Damn I seem to be the only person whos primary character is May, is she just that hard to play or does no one use her? Thats actually why I started using her is because a person over here mentioned that no one played May around this area and wondered if she was even any good.
may is average, but in the game where everyone has some super strat to own the other guy average just doesn’t cut it
she doesn’t have enough to hang with the rest of the cast
The same thing can be said about the guy in your avy Ky, most people consider him just average as well. Still doesnt mean you cant win with him, its the same with May. Some characters are just considered average because no one really takes the time to learn how to play them.

Of all the good tier discussions I’ve seen, Sol has never been on top… it’s always Eddie, Millia, Faust… then Axl sometimes.
Sol is usually high-mid, and I have to agree, he’s not ridiculously strong, but he is ridiculously easy to learn. He’s got crazy priority, most of his moves can be done twice making easy and reasonably damaging combos, but he’s not on top.
I have to agree with Faust and Eddie, but have never really seen a good Millia or Axl. With Eddie and Faust… man… crazy range, damage (s.S w/ Faust…), and I have never been able to air-block more than half of Eddie’s moves.
Same goes for Johnny. He’s really hard to play well (ie, beyond mist traps)… hes got good “tools”, though, with no run he still has that super effective dp+S for travel (can that be braked?)
Some things are pretty strong, though… ie… if opponent staggered then do HCB,f+HS.
They say the world’s best always turns out being a Johnny… although Umehara’s Sol is ridiculously famous.
All that being said, the game is pretty balanced… even though there are tiers, I think the tiers are WAY closer together then some of Capcoms latest games.
Ky’s no slouch, and he has a lot more range than May. He can mix up better than her from an otg, thanks to an FRC-able Force Edge. Plus, his range and speed give him better control over the ground. His new super, Sacred Edge, gives him more combo options, and is much safe than Ride The Lightning(which is actually better, since it can be done in the air now).
May is essentially May. Her old loop has been nuked, and she’s not much faster than she once was. She has some nice FRC options, but they also put her at risk, as well.
i do agree that ky is better than he was in ggx
but he really needs more damage, that’s the only area he seems really lacking in
He’d be broken if he had massive dust loops like sol…=\ His slash links are strong enough for me. 
but as a ky player, naturally I wouldn’t mind a boost. I heard in #reload his airdust is bigger and faster. That’ll be cool.
I am new to GGXX and testaments my game, but I seen a good may user, and she never STAYS IN ONE DAMN PLACE. Drives me completely nuts. Its ok I’ll keep laying mines. Anyway, I am yet to see any good eddie, anyone got movies?

I think Slayer should be number 4 because easy ass infinty combo 2 his combo does like 50% damge.
I know I heard some one saying Axel is top tier.

I forgot Zappa is top also because that shadow dog has a unblockable move and if you get them in the corrner there dead.

i’ve read all 5 pages and i think Jam is totally underrated by shoryuken.com … i know i’m not japanese and played the game for 6 monthes but i have been playing her … after 1 charge for the dragon edge , u can simply fuck enemy up with a simple c.HS into dragon edge into dp.k , into dragon edge again … that 3 hit kick combo in air is very solid damage … she is hella fast and her dive kick could be used as a great crossover after boosting over the enemy … and she can parry for god sakes 
… parry into super just like p-groove … or parry into the kick set up … she is underrated
I’m with assault. Jam kicks! She’s so far my absolute favorite character in the game. I played all the others without even looking at the moves in the book or anything and she just came naturally to me. That’s how I pick my characters usually. And she’s just hella fun and can be totally dangerous in the right hands.

i kow he has great lockdowns and he owns may (not that that’s saying much) but he’s my favorite character and i hear the least about him interms of tier, people just say seconds tier and leave it at that.
