I’m glad they didn’t make them shitty though. They needed to be toned down a bit but I was worried they’d go overboard. They’ll both still be a challenge to beat

My guess: Those “nerfed versions” were the original versions of Yun and Yang, but that trolling Ono forced devs to buff them on purpose.

On hit its still +1 and it places geif in your face where he is the most dangerous. plus 1-13 frames invincible

Man what can you do against a Sakura who spams whirlwind kick xx c.lp, whirlwind xx st. cl. lk, EX whirlwind? I beat him in the first round and in the second and third rounds, he just spams the fuck out of that combo. I couldn’t do anything but block and get counter hit! It’s so frustrating :confused:

Also get that “Unfair” attitude out of your head. The game has no idea about fairness or unfairness. Everything has a counter.

Anyways. Lets go over the way frames work. (warning, essay about shit incoming)
For a TL:DR check the bottom (it’ll be bolded)

A frame is 1/60th of a second. Frames are the unit of time for games. Every attack leaves the opponent in block stun if blocked (unable to do anything while in this) for a certain amount of frames or hit stun if hit (same deal but hit). Moves also have a recovery for when their finished. An example of this is Sakura’s crouching medium kick. It recovers in 13 frames. However the block stun on this move is 10 frames. Now we need to learn a new term : Frame advantage. Frame advantage is the difference between recovery of the move and the block stun or hit stun.

The recovery of Sakura’s crouching medium kick is 13, and the block stun is 10. That means that Sakura’s crouching medium kick has a frame advantage of -3 on block. This means that the opponent is out of block stun 3 frames before the Sakura is done recovering from her crouch mk. A move that starts up in 2 frames would punish Sakura if done as soon as they are out of block stun.

Moves also have frame advantage on hit. An example is Sakura’s standing jab. It is +7 on hit. This means that Sakura can link more attacks that start up in 6 or less frames as a combo. Example : st. LP, c.Mk. Crouch medium kick starts up in 5 frames so it is a 2 frame link. (7-2 = 5).

Anyways now lets take a look at your problem. You are saying that Sakura is cancelling into her LK Hurricane Kick and if you press a button after you block it you get counter hit. Lets look at the frame data.

Sakuras LK Hurricane Kick = Frame Advantage on hit : +4
Frame advantage on block : 0

If Sakura does a LK hurricane kick and you block it, you both recover at the exact same time. At this point its whoever has a faster attack first.

Sakura’s stand LP = 3 Frames of startup (before the move comes out)
Goukens Stand LP = 4 Frames of startup

Sakura’s crouch LP = 3 Frames of startup
Goukens stand LP = 4 Frames of startup

See what im getting at? You are getting counter hit because Sakura’s attacks are faster than yours and you both are attacking at the exact same time after the LK hurricane kick. The options you have to beat this are…
A) Countering
B)Focus attacking
C) Doing something with invincibility
D) Throw (if in range)

Stop jumping so damn much. That sakura was terrible at AA’ing. To practice this try staying on the ground across whole matches without jumping once.
Try keeping sakura out. Your fireball game is a lot better than hers.
Anti airing is something you need to practice.

I’m quite pissed off, I’ve fallen from 3300PP down to 1900,
I seem to be losing to every tom, dick and harry recently…

Pretty bummed right now, everything just feels like it’s just a gamble.
I’ve had a string of Vipers, Guys, Guiles, Balrogs, Chun li’s, Yun’s, Yangs, Fei’s, Cody’s…
And it just feels like they’re just so much better at everything: Like people who can just spam light punch or kick when they hit you they get a full combo!

I mean Fei and** Yun**, you literally can’t even do a lp.Palm without being punished!
Chun-li: you pretty much can’t demon-flip her ever cause of that airborne grab, you can’t palm her cause it’s as unsafe as walking your dogs through a minefield.
You can’t go through her fireballs with it cause they dont go fast enough you’d either get hit at the end or she’ll recover.
If you knock her down, it’s bloody hard to keep it going cause any jump in results in an Ex Spiining Bird, and if you try to bait it; she pushes you away and recovers so fast it can’t be punished.
Her normals are WAAAYYY better than yours, so all you can do is fireball…
Which she’ll absorb once in a while, and before you know it, you’ve given her her Ultra I.
When she gets her Ultra I, you can’t even do fireballs cause she travels across the screen in, like, 1 bloody frame!

I really want to try a Fightstick, i mess up 20% of my AA Ex Tatsu’s on jump reaction, and I’m thinking the stick will improve my Speed
of performing tatsu’s, parries…
And my game over all.

PS: out of rant, Did you know you can lp.parry Chun-li’s Hazanshu and of course her Sweep. (her usual mix up game.)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ STICK IS THE WAY TO GO…

all that strength and dexterity you have from the elbow down can be best put to work on a stick. On a pad , the speed of your thumb and crispness of the thumbstick come into question after hours of playing, and with that you start losing time on setups etc.

Channel your energy properly with a Joystick and continue onward warrior!!!
