Pad players??? O_O lol
Luckily I made that transition during vanilla/early super when I played a rog rufus combo. They helped me get used to the arcade stick. I hope you got a TE because other sticks made me want to keep playing on pad.

You should learn a stick by playing sf2 or snk fighting games (fatal fury, kof etc.). The reason I say this is because the controls on those game are not lenient and noob friendly like sf4. On SF4, you can learn alot of bad habits which will lead you to being more inconsistant with inputs.
I get out the arcade stick for HDR and GGPO games but I like the controller for SFIV. I feel faster and more in control than with stick in that game. Things like short hops with DJ seem much quicker and reliable on pad and even things like dash ultra aren’t a problem for me I’m even starting to make some progress with DJ’s dash ultra. Last night I had some sort of epiphany and for some reason could do dash ultra 2/3 out of 10 when before I’d get it 1 / 100. It’s all to do with the timing of the 3 punches, people. Well at least it was for me.
I watched ur videos and ur doing pretty good. One thing I would say is against Vega’s walldives you can cr. HK out sometimes to throw them off. Then if they catch on just don’t do it and you can upkick them if they try and hit ur slide.

I actually love the slide in the Vega match-up.
Like No_Cigar said if you time it right (as Vega’s rebounding off the wall toward you) it’ll avoid his claw and grab unless he preemptively shortens the arc of the dive in which case you be hit by the claw.
If Vega’s mashing on his back flip during your block-strings you can slide on reaction to catch him in it’s recovery.
And the slide gets low enough to trip up his Cosmic Heel.
uhh thats my deejay playing Alex Valle’s Yang at 39:58 and at like 1 hr, 33 mins and on is against his Guy. Then an interview with me about how I like new AE deejay.

Great DJ namja. Good showcase. Slide looks much safer than before, well at least it looks easier to space since it’s much shorter. I’d like to see some of the new combos DJ can do now. Maybe some sobat FADC combos or some use of the far MK into sobat or slasher.

namja you could have definitely won the runback with valle. you started played different and using sobats and didn’t AA a dive kick on wakeup. if you think its a badly timed safe jump use ex.

Thanks guys. My execution really sucks though. and yeah i keep forgetting i can do far mk into sobat/slash combos so theres no point to do the vortex sometimes, when u can land some good damage and zone with purpose (i.e life lead cuz of that combo u just landed)
also i learned to never use Deejay’s Backdash in pressure situation like that. Because its not Rose or Chun li’s back dash which escapes alot.
Instead, if i want to do that, i should forward dash because his is actually quite fast. However, my friend says to save the meter and just land super. 3rd round. thats like 300-400 dmg too.
