5:15 for a funny joke.
funny deejay play @ 5:50 for DeeJay played by gootecks and mike ross

It’s official: Deejay has no chance against Ryu in Super… Especially if all you do is jab jab forward and random slides against people who don’t punish it and if you do EX sobat also against people who don’t know how to punish it. It’s also best if you just do jab jab short fireball because that doesn’t combo.

Me playing AE against a local Honda player; forgive my scrubbiness:

YouTube - MrSNK’s Channel

theres no shame in losing to Mr. SNK his honda is a beast, i struggle with him too. You have to get more comfortable Anti-airing Honda. You have to be careful of the ranges u throw fireballs to make sure you can put him in positions where you can air to air him, and not be afraid to AA him with ur standing normals. Slide AA has to be setup with these 2 things, youre not gonna be able to start the match attempting slides.

these Hondas arent as good as Mr SNK’s but this shows tips on playing the honda match

After being eaten up by Mike Ross a couple times, Deci a few times and by a few randoms on XBL every now and then I’ve learned that the most important thing in the Honda matchup is to jump correctly. The simple patterns that I do vs Honda (throw jab fireballs, wait and see what happens, work on perfect anti air, focus buttslams into EX MGU into EX sobat) work really well as long as you’re selecting the proper anti-air and avoiding unnecessary trades. In order to set up slides, you need to show that you’re willing to anti-air with jump forward RH. This causes him to lay off the delay jump strong and opens up slide into real damage. I consider those trades a necessary evil just to set up what you really want. But if you just want to play cleaner (and you are playing AE) you can lean more heavily on upkicks than jump forward RH or jump forward fierce. The problem comes when Honda puts your back to the corner. That’s where you lose the match.

So generally when Hondas start walking forward to close distance I try to mix in jumpins then push them back with jab jab short xx EX fireballs then throw another fireball immediately after that (which you follow up by slide, then go back to the pattern having gained about 3/4 screen worth of distance between you and the corner). You shouldn’t jump EVERY time they start walking forward, because they technically can s.fierce you out of the air if they do it right when your feet leave the ground, but if you can discourage walking and encourage them to sit on a charge, you pretty much won the match right there because you can just pump fireballs until you get bored or they move forward which opens up more jumps, etc.

I still think Dee Jay has an advantage in this match, but it’s yet another of those matches where you better not get hit first, otherwise you have to actually come to him and then everything falls apart.

After playin some really beastly Hondas I’m saying this is a lot like the Zangief match. We’re at an advantage until he gets close. Since he has good offense and good trades(always in his favor).

It’s not impossible. And if you safe jump headbutt thens it’s really easy, but dealing with hands pressure and ochio… Ouch

I agree with Viscant there, that’s how I play that matchup and as long as you have the life advantage and are forcing Honda to make the moves then you can ride out the win without too much random erratic stuff. If he easily gets you into the corner after 8 seconds of the match then you’re doing something wrong or made a bad decision at the start of the match.

A great little match from Deejay player ‘Unanuko’ vs one of the best cammy’s around, ‘Kiritampopo’.

Also, note the use of U1, I’m glad im not the only one after all

Honestly he’s not that good. He did use one of my setups. mk sobat > lk sobat

U1 use seemed scrubby could have easily done the same thing with U1. Its cool how he got full hits tho.

First Round was played excellently.

Second Round he should have been using that st. mp. to stop those close dive kicks.

Last Round got lucky that ex as > ex sobat worked. that pseudo combo is an online exclusive lol i wonder if the cammy would have used U1 would that setup have worked?

unanuko was trying to use an unblockable setup when he activated u1 actually which is cool, wouldve liked it if the cammy didnt mash so we could see if he timed it right.

unblockables don’t work anymore. they patched that a long time ago.

I don’t know if this was already posted

Didn’t like lamerboi’s dj.
I like josh wong’s but I don’t respect it because he’s not a deejay main. I don’t respect anybody who uses deejay and doesn’t main him . In casuals its cool but I can’t respect it. Its a good cammy counterpick tho. He doesn’t play like any deejay player but he’s a smart player in general so I think you can pick small things up from his game.

I didn’t like Lamerboi’s DeeJay. I just posted it because he can EX MGU, dash U2. I’m guessing that it’s easier and it probaly motivates the people who has been trying for hours and days that still can’t do it. Like me for an example :-p. Josh Wong’s DeeJay will be good once he put’s time in it. He relied heavily on the cr.lp+lk+hp OS and got exposed for using it. But ofcourse he was mashing too early

i agree completely. josh wong is an amazing player. its a shame he doesn’t stick to one character. he seems like an american kindevu in that he just picks the most bs character and sticks with them.

Hey guys,

I haven’t been in the Deejay forums for a while. Nice to see everybody’s still here.

I was trying to get into MVC3 for about a month, and i finally just sat up one day and said, “wait a minute… this game is stupid!”. So i jumped back on SSF4 and immediately felt a wave of satisfaction i hadn’t felt in, well… 1 month.

And now that AE was just confirmed for June, I’m getting back into my strict Deejay training regimens. 13 months of playing with this motherfucker are finally gonna pay off. I’m gonna be poppin’ EX MGU’s into U2 like JCool in Super. Can’t wait.

Anyway, I don’t have any vids. Just wanted to say it’s nice to be back in the game that requires actual use of the brain (unlike MVC3).

That’s a bit baseless don’t you think? MvC3 has its flaws but its mind games are more reactionary then they are the significantly slower paced and well drawn out gimmicks and matchup intricacies of Super. Considering AE is about to see an influx of divekick characters (Bringing the total every closer to a quarter of the cast) I wouldn’t really start pretending that this game isn’t just as easy, nor does it require a mountain of thought.

I was snooping my nose around the Deejay section just to see what was up as well, and I don’t really like to see bashing of Marvel even if its just not as good all things considered.

I know playing Marvel this whole time really beefed up my ability to do one frame links, because I’m already moving like i’m hooked up to pills and pop rocks, but at the same time I go alittle too fast so I still miss shit. Deejay is still not going to see a ton of love because of all that new shit, so at the very least we’ll get a chance to go buck wild with the new Upper Mid, Low-High tier DJ from the comfort of home.

Marvel 3 is ass. I already retired from that game
