thanks, i did look at this information prior to making my requests. the only problem i’m finding is that I can’t get more than 50 hits before the snapshot (so no level 4). trying to figure a consistent way to do this aside from in the corner. ill keep testing and as soon as i find a good one i’ll make a video and post the options ive come up with !

Vergil can level up Frank various ways
Drones are there for Frank read that you guys have some Sentinel+Frank tech
Drones help Vergil somewhat but theyre not amazing for him and haven’t found any decent combo extensions with Vergil for drones which hurts because I already have to save my groundbounce to levelup frank west
But I’d like to get you guys opinion I was currently running x-23/Vergil/Frank and I had some success but idont like that once I level frank up rapid slash isn’t enough for runaways so I’d like to see how sentinel would be in the mix and if second slot is better for frank?
Sounds solid to me, i wouldn’t put it in the absolute top tier of Frank teams, but it seems like a decent High B.

Hello, so trying to come up with a new main team that is a more solid all around than my Firebrand/Doom(rocks)/Ammy team. Im not gonna get into the problems with my old team but I can tell you Im looking for a team that rewards skills of the player. Im not looking for gimmick mix ups or be a one trick pony.
I am thinking about either
Dante(jam)/Vergil/Frank
Mags(beam)/Vergil/Frank
Anyone have experience which one is more solid or even I take videos of players with either team. I can decided myself.

im thinking about rocking Modok (barrier/bomb)/frank west (cart)/doom (hidden missiles)
Anyone got some things I should know in particular about synergy between frank/modok or frank/doom missiles?
Things that I typically rely on to level frank
- TAC into MODOK, cube combo super, dhc whiff tools, snapshot (always level 5,but sometimes modok beam kills -_-)
- frank combo into hard knockdown, THC with modok, snapshot (rarely level 4)
- frank on point, random THC with 2 bars, OTG off of the modok extended hyper, continue combo usually level 3.
help me out dudes! anyway to combo off of modok assists like the bomb? I haven’t found a reliant option.
How about hidden missiles? I’m assuming with frank on point I should do ground string, launcher, MMHS, otg with qcf+H, cr H, S+ missiles, sj MMHS, jump (missiles OTG here) knee drop, snapshot.
Is there something I can do that’s better? like isntead of knee drop can i do snapshot otg (missiles hit) and then follow up that with like launcher sj S? or idk maybe knee drop there? in testing i always fail during the missiles so not sure if its even possible.

Hey guys, I’m having some mild issues with my team right now. I know 2 characters I’m going to run but that last character is bothering me so I could use a little help. The 2 characters are Spencer and Frank. I’ve run 2 seperate teams since release, Spencer/Hulk/Doom and Skrull/Frank/Raccoon. I stopped running the latter cause I just stopped liking the other 2 characters. I only recently discovered that there was Spencer/Frank tech (been a little ignorant and then I watched Bee and essentially said “They’ve discovered tech between 2 of my 3 favourite characters in the game. I must have this.” So I did. Got the TACs down, got the DHC zigzag hard tag down and replaced Hulk with Frank. Issue is now there’s a 3rd slot to fill that can legitimately go on point, 2nd or anchor and there are too many options and I don’t know Frank or Spencer’s H. Grapple assist well enough to pick. There are a few characters I’ve tried, Haggar, Nova and Doom to be exact but they don’t seem to work with the way I play too well. Well Nova does but he’s a little wacky with Spencer A assist instead of his B. I don’t want to run Dante or Vergil because I just don’t. I don’t really know where that leaves me. Keep in mind I’m a bit of a scrub when it comes to mid combo DPs. If I weren’t Spiderman would be an obvious choice.
I think that Frank can do picture to SRK+M with the restand assist btw. It might be worth looking into.
Dante, Nova, Haggar, MODOK, Vergil would all be good choices. Captain America would be a good choice too IMO (but not the greatest)
Just tried it, slant shot’s hitstun is actually pretty pathetic and the combo drops if I try to boot them. I could be wrong since I didn’t get much of a chance to try it but from what I did it never worked.
I know that I’d probably be best off going for Vergil but I’m one of those guys who likes to enjoy playing the team I’m playing and Vergil is just no fun for me. Same with Dante. Haggar’s definitely a possibility. MODOK and I don’t get along. Cap, another possibility. A couple little concepts I’ve come up with, and tell me what you think on these, were Wolvy/spank and Doom/spank. Wolvy with the Shopping cart can capitalize off an air throw and if there isn’t an air throw he can air series relaunch air series into OTG + cart assist into Berserker barrage X, DHC into Manuevers, zig zag punch and hard tag for a level 4 or 5 frank (Not sure yet, haven’t tested. Doom can get his plasma beam into finger lasers after the foot dives and DHC to spencer for the same purpose. Wolvy also has the form change DHC trick. Neither make particularly good use of the H. Grapple but sometimes you have to pass cause for almost everyone but Frank and Dante it’s a pretty crappy assist.
Slant shot works early in combos only. Like after the first j.S, call spencer, snapshot, H, S and so on. I run Haggar on point with these two (with slant shot). I made a post about how to get level 5 of any hit here. Its a fun team, has major problems getting in on heavy zoners though.
If you are set on using H grapple assist, then maybe Chris. He can combo after a raw magnum with it. Can’t really think if any other chars not mentioned that utilize it well.
Doom or Wolverine could work, DHC into Spencer works for both. You could probably use just about anyone on point that doesn’t rely on wallbounces and do the same.
Maybe you could try spank/anchor, then you don’t have to worry about making spencers assist work with another char. Arthur, RR, Task or Ammy would work well.
I like the H. Grapple cause it allows the TAC option well. I know only frauds use TACs to level Frank but having the option available is never really a bad thing. If slant can only be used early in the combo that’d break it. It’d work with the Spank/anchor option but part of me likes the idea of falling back on Spank if I get bopped in the point war. I kinda feel that Spencer is my best character is why.
Either way all this discussion has opened my eyes to a good few possibilities. Haggar seems more appealing cause I’ll admit, I had no idea how to properly combo into RFF until you pointed me to that post you made. At the same time though zoning is becoming a big thing and Doom assists are a problem so Wolvy’s a good option as well cause he can bypass that stuff with relative ease. I’ve put up a thing in the Spencer forum about his H grapple to see if anyone can give me some more ideas.
A quick tidbit before I head to bed is that I have realized there’s actually some synergy with Nova and H grapple. You can essentially get the same results from it as you would with Slant but without the Nova Strike. It’s a bit less damage but the objective’s too level frank and the damage is still pretty good, enough to bring a lot of characters to within chip range with lvl 4 Ms. Just a note for some more Spank concepts.
Who is a good anchor who can cover Level 5 Frank West’s weaknesses? I will be running Spidey/Frank/??? and Jill/Frank/???.
found a cool bit of frank/spidey tech today, havent used it in an actual match yet, but it enables you to get to level 4 frank from a forward throw and costs 1 bar. it only works midscreen though…
basically after forward throw you should call spiderman web ball assist and then go right into shopping cart super. after the wall bounce they will actually land right on top of the web ball, giving you enough time to wavedash up and combo after it using :s: do a short combo and then finish with a double snapshot using dante ham session and you get level 4. only problem is franks throw range seems pretty ass so i always end up getting pie toss instead which is not very good at all.
you can actually do this from any shopping cart super midscreen actually. just as long as you call spidey right before you do it. it may work with other assists as well.
Thanks to everyone for helping me with my MOdok/frank/doom team. I have figured out a few things and I thought I’d share them here just in case anyone else was trying to do use a similar team and wanted a good starting point.

In order to generate at least 50 hits, you need to have 2 cubes stored. This combo works in the corner and will get you the two cubes. Also, you must DHC AFTER the last hit of the MOdok super hits… This way the whiffed Frank super will guarantee a hard knockdown and you can take a picture. If you DHC too early, then it will be a soft knockdown which you will not have enough time to combo off of in most situations.

This is pretty simple, just a simple combo with missiles added and then at least a 2 bar THC. make sure u mash the shopping cart so you have enough hits to get level 4.

this final video is just a bnb in level 4 with doom missiles. anyway i can optimize this or improve the ending of the combo? like i was thinking that after the wall boucne i could connect with the dp+M, then dp+H but i had issues doing this.
I have one of my side teams consisting of Frank/Arthur/Iron Man, and although it is a tougher way to get Frank to level up I have much more fun with it as well as being able to play and space as lvl 1-2 Frank on point. Assist choices help a bunch not just for Frank but for the entire team, with shopping cart assist; fire bottle toss assist; and repulsor blast assist, helping me in their own way. I am able to get straight from level 1 to 5 with this setup as well.
