Well, I have both tech and a request for combo help. I figured out a very dirty instant overhead for Frank with Taskmaster arrows. cr.H and call Task, roll, then before the Taskmaster arrows hit, dash forward into a j.L , the arrows combo it into knee drop. Tools H, then enjoy the followup. I’m testing it on crouching Jill right now, so it works on a lot of smaller crouchers. It works midscreen and corner, and works whether you are advancing guarded or not, though you do have to make sure you have the wherewithal to know when you cross up or not. However, I do not know what is optimal to follow that up with. This is a solo followup, as I have Peekaboo assist as my other supporting assist, not so great for groundbounce cancelling. Anyway, the best solo followup to a knee QCF+H, anyone have something for me?
What level of Frank? Corner or midscreen?
4, either midscreen or corner, though I have proficient corner stuff. I just never learned Frank assistless combos because all my other teams had two assists to groundbounce cancel with, and I always got more damage than most people by just using the assists. Peekaboo, I gotta change up my combo game.
I fell for this and played Nova/Frank/Arthur for quite a while and I have to agree with you here. It all looks great on paper because you have a contingency plan to level Frank off any touch and a great full-screen assist in the back but if your opponent knows what he’s doing against Arthur he really doesn’t cut it when it comes to making comebacks.
I really wish there was a solid anchor with a projectile assist and a THC that leads to levels but as far as I can tell you can’t have it every way and the best you can really hope for is 2/3. The leveling THC is most important to me so I can convert throws and knee drops, followed by them being a solid anchor because I never want to feel like the game is over when I still have characters left. That leaves projectile assist as the odd man out and of the different options on characters that fit the other 2 criteria I’m feeling like Ammy and Dante are ahead of the pack with Cold Star and Jam Session.
Frank/Deadpool/Doom is my current Frank team. Anyone know of any Frank Deadpool tech beside Team Super?

Frank West Level Up Strategies
Not to be a dick but why not look in the forums before asking this question? They’re literally on the first page of both. Unless you meant with only Frank on point, if so pardon me. I know if you’re using quickwork as an assist, if you tag them with a projectile while calling it you have enough time to combo. Also Quickwork sets up excellent unblockables
I hate posts like this.
FFS, there’s so much information in EVERY SINGLE DAMN thread and you people choose to lazily post and disregard every other post. We should not cater to your needs, we are not your parents.
Deadpool tech is out there, go read posts.
Wish I could double like this
As for the most effective Frank team, wouldnt Nova/Vergil/Frank be one of the best? Nova super DHC to Vergil swords, and do that washingmashine thing and rawtag in Frank West to snap?
If nova dies you are left with Vergil/Frank, and do the Sword -> washingmashine -> rawtag snap, and then you have lv 4/5 frank with Vergil anchor?
I really feel that there’s 3 or so really good Frank builds. ???/Vergil/Frank, ???/Trish/Frank, and Frank-helping point (Superskrull, Nova, Nemesis, Deadpool, Dante, RR, there’s a lot)/Frank/Anchor.
A lot of people have the potential to be really solid with Vergil/Frank, though you have to be careful about using up the ground bounce with Nova. Also, Cap’s good, Wesker would work, same with Magneto, C.Viper, Spencer, Taskmaster, and maybe Trish. Oh, and if you’re into point Dormammu, that may work too. X-23 as well, though I feel there are better teams for her.
No fullscreen neutral for Nova, no neutral assist at all for Frank, no TAC options, the risk of killing the character before you get Frank leveled and the ability to punish Frank for taking a photo via neutral tech doesn’t sound very effective to me at all.
I think the at the end of the day the best team for frank is either bee’s team or virgil rapid slash / frank cart / dante jam session. In both those cases it’s easy to get frank to level 4 and both have options to tod if landing a tac.
A lot of those issues are solved by doing Nova Force, DHC Devil Trigger, Raw Tag Frank. You get a decent bootleg coverage assist with DT’d Rapid Slash, which is a pretty good neutral assist for Frank. You can cut the combo shorter to get guaranteed levels, and there’s no neutral punish danger.
Just got to be aware of the matchup and know whether to go for the kill on the first character, the Swords DHC raw tag, or the DT raw tag.
You don’t as long as you have assist available, you can call Nova assist as soon as you DHC to swords and get your bounce back.
It doesn’t solve the important ones. Neutral punishing Frank for snapshots is only mitigated by either having enough time to backdash before the snap, or having a meter to cancel into survival techniques. DT raw tag won’t do that for you unless the raw tag puts you far enough away (which admittedly it might, but at the very least it won’t in the corner). And using Vergil has a coverage assist is like Zero with raikousen; visually it -looks- like you can’t punish it, but he comes out before the slashes do and can be hit out of it easily if you stay grounded. Can even block it and punish it as long as he stays on the screen. TACing Frank is still out of the picture, and while I don’t think it should be your go-to option it’s good to have available. And most importantly, you still lack coverage/support for nova beyond midscreen; if you want to win with Frank teams, first touch should always be your priority.
With the DT setup, you have enough time to backdash, or if you have the relevant assist available you can use Nova to enhance your options for extra pictures, safety, or resets.
I know Rapid Slash isn’t the safest or greatest of assists, but it does offer stuff for Frank, confirms off full screen zombies for one, and at the same time having your opponent throw buttons out at an assist isn’t necessarily awful when you have one of the best whiff punishers in the game.
The team definitely has problems, but all Frank teams do, it’s the nature of the beast. But i still feel like it’s in the top 3 Frank teams.
i’ve been trying to develop a team for ghost rider with modok and i had noticed a video of windzero using frank west with modok to abuse the THC. it isn’t the greatest but i always thought it was pretty cool.
That said, one shell i’ve been working on is ghost rider (wall bounce)/frank (cart)/modok.
The cart is so good for ghost rider, and I’ve found that if i’m in the corner i can pretty much DHC into tools of survival whiffed and get lvl 4. What i’m looking for, is what anyone thinks the best modok assist is for frank? I’m looking primarily for something that can replace haggar lariat in this particular combo

In testing, it looks as if modok bomb is the only thing that could work as barrier doesn’t help in this regard and it seems as if the beam pushes them too far away to consistently get a relaunch.
The other option is I just lose the novelty of a frank/modok thc and put doom in the back. I’ve been using beam as its great with ghost rider, but i’m open to assist suggestions… i know rocks works well for solo frank combos but are people really suggesting that?
Doom is a much better choice for Ghost rider also, so i would go for that. Doom missiles hit both on the way up and on the way down if you time GR QCB+L. I think the notation is something like this: H,H, DP+L, H,H+A1 (missiles) xx QCB+L (add backdash) - Some missiles should be in the air now, but the QCB+L should have dropped your opponent on top of the last few missiles that come up from doom, making it OTG so that you get - QCB+H, rest of the missiles hit making it OTG again, H,H QCB+M (or DP+M, the one that gives hard knockdown) and you can do the cycle super ^^ There are video of this in the GR thread, and it is very possible that i have the wrong notations, but you get my drift: Missiles are good for Ghost Rider ^^
so i usually use this combo, but its very inconsistent (the 1st missile is very difficult to time and depends on character size). also, i’ve usually ended it with the close range whip as if i end it with qcb+M/H then i can’t connect the bike super if i’m mid screen. (which is typically whereyou end up in this situation.)
I’ll continue to mess around. Just trying the best ways to level frank with the team. simplest solution with 2 bars i have is to just do this (ghost rider point):, H, H, qcb+L, bike super, S ender, dhc whiff survival tools, snapshot+ghost rider wallbounce assist, knee drop, snapshot.
I’m lookign for something a little more swag that is universal.
If you run GR/FW/DOOM, do a combo where you save your wallbounce, end it with a super DHC to frank wests shopping cart super and do a followup S j.S picture xx super.
You should be able to time GR cycle super (the S variant) it so that when you DHC, your opponent will be the right height for it to follow up ^^
problem is that the follow up, even with double picture, doesn’t get me close to level 4. I need to figure out why, maybe after picture + assist I should try relaunch and figure out how to optimize the air string before i take the last picture. i dont think i can get more than just relaunch, sj hs, land snapshot as a follow up tho. thanks anyway! i’ll continue to work on it.
