Let`s not forget that Baki knows how to throw a punch for his light frame - see the Oliver fight, which is still really WTF; how was he able to out power Oliver? It seems he was about to do the same thing to Pickle. Baki never used speed, it was all technique -- it was the whole Modernman versus Caveman thing, going back to Jack. Baki figured that since he`s beaten him with technique, lets go for a purer win with power. That`s my 2 cents
New Chapter Summary – Hatoyama(Jap Pres) and the doctor say they can grant Tokugawas wish , which Tokugawa whispers to him in secret. Next scene is a Boxing gym with a Boxing Champion who looks verymuch like the Philippines Manny the pacman champion boxer. He sees and asks Retu to spar, Retu refuses saying that he couldnt go to power and it looks like in the next chapter Retu will be forced to spar. The End.

i wish i was a millionaire, because i would pay for some new ovas with good animation. hell, ill take a supped up version of the 90s ova. dont even need to be like madhouse quality or anything, although that would be nice. i would like to get up to the introduction of pickle on the ovas. i say ovas because quality is usually guaranteed over them just continuing the series. prisoner arc, chinese arc, and the soo arc. i would really love to see the prisoner arc, and chinese arc done in good quality, especially the prisoner arc because there was a ton of fighting then.

Finally read it. Here`s what went down.
Basically, Boxing is whack. Just a bunch of dramatics about how everyone and the trainer knew something bad was going to happen when Retu got into the ring. Retu claims that boxing is just undeveloped kenpo that just uses fists. He takes a wide open stance that Manny gets perplexed by and when he goes for the Punch – boom, game over.
In my opinion, it seems like Retue is out of real matches and I think this is like asorry for taking your leg away chapter of filler by the author
I miss the old days when Mr. Oliver was cool and they still had a cool caste of fighters. I still wanna know what the hell happenned to the old Aikido guy. Aikido is crap but in the Baki comic worl, that old guy was a cool as hell, IMO.
yeah, the old aikido guy was top tier for real. he should have never had retsu lose a leg. i think it was unnecessary, and so was homeboy exploding his arm, but at least exploding arm man was the least important of all the fighters. retsu still had potential to be rewritten later coming back as a monster. now he has no potential against any of the top fighters, unless they give him a cybernetic leg,and i wouldnt doubt that in the baki world.
retsu and jack had so much potential, and ended up just getting wasted, and treated badly in the end. its fucking bullshit. especially considering like how everyone else said, baki cares, but his original goal is still just to be stronger the yujiro, not anyone else. he might have gotten distracted on the way, but its an easy write to have other past strong people get stronger, but now, theyre missing limbs or eyes, or just not gonna be baki or yujiro level anymore.
^When was anyone ever on Yuujirou’s level though? Unchained Oliva is the only one who’s ever been said to be even near Yuujirou in strength, Kaku Kaioh was giving him a good run until Yuujirou used his game genie code, but that’s about it.

where is jack? hes like the only character to have his teeth replaced like 4 times, and now he also needs a skin graft. i think itagaki might find a way to take jack to the next level, and in the future before baki vs yujiro, have jack sqaure off with yujiro again at full strength plus devils back. he might be too broken tiers if he gets devil back though. dude is massive and strong as fuck already.
^Itagaki’s never gonna let anyone other than Baki be on even terms with Yuujirou, the other characters get completely shitted on(Jack vs Pickle 1 would’ve been prime time for the ogre back to manifest, but noo)
