I still don’t understand why it’s okay for so many characters to be so damn safe against anyone without a shoto reversal or a 3 frame jab. And to put safe armor breaking moves in the game is nearly game breaking. Every move that is currently safe needs to be re-evaluated for the reward they offer if they hit. If they lead to a knockdown or big damage they need to become less safe in exchange. Fuck this game. Fuck this soul sucking, time stealing obsession over a broken game that hates my character.

Ryu does cr. lk… Gouken does Tatsu! Tatsu whiffs and Gouken flies away and gets maxed punished on the way down even though attacker was a attacking Gouken and should have been scooped up in the first place.

If you’re going to time and time again miss the fucking Tatsu up close against Ryu’s cr. LK, you gotta take a look at the man in the mirror and inquire into why he tries the same shit over and over again, when he knows it won’t hit the cr. LK, and it will only grant a full scale punish instead.

lol boys, I’m just kidding around on the internet. I just try to put some humor behind it, but in my previous post here, the underlying reason for my “rash approach” was that Gouken’s Tatsu has always been like that since vanilla - it’s time to either accept the character and consider his other tools to win, or move on. Although, it is around those times for another cool update, so maybe I didn’t quite realize that - but I’m still just saying, don’t let the freaking Tatsu burn you! Learn to use it! When you complain about it missing Ryu’s cr. LK, I find it unreasonable, after close to five years!!! That’s why I came off a little impolite…
Also - you have to use Gouken’s weakness to his advantage. Everybody thinks you won’t Kongo, and everybody thinks Gouken is easy up-close, and BEFORE THAT, everybody just chills and waits for a way in through Gouken’s fireballs. You have a lot of odds against you, and when you top it off with the fucking EX TATSU ON WAKE-UP and ignore the risk of a MAX PUNISH - GUARANTEED, then you’re not playing your cards right.
