In a nutshell, there are two games being played: Axl’s and Slayer’s. You’re going to win if you play cautiously and zone correctly against Slayer since his biggest weakness is getting in on characters, but if you let him get in and let him play his game, your options are really, really limited defensively. Counters are far too risky, your uppercut blows balls, and your normals are too slow to CH him out of any pressure he may pull on you. Defensively, your best/least risky option is to let him pressure you, block as best you can, and then superjump + FD away when you see a hole you can escape from.
As Axl, there isn’t an easy “win” card against Slayer. You just need to know what beats what at what distances and under what circumstances.
I actually asked a similar question on Dust Loop, but Ill ask here since there seems to be a pretty involved discussion.
Is Slash generally considered more balanced than AC now? Something was mentioned earlier by Orka I believe about the gaps between tiers being smaller in Slash as opposed to Accent Core. ny elaboration on that would be appreciated.
Most, if not all, 6p’s have upper body invincibility. As of right now I can’t think of an exception but there very well could be one.
All 6k’s are definitely not throw invincible. Order-Sol and Baiken both have that off the top of my head, Jams 6hs has it, ABA’s uppercut in moroho has it. That’s all I can think of since I just woke up, but hopefully that answers your question well enough.
To choose Black characters you go to EX colors (switch color types at character select by pressing taunt) and hit … well shit it use to be start, but since there is no start color pick I’m not sure. Gold is Dust though.
To choose EX characters I believe you have to press start in this version once you unlock them, and then you can choose EX along with other modes as well (GG, GGX, slash etc). I haven’t dealt with Gold/Black/EX stuff since slash, so sorry if I got the info wrong.
the reason dizzy’s 6p gets beaten out a lot is because it’s slow and the hitbox isn’t very big, on top of not having above-knee invincibility. also, you need to take note that the hitbox is located lower compared to most other 6p in the game.
also, don’t use her 6p as anti-air. that’s what 2s is for.
ok guys i started reading up on Ky on the first page and his VT/LJ loops and seriously i cant get them consistantly at all. Are u supposed to FRC the LJ all the time cuz i done it with out it a couple times its just starting to irritate me. And what are Ky’s guard strings with his new 6HS?
I don’t think I can play this game. Looking at it from the bottom up, I have more insight than the average novice. And it’ll take a ton more commitment than I’m ready for to reach a level I’ll be happy with, which makes me sad because I can see how fun high-level gear is.
