ky up, he sure needed it. I bet May wishes they’d throw her a bone, too…

In the English version of XX and #R, Ky says something about not being used to fighting girls when he beats Jam in Arcade and Versus mode. Well, that’s just poor translation by Majesco. We can’t expect much from people that managed to dub Force Roman Cancel as False Roman Cancel in the first place.
Anyhow, this is what Ky actually says: “Please, can you not kick your legs so high? Oh!? Sorry!!!”. That’s the real translation (my translation). I’m fluent in Japanese, I kid you not. I guess Ky has a phobia of panties. 
Ky isn’t gay, he’s puritanical. That’s the whole point of his character and why he has quotes like that one. This is why Slayer says to him “Why is a man like you afraid of sin?”.

If ky is shoto, then Sol is Shoto++. I don’t hear anyone whining about Sol. That’s what I thought.
Well, I think we’ve all played Sol to a certain extent when we were introduced to Guilty Gear. But Sol has much more depth than Ky, IMO.
And Kasou understands what I was talking about. I see the new Ky as a turn-off because he was always a easy character to use… and now he’s powerful at the same time. This is a good news for Ky users, but it really doesn’t seem fair in a sense that there is no apparent consideration for risk aversion involved in choosing to play him.
Ky and Sol are both gay and this is because they were designed to be gay. They are the *INCORRECT TERMINOLOGY SHIT males, they are supposed to have a sort of weird psuedo-sexual love hate thing going, and there has been official art released of the two of them in extremely risque poses with each other. It’s just part of what they did with Guilty Gear, pretty much every character is supposed to appeal to some sort of fetish. KY IS GAY, PEOPLE, IT’S PART OF HIS CHARACTER DESIGN. He may also be tapping Jam on the side, but only Sol can ever have his love.
