I have, you can only import up to 50 cars and they only work in Arcade Mode, which also means that your credits and licences don’t get transferred. That’s fine for me, as I enjoy playing the game but some people might have a problem with it.
My only gripe with the game is I can’t have cockpit view with ALL cars and that it’s low rez in some places where I think it shouldn’t be (some car models, lighting/weather effects, etc.) I realize a lot of work was put into this but for the time they’ve had and as so much of it feels tight and polished, it just ends up seeming like they could have worked on it a bit more. Not by any means a dealbreaker, I still love this game but I do hope this gets addressed in updates/free DLC.
In case this matters for anyone, the Japanese version is fully bilingual, so it will have full English voice, menus, text if your PS3 system language is set to English.
have you guys played forza? i have, playabilety isnt anywhere near gt 4 in terms of handling. im sure gt5 is even better. i knew ign where fagz, but giving forza over a 9 and gt5 an 8.5 is just retarded.
Played all 3 Forzas. When it comes to FM3, it’s got a way better car list, track list, DLC, car customization… and not much else. FM2 was better online and more fun to play, IMO, but there was a lot of stuff cut from the first game, which I didn’t play much of.
Not to say GT5 doesn’t have its flaws, but I’d rather play that over Forza 3.
Hate the NASCAR challenges. The skillset and reflexes required are rather different from what normal circuit driving seems to require and the cars just don’t seem to help (curse you Bill France Sr. and your damn “stock car” rules). I’d rather redrive the Nordschleife than do NASCAR.
That said, I’ve gotten greater respect for NASCAR drivers now.

GT5 has 200 cars that look better than most of Forza’s, but it also has 800 cars that look like complete shit, and are models from PS2/PS1 versions, but made shinier. Cars still sound like vacuum cleaners.
Bought it on day one, and haven’t played it since. It’s for sale on my local craigslist, and I’ll extend the offer here $50 shipped, only played once.
now i know your talking bs, forza plays like ass on a pad, gt4 plays better than all forzas combined on pad. im guessing gt5 plays at least as good as gt4 with a pad. also none of what you said matters if you look at the most important aspect of a racer, gameplay (controlls). gt is still miles ahead of fms. the same way scud racer and daytona usa 2 are still galaxies and universes ahead of any arcade racer after it (wtf is a nfs or pgr?, fuck al that bs). fucking sega, im still waiting on scud and daytona motherfuckers. dont they want money?
GT plays like ass on pad. Especially because it’s the PS3’s pad, who’s “triggers” were added as an afterthought in the first place, and analog sticks have less resistance than a stock Sanwa JLF.
Got the special edition box thing the mourning it dropped. I like it, though loading times can suck. I like the 370Z & can’t wait to test drive one in the near future.

I’m rather withholding buying the game ATM, since I expect a GotY edition to be released that feature extra DLC or some such.
