Played Saqs’ Guy the other day which I’m going to upload too.
Alright I got a capture device and I wanna share some of the less shitty games I played recently.

that because iphone sux and is severly over rated. Get a Driod X from verizon asap, when you contracts done.:wgrin:
That bison got wayy too predicable after the 1st game… surprised he’s 16k bp (although I guess many players fall for Bison’s routines… not Hatrify though! :>). Well played!
I was not expecting such reckless use of U2 from a Bison player with 16k. :shake:
Which video are you referring to?
Bison cant really u2 deejay on reaction, so he was trying to read my fireball pattern and i succesfully baited him a few times with jabs. The videos are posted a lil out of order, i got up 2-0 on him and kinda started sleeping on him then he whooped my ass and i had to wake up. The first match was actually the fourth match, the rest are in order.
I’m going to try and post my second batch of DeeJay vids tonight. They are from last night and hopefully show some improvement over my first vids. In the interest of fairness, I’m going to choose matches randomly regardless of whether I won or lost.
BTW, I won a tournament on Saturday with DeeJay, only losing one game, so thanks to everyone that has posted advice here.
Hatrify,
The only part of this i don’t understand is why the use of cr. short after the crossup? Or, more specifically, how does cr. short stuff a DP attempt after they block? And why is it preferred over cr. jab? It starts up 1 frame slower than jab. Is it because it hits low, or the range?
Basically you are plus frames after they block a jump mk. You are more frame advantaged if they block it low on their body. If they block on top of their head youre about +2, if they block it lower youre more like +6. If u press jab or short after they block it on top of their head u can get shoryued because your jabs/shorts take 3-5 frames to start up. If they block it low and you press jab or short they cant reversal/move because theyre stuck in that +6 blockstun so your move will execute before the blockstun is over. the reason why low short is better than jab in this situation is because it hits low, so if theyre trying to buffer a shoryu they have to press forward/downforward to do it, and they can get hit by the low. If you press jab it will always force them to block. Hope that was an understandable explanation
yeah i get it now.
basically, if your block string is tight enough (after a deep-blocked jump mk), their mashed DP can’t squeak out. And if you use cr. short instead of jab, you might hit them if they happen to press forward (stand) while trying to mash DP, even though they’re still stuck in the blockstring with auto-block.
Any comments to my vids from the previous page?
I could really use some feedback.

36:36 -1:00:00ish i put together a nice win streak. almost perfected a hakan. got a dash ultra.
Not bad. the players weren’t great except for the hakan player. I love to vega because of lag and fear of going for things i would go for on the PS3
please critique.

vs. Guy: Guy actually scares me a little bit now. Cause all the scrub Guy players have died off, and the only ones remaining are actually pretty good.
The Guy matchup is really strange to me, and it usually just turns into mayhem. You ever notice that? Deejay vs Guy just gets way more hectic than any of his other matchups. -
vs Chun: did a good job of avoiding her setups while keeping the offense going. At 3:00 i think you could’ve ended it right there cause you had her in the corner (maybe you backed up to bait her U1?).
With Chun I always try to keep an eye on her meter. If you can get her to waste it on EX Kikokens things are much easier once you knock her down. I noticed you safe-jumped her EX SBK correctly 1 time. I usually just go the lazy route and neutral jump on her wakeup. Even if she blocks you still have the advantage. -
vs. Gouken: Once you get Gouken scared of using his parry, the match is pretty much yours. You did a good job of avoiding parries. It’s pretty easy to control space with Gouken. I like to air-to-air fierce all his Demon Flips. And it’s very easy to slide under his lp hadoken (compared to most fireballs), so you can use that to close the distance and keep your charge.
Another little gimmick i like to use early on against Gouken is to lp sobat on his wakeup. They often don’t realize that sobats will armor-break their parries, so they’ll eat it a few times til they catch on. -
vs. Akuma: There are so many Akuma players online nowadays, and so many different playstyles with him, it’s hard to pin down an exact strategy. You just gotta go with the flow. You seemed to handle it fine.
-
vs. Sim: Solid effort. You made the best of your opportunities when you got him in the corner. In the 3rd round you got stuck in that Yoga Inferno trap. The only thing i would suggest in that situation is to maybe attempt an escape with an EX Sobat before he teleports behind you. Be careful though, EX Sobat will only go through Inferno if you time it JUST before it touches you. And if he’s standing in front of it, he could still knock you back into it. It’s not always worth it.
Btw, I think if Deejay didn’t have knee-shot, that match would be 9-1 Sim.
That match against Dnyc3’s Akuma was a great showcase of why the knee shot owns.
Pretty much vandalized all his anti-airs, air to airs, anything in the air.
You should respect Hakan’s U2 a little bit more though.
It’s really ballsy to keep crossing him up when he has it stocked.
lol knee shot destroyed him.
About hakan i wasn’t afraid of the hakan player so i didn’t give a fuck but i understand. he should have won the last match we played.
Here are some vids of me at the latest Austin Ranbat. I got 4th, but to be honest, I thought I played like major ASS. played hella unsafe. I dont even know why im posting these.

Good job ymk, saw that vid against viet. That dude is supposedly one of the best in Austin.
Saw a bunch of errors like not punishing harder, but as far as playing aggressive it was your call and it worked out cuz you beat him. Good shit. He didn’t look like he had much DJ knowledge though.
If Veit is the best in Austin then i could be the best in Austin, or DeeJay just owns his Akuma
