I actually don’t play Vergil; I just make it my business to be informed in general, especially when its regarding Frank. Rapid slash can extend pretty much corner-only if memory serves; you can get a launcher off it after 1 air series with timing, but it doesn’t work outside the corner since it pushes them too far away. Might be able to do it off a judgement cut after one air series, but I don’t know.
Easiest Vergil swords combo I’m aware of is Helm breaker x2 into Rising Sun (or whatever SRK M is, I forget the names).
Regarding raw tags, Haggar can, Vergil can, Spider man can. Any character who has an incapacitation state or crumple can as well, but that usually causes several complications in terms of setting it up (it often requires Spencer’s slant shot to do it mid combo and you don’t necessarily have enough time to raw tag Frank in due to assist cooldown). Power up hypers also work off of a survival techniques, among a few other hypers as well (Rocket Raccon’s trap for example).
If you can do snapshot >> hyper grav >> roundhouse, then yes. The roundhouse hard knockdown gives you enough time to backdash then snapshot, putting you out of a neutral tech punish range . If you can’t though you’d be better off only taking one snap 'cause smarter players will eat your Frank for doing that.
lol, I wont be the one looking fraudulent if you’re trying to rely on having 3 meters in order to make that combo safe =P. Doubt it builds much more than 1.5
can someone help me out im building my team around spiderman and i pick up frank and i was trying to figure out ways to level him up could someone give me some tips all i can get right now is a level 3 frank west off my combo…my line up is Spidey/frank/doom
That should help you out some. I know that he has good DHC from Maximum Spider.
Depending on the assists you bring to the table you can get some really good setups with the hard tag setups or the DHCs. I’m sure with any of Spiderman’s assists and some creativity you can easily get two snapshots.
What’s everyone’s opinion of Frank/Strider? I was thinking of running a Nova/Frank/Strider team so I have access to Strider anchor but I’m not too sure how well he works with Frank. Any thoughts? Ive been experimenting with Nova/Frank/Dante as well.
Honestly, Vajra itself might be great for Frank. You can just chill in your side of the screen and if they get tagged by Vajra you can probably barrel roll into range and get them with Heavy Tools. In that sense, it’s cool. However, in my experience strider offers literally no way to level up aside from TACs so I’m not sure about it. He’s great on Nova though, so it might work in about the same sense as Hawkeye does.
Yeah, Nova/x/Strider is very very good. My whole idea is the momentum of getting that first hit Nova and having a lvl 5 Frank AND a dark Strider. I’ll try it out.
Have Trish second, safe DHC, and a lot can go into Frank. Her point, slap Vergil second, and then you have a very strong team (she has long combos that don’t involve a ground bounce, DHC to vergil, whatever into lunar phase, take dat pic). Other than that.
Or if you hit them with a peekaboo early, immediately whiff a DHC to something fast (mode or counter super), and they’re put into a funny flying state, tag in frank, pic, and if you have an assist to extend off a pic, that’s how you’ll actually do some levels. Otherwise, you have to do so few hits before the trap that only one picture off it would be inefficient.
I feel she is great with frank depending on the third member. Also, I like Frank with low voltage, good for extension and decently durable.
So anyway, Hi guys! I’ve been lurking around here for a while and talking to people here, but I’ve never actually really done much on the Frank forums. I have been running Frank since ultimate came out on like 5 different teams. Ammy/Frank/Deadpool, TAC stance stuff, then Skrull/Frank/Ammy, then Nova/Frank/Ammy, then Firebrand/Trish/Frank, and I realize that I’m pretty bad with all of them. In my character crises, I never fully learn Frank’s compliments and end up requiring a lvl1 Frank comeback as a way to win. Bleh. So, screw it, I’m running a team I can win with. And I need some help here.
So, my thoughts are I want to either run Haggar/Frank or Vergil/Frank. I know Haggar and Vergil pretty well, though the team I run Vergil on doesn’t let him abuse M teleport crossups as much as cart would. For the first, Haggar would be point, Frank preferably third, but I would need a second that can help Haggar get in, probly a projectile. And Vergil would be second, DHCs out from a guy not using the ground bounce, and then Lunar Phase into hard tag, as well as occasionally Vergil DHCing his Maximum Vergil into whiffed tools.
So, yeah. Thoughts? Taskmaster seems like a nice third man (point or second) to both ideas, and Trish would work pretty well, too. Cap I’ve done some testing with, works fine with the Vergil setup. And that’s all I have right now.
