Nah i was way off with Hanza i dropped that after a chapter or two.
Just the summary sounded good.
Well it is very similar to Shamo in the juvenile system but it’s far more brutal than Shamo ever was.
As it goes on it goes in an entirely different route though.
Dunno how closely or how far it follows the Anime as the majority of the manga is not even close to translated but the Anime has a pretty definitive ending to it.
The manga ended in the beginning of this year so they weren’t really worked under any constraints that would force them to makeup any new ending like the Gantz anime did but i am also fairly sure they just can’t fit as much in the Anime considering it’s only 26 episodes while the manga is 240’ish chapters. So there is probably some stuff left out.
I’d still watch the anime though rather than wait for all those chapters to be translated which might not even happen.
^I like the original baki the most, the NGB one pisses me off, and SoO Baki isn’t that much better but not bad either/
I don’t think Rumina would be of any consequence, he hasn’t really displayed any real desire to fight, nor the mentality the high end guys in Baki has, but who knows. I’m actually hoping for another series, but Ita is really dragging his feet here, and its also hurting his Scarface spin-off with Hanayama, because Scarface actually takes place 5 years AFTER Baki vs Yuujirou at the end of SoO, which is one of the reasons Baki hasn’t appeared in Scarface at all, and Yuujirou got a guest panel during some side arc.
Yajima Kintaro used to be the charismatic leader of a biker gang. Then he retired to have a family. With his wife dead in childbirth, and all alone with a baby boy, Kintaro now embarks upon a new adventure - as the strangest salaryman in all of Japan.
You all need to watch this show.
Oh and don’t you dare drop it until atleast having seen the second episode.
@Shari yeah I saw Meguru updated earlier, kotonoha is really burning the midnight oil. its looking like Yudai may forfeit, so I wonder who meguru will have to fight if he wins this grapplefest in order to fight Takashi, but even then Meguru hasn’t shown anything that can counter that upper Takashi throws
I see your point here really, there was NO FUCKING REASON FOR ALI JR. TO JOB!!!
That set such a bad taste in my mouth, NGB Baki was completely fucking lazy, a spoiled brat who wouldn’t fight for anything until he got poonani from Kozue. Then when she disappeared at the end of NGB he went back to the same ole shit. and for the fights he did have
Prisoners: Ok he got all souped up after the poonani volume, but still got scrubbed by Yanagi’s poison.
Ali Jr: …
Kaioh’s son: No excuse for him taking him out in two seconds, as renowned as his son was, and as hard a time as Yuujirou had with his father until using the Oni Muscles(and even then Kaku Kaioh still gave him shit) there was really no justified way he got ezmode there.
The only challenging match he had was against the poison master, and that was directly because of Yanagi’s poison in the first place.
SOO is more tolerable because he got the obvious fight with Oliva(would’ve had to happen at some point to measure himself against his father), though how he won that was moronic but whatever.
That put him in direct contention with his old man as far as I’m concerned, but then sure enough the series had to be dragged out so here comes Pickle. Pickle even spooks Yuujirou, trashes Retsu/Katsumi/Jack(which doesn’t make sense either especially after Jack getting the bone graft and newer steroids making him much stronger than Retsu/Katsumi but O.K.)
Ok so now Baki preps to fight Pickle, but can’t even make his aura appear, outright saying that Pickle is indeed stronger than Yuujirou. That fight occurs, Baki “wins”, and now we got the dragged out Retsu/Smokin fight(which btw had another drag out chapter which wasn’t even necessary) and the Baki/Chiharu incident(though it seems there was some kind of point for that which we should know whenever Sonikku translates the chapters)
so like stabby said some fights baki really should not have won in SoO, but at the very least he’s actually doing something, unlike NGB where he was basically cruise mode
though its also amazes me how Yuujirou, being the pre-set broken character of the series, has had the most balanced/interesting fights in each of the three series
^I would definitely like a Yuujirou gaiden series, as even though he’s the main antagonist, we still know very little about him, especially the post birth period before he started fighting in vietnam, I’d like to see just how he was raised if he was giving his mom orders ever since he was born(and it would be really interesting if she came back into the story somehow, especially for the final confrontation between Baki/Yuujirou, as she obviously knows what he’s become from her bit piece in Advent of Ogre
^Says Baki, because he can make Yuujirou’s fighting aura appear without any difficulty, but he couldn’t make Pickle’s appear, despite trying many times, leading him to declare that Pickle was the stronger person. Also, in the contest of strength when Pickle was confronted by several of the characters, remember he pushed Yuujirou back easily until forced off his feet.
