Translate this shit, NAO
Good news, Gouken kept all his changes, bad news, he didn’t get any more. There is one extra line in the changes list and from what someone else said, it says that he gets 75% damage and 66% stun in W mode from Denjin.
As if I needed one more reason to avoid Ultra Combo Double
Apparently Gouken backthrow window was normalized.
meaning 3fr start up? that line isnt very specific unfortunately…
for the first time i read increased forward range of extatsu? really? great but unexpected… but i take it…
oh damn, denjin stun only at 66%? damn i had hopes in ultra double…
- Back throw can now be properly teched (apparently there was some situation where it couldn’t?)
This is great, it means people have less time to react to back throw… if I’m interpreting the change correctly
@risemix I’m not sure if it is good or not. It means one tech time, for both our throws.
Confused about the throw window… I know it was difficult to tech online but always thought it was just from people teching too fast… man I must have gotten away with so many of these. I know whenever I fight another Gouken I do have to alter the tech throw window slightly to cover forward and back throw.
No. Currently, Gouken’s throws have different tech timings. His forward throw is the same as most of the cast, but his back throw is a little slower and must be teched some frames later (I think it’s 10, someone feel free to chime in).
At high levels of play it’s irrelevant tbh because you can double tap the tech and get it no matter what throw gouken decides to do. IMO this is an all around buff.
ugh…
srk says this instead:
Back Throw untechable timing period now techable
Fuck
I think if you are trying to tech a normal throw, you should be able to tech it (as you would a normal throw). If you find that people are teching your back throw all the time, just counter hit them instead.
I KNOW I’ve teched Gouken the entire match b/c the player never fished for counter hits and he **STILL **threw me, it’s not a special command throw…
Even though it should have been (looking at Makoto, Fei, Yun, and Yang with the side eye).
This is stupid IMO. It’s not our fault that we can trick the other opponent in thech timing(ie. Using certain attacks)
I think that’s fine, but I wish the back throw start-up was also “normalized” because Gouken is the only character who’s prone to getting crouch-teched to knockdown after simultaneously resetting with the opponent and instinctively going for the “universal best option” which is back to block plus throw. This works for the entire cast but Gouken is the odd one out and unfairly gets crouch-teched to knockdown instead.
Am I the only one annoyed at the amount of attention Oni got in comparison to Gouken. I think Gouken’s change list is half the size of Oni’s at best.
If you watch closely, he had “Buffs” on moves that gouken is way bethere (sweep) the hado doesn’t botter me because if we get a buff, it might end up in an infinite corner, ultra buff it would be welcome, especially ultra 1 hitbox, and Kongo is the only one that disappointed me…
Some changes are fine, some changes were much needed, some changes are meh, idk why are they happening and there are still more changes that I/we would like to see. Not that anything major will happen at this point, though.
So was the lk buff really a worthless buff? Is it really just going to be made worthless thanks to c. lk?
Why must Capcom be so frustrating when it comes to Gouken.
Wow I never even thought of that disadvantage, and it happens to me quite a lot now that I think about it.
That creates unfair stressful situations where lets say Sakura makes you perpetually guess poke combo or grab even if guess right you cant do anything. I’m fan of SNK and yes they did make some cheap characters but everybody could fight no matter the size.
Pretty much Gouken has not changed nobody is saying he is weak that is too broad a term. He embarrassingly unfinished as a character.
