I just came in here to post that as I found this thread searching for updates to Son of Ogre/Boy Fascinating the Fighting God(the second title is really cool IMO) as I started reading New Grappler baki around Aug, stopped when finals week came around, finished it AND son of ogre up to chapter 130 and the pickle special on this one site. It was translated by Wild Fang Project and reading through tis thread I didnāt realize there was a problem with them. Why are they so bad?
Gourmet cells in Toriko arenāt like anything else. Get the cells, eat tasty food, power up for some reason.
Out of the heavenly kings, Coco seems the best at low tier and garbage at high tier.

Thereās no problem with the WFP as far as the grappler baki thread as a whole is concerned, My personal problem with them rests with their figurehead leader Ichido, thereās a whole lot of drama there you may have skimmed reading this thread, and Ichido himself is very unpopular with other scanlaters/manga sites, due to his personality as well as the way the WFP does things, thats a quick summary. But once again welcome to the thread, this is the grappler baki thread on here but we also discuss other martial arts related manga(though MANga like Toriko get a pass even though its not really martial arts) in here, so feel free to chime in with anything you think we may like
Itās possible Yuujirou could do that, with him learning Xiao Lee just after seeing it demonstrated to him once, though youāre probably being facetious. Though as Froggy mentioned, he typically wouldnāt do that as he has confidence in his own power, not needing to rely on othersā techniques.

also for my tough guys, a new group picked up the second series(though I think one of the guys posted it already), and thereās some new chapters up out of the hyper battle, also, Illuminati Manga did a massive release on Christmas, and they released two volumes of Koukou Tough(first series), havenāt gotten a chance to get into them yet, but the Tough 2nd chapters are really good, itāll be interesting to see how the Nadashinkage lineage dispute plays out, theyāre worse than the damn Mishimas >_<

No, he can just slice or impale things with shuto or nukite strikes respectively. If you see the image of a knife or fork overlaid over his strike (like seeing the aura of a wolf overlaying Yamchaās roga fufu ken in DB), that just to let less astute people understand that itās the attack heās using if him shouting the attack isnāt enough of a clue.

I still donāt get the end of Baki vs. Pickle. I mean if Yujiro says he won Iāll trust him on that but still it was probably the weirdest āwā Iāve seen. As for other martial arts manga, I like the props boxing gets, even if itās a super silly series, in HSDK. Takedaās probably one of the coolest members of the cast, albeit not the brightest cat.

yeah there are some martial arts mangas that really give boxing its due, though Baki is notorious for not being one of them hahaha. Also there are quite a few dedicated boxing mangas(though some of the really good ones are hard to find/unknown) just a few off the top of my head:

also, explanation of Baki vs Pickle, itās a āwinā for Baki because Pickle was forced to use martial arts to subdue Baki as he was getting beat out in a pure power exchange. A view held by a lot of martial artists is that martial arts originated as a way for the weak to overcome the strong(I highly disagree here but moving along), so Pickle being forced to use a martial arts technique was him admitting that he was weaker than Baki, thus a ālossā to Pickleās pride(a man who fought the strongest creatures on earth having to use a technique of the weak)even though he physically won. Baki on the other hand was able to roughouse Pickle with both martial arts and sheer brute strength which was Pickleās forte, he didnāt have to break any of his principles during the fight.
