GGXX:Accent Core Thread! [AMERICAN PS2 RELEASE, GO GO GO!]

Just me or does Johnny have the shortest throw range. You have to a pixel away, it makes it easy to be out-grabbed by just about anyone so I’m forced to rely on his 6P.

Johnny actually has average throw range(45). Chipp has the shortest (36).

How are you setting up your throws?

I can tell you now that Chipp has a longer throw range than Johnny. I just went all night with my brother who was easily picking me off. Before I could even get within 6P range he already had me. The only way I could get past it was to come in from above with j.K>PP6P>j.K>j.S>j.D>Ensenga

Don’t believe me then see for yourself.

I didn’t see (or couldn’t find) this being mentioned in the first post, I think it’ll help lots of people.

Frame data. :karate:

I have seen for myself, for the past 6 years. It is a fact that Chipp has less throw range then Johnny. If you are getting thrown all over the place by Chipp, it’s not because Chipp has more throw range then Johnny.

Throws in this game are instant. When you attack, your attacks extend your hitbox forward and it’s possible to tag these extended hitboxs with a throw, before the attack strikes.

If you want to avoid being throw, with Johnny, you gotta space them out. Failing that, you jump, backdash, OD, or counter-throw with your superior throw range; to escape the throw attempt. After all that, your last hope is a throw-break.

chipp has a shorter throw range but hes got a faster walk speed, run speed and more moves with frame advantage that leave him close, also he actually has a run and not a dash. so while his throw range is straight butts, hes better at actually getting off a throw.

I wish he still said “FIND ME!” when he went invisible. =(

He does in one voice set.

Thanks to all who responded, and koogy for the inspirational (cheesy as it sounds) story. Definitely understand the part about the importance of basics as I play a few other fighters as well. A little bit every day goes a long way I guess.

And what’s with Urien players playing Potemkin? I know someone who plays Urien, and his starting character for guilty gear is … Potemkin.

Cause they both have the aegis reflector son!

-SH

that and they both have no shirts and a thong (although potemkisn thong is made of a belt)

it was kind of funny how i played potemkin, picked up urien in 3s and when i go back to gg pot has unblockables :x (well… good ones, he always had unblockables)

i play Urien in 3s and i hate Potemkin =X

Wow.

I hate my friend Zach.

He’s an idiot.

Me = Oryian Blue
Him = Hobbitlo

Oryian Blue: Guilty Gear rocks face.
hobbitlo: meh
Oryian Blue: It’s all I’ve been playing since it came out.
Hobbitlo: never been very impressed with GG
Oryian Blue: How can you not be? They have the best 2-D sprites to date. Most in-depth game mechanics. All the characters are pretty balanced. You never see the same 2-4 characters in a tourney.And the button layout is pretty unique.
hobbitlo: just dont like it
Oryian Blue: i’mma’ make everyone play it when I get back.
Oryian Blue: I don’t care.
hobbitlo: id rather play smash then GG

GTFO!

-SH

Some people just aren’t appealed by GG compared to the other fighting game series out there, and I don’t see much against GG’s case other than he’d rather play Smash, but that’s also a preference thing. I could probably get offended if I was a Smash player, though. XD

:lol: thanks :wgrin::lol:

:rofl: I understand that statemnt w/ smash b/c to be honest I think that smash bros melee is one of the best games/fighting games of all time:woot: and this game series is excellent so far but when you first see it you’ll most likely (like me) be turned off by it b/c it’s just too weird at first like pretty much all the characters (especially when finding out that bridegit (forgive mispelling) is a male character :confused::confused::mad: ) but later when you play it more you realize it’s really unique and a great game with new takes on 2-D fighting which makes it shine :cool:.

Now that the gamestop.com says that Guilty Gear is in NE Ohio, I’m gonna have to go pick it up and put some more money on my Smash preorder.

P.S.: SH- :rofl::shake:

can anyone tell me what is different about bridget from the jap to american release of GG accent core? People say its kinda useless learning her in the jap release but i dont know much about the character but wanna get into her now that the american version is out and thats the one im playing…

In the Jap version Bridget lost his neutral Yo-Yo set, that’s about it though. He lost a glitch he had but that’s a good thing.

To explain to the glitch: If Bridget ever did FB Roger, he would essentially be unhittable.
