You got to use a 2 combo system for driving through corners, hand brake + brake, negative (or positive) steer your whip and drift baby drift… the ferrari has awesome control, theres always one in the gated community right next to the bowling alley, near your homeboy’s pad. Classic control is the easiest for me.
I’m a little bored with it now, but I’m about 3/4th of the way thru a 2nd playthru since Thursday…so I guess it makes sense I ease up.
And driving is fine.
co sign this man not only cause he is right but he is from tennessee…
on the second play thru… shyt seems so easy now. i just wanna see the reaction an outcomes now…like roman constantly gettin his ass beat an cussin me out cause i havent come to help yet… LMFAO:rofl:
im on the same boat man, I got the fucked up ending so I’m replayin it again. I’m up to faustin mission 2 within like 2 hours.
gonna take it slow this time since i already got the liberty city minute achievement
make friends witch everyone so i can call up their assists on the tougher missions. and date all the bitches at the same time
anybody else have Roman punch you in the face to get out of the car after you take him out?
raises hand That was probably the most impressive thing I noticed about GTA within the first hour of playing. Because i distinctly remember when we got back the passenger side door was sandwiched from another car and couldn’t possibly be opened. Being GTA, I was expecting him to get out in a glitchy buggy way, but no, he clocks me right in the face and goes out on my side. I’m like wtf.
If you had 360, then you wouldnt be bored.
But forreal, Brandon I think we are the ONLY people of our “group” playing this. How they can still play nothing but Tekken DR for hours upon hours is well beyond me…I stopped caring about that shit a minute ago, you’ve noticed I stopped Lili, and mainly use Mokujin. I dont even think their PS3’s have even ever had a DISC in them. Oh well, thats them.
Back on-topic.
Last mission I’ve done is like Manny and shit. Been playing hella online, shit, did ONE free mode from 2-8 AM last night. I cant seem to do but a few missions before online beckons.
If any of you on 360 want to get fucked up hit me up. I MAY pick the shit up on PS3 if they ever fix the online, and people actually have mics, and thres actually people playing.
My favorite cars; SuperGT and Sultan RS.
shiiiieeet, Think I’mma play now.
Little Jacob punches me after going out. Maybe he’s been a victim of brorape or something and the weed is making him paranoid.
It’s only happened twice though. Each time he hops in the drivers seat like he’s going to steal the car and then gets out of the car.
Weird glitch.
What don’t you like about GTA4
My thread was closed because it was a duplicate thread about GTA4. So I am posting my topic in here so that I can hear more players opinions of the game. For those of you that reply to this post, could you please post the title as the topic of your post so I’ll know who is reading this directly?
I’m hoping that this wont get viewed as a duplicate thread by the mods because I don’t want what I want to talk about to get lost in all the “hype” that’s in the other thread. Now, I like the game don’t get me wrong, I just think it could have been a lot better. I’d like to hear everyone elses opinion on what could have made this game better. Try to stay clear of unrealistic suggestions since that’s just stupid.
Now for things that I don’t particularly like about this game.
Taxi Cabs: Now, the first time I experienced this feature in a game was in True Crimes Streets Of New York. In that particular game, the landscape was extremly huge and driving was a bitch. So I used it often as well as the subway. While this is a fast way to travel, it takes away from a lot of gameplay hours that could be racked up by travelling a alone. Not to say this is a really bad thing. But I should have been limited to being used through Roman only. Say like 3-4 times in a ingame 24hour period. I’m sure this stims back to the sailing in windwaker where people would get bored of travelling. But now a days, most games are made where traveling is taken out of the system. Take Xenosaga for instance. I personally like traveling in games, it adds to the exploration and all that good stuff.
No fixed wing aircraft: This was one of my favorite things to travel in in GTA:SA. Go to the airport, grab a leer jet or prop driven aircraft. Fly to your destination (or just fly for the enjoyment of it) and sky dive letting you plane crash to the ground. I really wish they had kept that end. But since Liberty city is smaller, I guess they didn’t need it.
Hand to hand combat: Ok, Niko was in the military. I’d like to assume that he was in some special forces type shit. But how come he doesn’t have any special hand to hand skills? You could learn them in True Crimes. Now even though it would be unrealistic for everyone to know martial arts in the game, it would have spiced things up, on top of that. There would have been room to expand the the fighting system which though evloved from previous GTA games, seems uninspired.
Dating/chilling with friends: While this is a true aspect of life, it was done poorly in this game. You have to hangout with your friends/dates to at least a percentage of %60 to get special perks. I wouldn’t have minded it if you actually did something, but these meetings can be done in 5 min or less and the perks aren’t all that great. Get a cab, go meet friend/girl, go to location let them eat or whatever, get a cab and take them home. The minigames are boring as hell. On tope of that, you don’t even have to do them. You can let the game start, cancel, take their asses home and they are still happy. In GTA:SA, there was a potential to fuck these things up. I like the DDR style dancing games dammit.
Shooting: Ok, auto aim is a gift and a curse. You don’t miss, you lock on wrong targets and even dead bodies sometimes and it can get you killed. Taking cover can also get you killed if your getting attacked by a guy behind you and you can’t target him because of the way taking cover works. You have to hit R2 so you can come from behind cover thus risking taking shots from the other guys.
Lies about the AI: It was said that they’d be smarter. Now while I knew that was a load of shit. What about the promises that it would interact with you? I’m not saying I want to talk to every NPC under the sun. But when I blow my horn, they should get the fuck out of the way weather they be walking or driving. The police still don’t target anyone that fucks with you like they should. It only happens sometimes. I could be getting the shit beat out of me for bumping into someone and they just watch. Even worse, I could be getting shot at while unarmed. If you even target someone, the police are on your ass. I’ve pushed people down, pointed my guns at people that were armed and nothing happend.
Robbing stores: I can’t remeber if this was in San Andreas, but it was in vice city and I loved it, why was it removed. It’s a lot better than any of the minigames they have now.
RPG element gone: I liked getting experience for driving, shooting and other various things that were in San Andreas. Why was this removed? You could actually see improvent in your character.
Having partners: In GTA:SA, you could get people to go with you on missions. Now you have to get that perk though a friendship goal with Dwayne. I like it better when you could just ask someone to join up. Hell, if you put in a cheat code, you could get any average joe to go with you. You could grab yourself a hobo, old lady and a pharmacist who were oddly enough strapped. They need to bring that back.
Aside from the story and graphics, I don’t see any vast improvements over the past GTA games. Speaking of graphics, that’s iffy to since I’m sure you’ve all notice how they can degrade over time during different changes in the area. Sometimes I get this effect where it looks like there is pepper all over the screen or some shit.
I think Saints Row 2 is going to eat this game alive. The only thing that keeps it from surpasing GTA is because GTA came first. So it’s kind of hard to come up with new ideas for a game of this style. All I got to say is, stripping shit for sequels is bullshit. They need to keep adding, not take away. I mean really, what the hell were they thinking in R&D for this game. I honestly believe that the name sold this game. While it’s going to be a great game for newcomers, I was a little dissapointed. I will be selling it back since it still holds some value even though I’m an avid fan of the series.

^ no one is going to read all that. But just like I said in the last thread, you were just expecting more sandbox goodies and the developers were concentrating more on having everything in the single player makes since. (where it was the reverse in SA).
If Rockstar was smart they will spit out multiple DLC’s for this game.
edit: and the only thing thats going to make saints row 2 entertaining is the level of ignorance that it guarantees.
as i was about to post i see omni’s wall of text and said to myself, “im not readn all that shit”
so Chanler your right. :looney:
I finally got dwaynes “like” up so now i can call these wankstas to help out.
Anyway,
omni’s thread and opinion are both on point though, IMO.
dunno if everyone is just buying into the hype or maybe i just expected more or what but something is missing from this game.
maybe its just me and the fact that i keep comparing it to san andreas in the back of my mind…but this game is kinda boring and i haven’t been hooked yet. the stations are repetitive, there is a serious lack of npc’s in the game (especially considering the location), i still don’t like the fighting system (driving system is ok though), etc. etc.
know what… i acutally agree except wit the cab… the cab i actually love. but the others… yeah especially that lock on feature… now i just go rambo on everyone…
but overall its an advancement an Rockstar adjust to what we cry/complain/enjoy anyway…
an yes… i wish i could fly that damn 747 at the airport like in SA… i was a pro at dat shyt…i landed on my street (yes my street) in SA… yeah i miss dat definitely…
i havent gotten bored yet… but i am comparin SA to this though just like you… especially them radio stations… i still say
SA radio>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>gta iv radio…
only the tv an that talk radio show keeps me entertained while driven…
It’s cool, I kind of figured not to many people would. But if you just read the first two sentences of each point, you’ll get the gist of my pain.
I haven’t even really noticed what was going on on the radio. I need to just sit back and listen like I did for all the other games. There is some pretty intersting stuff on the TV to. I want to see that military/alien cartoon all the way though. I only watched bits and pieces of it. But yeah, I liked all the extra activites they had in SA, especially the triathalon where you have to beat the cock.
I’m guessing they figured multiplayer would be the saving grace of this game. While I do like it, it’s nothing ground breaking. I need to play some of the other games. I’ve only done deathmatch. It’s pretty much like someone said earlier. With the multiplayer being put in, they didn’t focus on the sandbox for singleplayer at all. Maybe if they would have added co-op, I’d have been happier.

does it matter whether or not i let these random fuckers live or not? like i let the nigga that vlad wanted to me to ice in the beginnning live and then i let dwayne’s bitch live…does it really matter though, if not i’mma just start icing all these niggas.
no homo?
I spent like 30 minutes watching TV…the Las Venturas tournament of poker shit was fucking funny.
Man this game is sooo boring to me now. I’m about halfway done and when I’m done it looks like it’ll be traded in for MGS4.
I only just got the game last Thursday. This is my first GTA game, and so far I’m liking it. I’m only like 11% done so far.
I haven’t played GTAIV yet, and haven’t read many reviews on the game although I’ve played every version of PS2 GTA. After reading Omni’s posts plus several others in this and the thread that was locked regarding the things they didn’t like I have to say it did bring the level of hype I had for this game down a little bit.
I loved the RPG elements from San Andreas. While I already knew you couldn’t alter Nico’s bodysize due to the physics engine I thought leveling up your driving/shooting skills would make a return. Also disappointed that you can’t recruit homies anymore for driveby’s, no more break-ins, (guessing gang wars are out too) and not as improved AI as expected. And what’s this about GTA4 radio < SA radio?
Oh well, I’ll still play the game. They have GTA4: Tokyo/London/Paris/Hong Kong or whatever sequel to put those features back in.
