It’s nice to see good DJs. The most facinating part is seeing how different our styles are. It’s hard for me to make comments or collective critism because we are so night and day and I guess that is because DJ is one of the most versatile characters in this game. I’m seeing a rush down style here, a zone style there, and a brick wall defense around the corner. Yall keep doing ya thing
Just found this
Since the Sagat matchup is being discussed at the moment, might be interesting, although this Sagat is not the mass fireball type.
that non-crossup at 0:33 was ambiguous as hell lmao
such a good thing about cancelling into mgu from jabs; even if you don’t know which side you’ll end up it’s still fine
At 2:16 you can see one of my favourite “tricks” with EX MGU - when it’s blocked, it pushes the OP away a deceptive amount. The result is that they think they can punish, when really they’re usually out of range. You can see the Sagat whiff a low kick right afterwards, so you know it doesn’t just work on scrubs. That’s why I very often throw in a slide or sobat immediately after I see MGU getting blocked.
Haha same here.
I play this one Rose pretty regularly, and I still manage to catch him with the lk sobat after a blocked EX MGU.
Got to play against Viscant’s DeeJay:
he didn’t do anything amazing.
You made a lot of mistakes.
i’m assuming you haven’t played against many deejay’s?
The jump in was perfect. If Sagat tried to TU, then Dee Jay would have crossed up. Sagat would have been stuffed or whiffed
I troll XBL with this all the time. After a blocked EX MGU I sometime go for an U2 and 8/10 times they poke something out and I get them and the 2/10 times they don’t get caught I hardly ever get a big punish for it. I love trolling XBL with that hahaha.
The video is boo boo so bare with me. This might help someone with this matchup. The balrog didn’t catch on to my style so shenanigans and tricks wasn’t need. I’ll save that for later, if we met again.

Critical analysis and tips appreciated.
Something I noticed was that you almost never blocked meaty jumpins and always went for a reversal upkick or pressed buttons, which cost you a lot of life because your opponent’s jumpins were timed really well.
Yeah, you’re right.
It also looks like I never purposefully dropped a link by blocking to bait reversals myself. Clearly I need to block more.
Also for some reason I follow EVERY SINGLE full screen fireball with a couple of dash forwards and a slide. It’s not a conscious thing so looking back I’m not really sure why I do that. Maybe to get in close with charge (because of the slide)?
I didn’t see him punishing that though so I’m not sure if it’s good or bad (or just bad because it made me super predictable).
Watching replays of yourself can be kind of mind boggling “Why did I do that?”

did the dumbest mistake ever at the end…
lol I can relate so badly… happens to all of us dude.
You pretty much corrected your mistakes from the first match. As godly lk upkick is, Ibuki can stuff it lol. You adapted and used Ex upkick instead. If you have meter and you are caught in a vortex ( this goes for Akuma and Ryu too) and you are not sure about what kind of cross up your opponent is about to do, Ex Sobait out of the situation. I hate guessing games.
The Ibuki had some flowchart patterns that I thought you would have caught on to. The fucker kept DPing after the slide. Also a random ultra after the slide lol. Ibuki was hella reversal happy. I think a few knee shots would have been great bait in the match. Sometimes you could have used st. lp after a jump in because it’s better against mashers than cr. lp. But overall you were solid.
I’ve done that quite a few times myself lol
shout out to all dee jay players out the ones i have met and the ones to meet…
damn louie. that was fucking retarded lol you did good tho.
i want to see more normal AA tho. he did generic Rog jump in timing so if you used the far HP you could have gotten the CH juggle.
edit: do you always play Rufus? Just curious because you counterpicked yourself.
