FRCs have been around since XX
umm frcs always been in ggxx
*Stares at Tigerboi’s av for a long time…
Uhh… Learn how to do his basic combos off of any hit. Random basic combos listed below: (damn I can’t concentrate…)
-
Wild Throw, 2H, j.S, dj.S-H, S Volcanic Viper + follow up Kick.
-
2K-2H, Grand Viper (mash to get Clean Hit at the end), j.S, dj.S-H, S Volcanic Viper
-
Sidewinder Loop. Against average weight characters (let’s say, Sol, for example):
Wild Throw, j.S, Sidewinder (Clean Hit), land, 2H, j.S, Sidewinder (Clean Hit), land, j.S, Sidewinder (Clean Hit), land, Bandit Revolver
That’s just an example of his Sidewinder Loop. I had a post somewhere buried in the other AC thread explaining how it works and stuff, so lemme go find it.
Or you can also wait for Spirit Juice to finish up his Beginner’s Guide for Sol…
*Goes back to staring at Tigerboi’s av…
Edit: C&P’ed post below.
- Depending on which character you’re doing the combo on, you can do multiple Sidewinders on them (hence, Sidewinder Loops), which is basically Sol’s big source of damage now. For example, against Ky, you could do:
Command Grab, j.S xx Sidewinder, land, 2H, j.S xx Sidewinder, land, j.S xx Sidewinder, land, *
- At this point, you can end it with either a Bandit Revolver (236K) for wake-up purposes, or go for a j.S, dj.S-D, S Volcanic Viper for more damage.
There are many other setups which don’t involve the Command Grab, like 2K-2H xx Grand Viper (mash to get full hits plus clean hit at the end), landing a random FRC Gunflame (jump straight into Sidewinder Loop), landing an ad.S-D, land, Fafnir string, or if you have the Tension, connecting a string into 2D xx Bandit Revolver (RC the first hit of the Bandit Revolver), Sidewinder.

Yes, that’s the “Clean Hit” effect of the Sidewinder, which means a higher untechable time for the opponent, which means you get to extend your combos, hence the Sidewinder Loop. All the Sidewinders done in the Sidewinder Loop are Clean Hits in order for the Loop to work. If you want to get it reliably, you pretty much have to make sure that when you do the Sidewinder, you’re hitting a specific “sweet spot” on the opponent’s hitbox (ideally, you’re up close to the opponent and the Sidewinder hits the “center” of the opponent’s body). Each character has different “sweet spots”, so you’re gonna have to experiment a lot.

Use it A LOT. Unlike in Slash, Sol’s Sidewinder in AC actually HURTS (the Clean Hit version, mind you), so yeah.

Personally, on midscreen combos I’d stick to Bandit Revolver than Bandit Bringer, but that’s just me. On Bandit Bringer in the corner, you can probably do 2S-2H, regular B&B. But if you have the meter, you could do dumb shit like:
In corner, [FRC Gunflame, Bandit Bringer] x4, 2S-2H, regular B&B
Hope some of it helps even though I’m not a Sol player…
Shows how much I know about GG! I’m trying to learn.
Think it would be too much to list basic pros/cons of each character next to their name on the first page? Might help newcomers narrow down their character choices.
ha…then the IGN review made a mistake
They prolly got it confused with Force Breaks.
Im a lil late to the party here since it took me a few days to find a damn copy
You would think among 4 EBS, 3 walmarts, a Toys R US there would be more copies…oh well :roll:
right now my only real question I want to know is, is the jpn/import save US compatible?
I’d hate to redo everything
I just read the review and they specifically said “Force Breaks.” They weren’t wrong, IIRC.
Saves are incompatible between regions, sorry.
I’m mexican…does that make a difference? :lol: but ok for those who told me about the vids thanks!
the tier thread on dustloop has them but SOMEONE wont update that first post either
ah doh! ah well time to restart some AC loving:sweat:
Thanks for the quick update
ky stuff is on the first pot
So this is the corner throw combo I’ve been using with Testament. I’ve been told this is universal and does okay damage for the low amount of effort…
Throw -> 5K -> 5S(jc) -> 9K -> 9S -> 9HS -> 214P.
I’ve tried it our on half the cast, so damage has varied, but I’ve been able to pull it off on everyone so far, so I assume that this is a truly universal combo. Confirm?
Also, I’ve been alternating between:
6P/2K -> 5S -> 5S(f) -> 2D -> 214P
6P/2K -> 5S -> 5S(f) -> 5HS -> 214P
It does about the same damage (sometimes 1-2 points difference), but 2D hits low, as 5HS does not… but if it combos from the beginning, does it really matter? And if they block, can’t I just cancel 5HS into HS EXE Beast? It’s easier to do the non-2D combo, but if the 2D combo > the 5HS combo, then I’ll stop… Someone more experienced want to help?
Well if it’s any thing like #Reload, the 2D will make female characters be launched higher by grave digger (or whatever the new 214p is called) and thus make it easier to do the loop? Perhaps. I don’t know anything about his new loop really except seeing it in videos. Like 6k into 214p seemed to be a common thing to see after throws. shrug
Ahh… I never thought about 2D -> Badlands launching higher than 5HS -> Badlands. Interesting point. If that’s the case, then I’ll stop using 5HS -> Badlands. It was just easier for me to do (physically), but if 2D -> Badlands gives me more of an advantage/opportunity to rape, then I’ll rape.
And yeah, I know that mid-screen throw combo: Throw -> 6K -> Badlands. I can’t quite loop it yet, but I’m still just working on connecting Throw -> 6K. It seems like I need to do 6K late as fuck, then the 6K -> Badlands is easy as pie. Sometimes I throw, then miss 6K completely. That sucks hard.
when doing the badlands loop, you have to do tk badlands
