To practice this technique, I’d suggest practicing the first inputs of (lp+hk)~mp before moving on to the last part of the input. Watch the input display, you should see
lp+mp+hk
lp+hk
Once you get that down, integrate the b or f + lk+fp. The mp has to be pressed immediatly after the lp+hk.
ok a month or two ago i saw this video that was pretty cool i saw abel zangief and akuma idk who else absorb a hit with the focus attack and do the ulra w/o letting the attack go does anyone know what this is or seen this video
I don’t think it was a Focus Attack. What you probably saw was the video demonstrating the armor glitch, where a character does an EX move with armor properties and cancel into ultra upon absorbing a hit during the first few frames of the move.

To my knowledge Akuma does not have an armored EX move. Back on topic please.

I was hoping someone like Ed Ma would attempt it. The sad facts are that many Akuma players are too dependent on their EX moves and the super demon doesn’t do nearly enough damage.
i do it on occasion, but i do not have a capture card. when the opponent has low life and i’m going in for the kill, this is one of the tricks i bust out. i only use 2 input styles for RDs: this, and the c.mk one for jump-ins.
ok i got it down but my demon down but its not getting the kara property i dont understand y do those inputs really have 2 come out
so much easier, use index on lp, ring on hk, then switch to thumb on lk and middle on hp and follow these steps
lp + hk
lp + hk
b+lk+hp
same result easier inputs.
I’m starting to realize that the Super is actually awesome. It’s really easy to land and there are a bunch of setups for it. If you can land a throw, you can land a Super and it does 3x as much damage as a throw.
I bet JR Rodriguez will start using this in matches first if he hasn’t already, dude loves his super.

The whole point of this demon is for the extended range, if you see the roundhouse’s first kick come out then you’re not doing it correctly (sort of like a kara throw, you don’t see the forward+mk when doing kens). This is why I don’t think the three input style really works here. It should be plinked.
I agree that the Super is a really cool move, and it used to be my fave, but I’m really wishing it did more damage. It’s gradually inching its way out of my game with the more of the benefits and possibilities with his EXs I discover.
Punishing for example. Unless it’s a Super-specific punish, don’t use the Super for 330 damage when you get that amount for free and about 400 with less meter. 2 FADCs beat the hell out of his Super in competitive value IMO.
If it did closer to 400 damage (come on, Zangiefs does 500) I’d advocate it like you. I think it needs that kind of buff to take off with most of his players.
Yeah I only use it as an untechable command throw or if it’s a super-specific punish.
For instance, if I have super and somebody is trying to play the Oki game where they just sit right next to you on wake to either throw you, throw out a low short, or bait DP, I just Super them because there is nothing that can do to avoid it.
