I’m using my $5 easycap to record. You get it off ebay, download AVS video recorder (just the recorder, everything else is a trial) and you’re set. If you want to set it to widescreen like i have you have to resize it in virtualdub before uploading to YT

cr.hp stuffs a lot of things, but it’s not something you do on reaction (starts up and recovers way too slow). It’s more for predictions. I just felt like being an asshole that match lol

i barely ever use the c.lp > c.mp link tbh.
good shit threi. You beasted on that vega and bison. Do you play online only?
for the most part yeah. I have played offline vs some skilled opponents but not enough to be mentionable.
anyways some of everyone’s favorite matchup:

Yeah the damage output really isn’t worth it on that. Much better to stick to c lp. c lp. > MGU or c. mk
Awesome vids though, threi, especially vs. the Ken and Vega. Request: a vid of you beating, or at least handling, a Balrog?
Cheers!
I use cr. LP > cr. MP link a lot, and the only time I ever miss it is when I want to connect sobat xx super…
heh just posted a vid vs a rog.
and no i don’t beat him, i struggle vs him just like everyone else (unless i switch to bison or rog myself that is)
yo, threi, i just watched that gief match. although you won, i don’t think you should be giving him so much ground. you walk back a little too much. try to just sit with a downback charge. any good gief, at least from the ones i play out here, will walk you straight into the corner. you’ve got to hold your ground and play more footsies.
How do you out footsie Gief? All his normals stuff everything even ex specials.
lol you beat me to it. You stick a fingernail out and get stuffed or catch a nice green hand. Sometimes I play games and front like I can do a poke or two but nothing is consistant except for cr. HP. I don’t call that a poke it’s like a anti-footsipoke ( I just made up a word, I know ). It’s a good thing that all of DJ’s AA’s is consistant against Gief. Even st. mp
here’s me on the peaceful jay stream (warning: i was pretty nervous, wasn’t playing like i usually do)
Justin.tv - Peaceful Jay’s Colosseum - Super Street Fighter IV [OPEN LOBBY] (50 mins in)
Justin.tv - Peaceful Jay’s Colosseum - Super Street Fighter IV [OPEN LOBBY] (mostly losses so there isn’t much in there)
Justin.tv - Peaceful Jay’s Colosseum - Super Street Fighter IV [OPEN LOBBY] (3 mins in)
Thanks for linking man. I saw you on the stream and was like AWESOME! But then my internet went to pot on me and the stream was just far too laggy to watch unfortunately.
watching you play zeninside made me mad. i’m glad they are getting rid of jump fierce. i hope it stays out like in the loctest
Awesome matches, threi. Only thing I would say is that you played too aggressively against the dudley at the end. I was surprised, dudley’s usually one of my easiest matchups, I find it very easy to bait jump-ins and other silly decisions with proper zoning. Excellent overall though!
yeah during the match i was like “maybe i really shouldn’t be trying so hard to get a knockdown…oh well screw it”
then i got killed lol
then later that day i perfected an equally skilled dudley player.
good shit threi. Some advice tho, u should definitely jump in more than you do after you land a c.mk or throw. The mixup off deejays short hop and ambiguous j.mk is his best tool imo. Sobatting up to them then goin into a short jab throw/sweep mixup is less damage than landing a jump in to mgu, dreadkick or ultra. And then u get extra mixups with empty jump throw or c.lk/jab.
If you do prefer to stay grounded u can give them some different looks by throwing a meaty max out and then after they block u can immediately do a sobat and if they try to jump or attack/move they get hit by the sobat. Or if its the type of person to backdash wake ups u can hit most characters with a jab option select fierce or option select ultra. Option select ultra will hit characters with slow reversals too like cody’s bingo, viper’s ex seismo, rufus messiah kick, rog headbutt and some other reversals.
I actually played the same Sim player in one of the vids i posted. you played him very well for the most part but sometimes you were just trying too hard to force your turn after you blocked something. And of course the big mistake u made at the end that u lost half ur bar. My match with him
The seth match is very tricky youve gotta take ur time to corner him and be very careful not to let him wall jump out once you do. It’s your job to get in on him but u gotta take ur time if u try to force it constantly he is gonna eat you up.
Against dudley you definitely fell into a classic deejay pattern where u were tryin hard to land a light sobat or jump in after he blocked a sweep, ex mgu or sobat you were even pressing buttons/holding up after he reset you with his anti air. I think i only saw 1 max out the entire fight. Dudley has a really hard time trying to get around deejays fireballs you have to use that to ur advantage. Patience, be cool man. Why do you use U1 for that match?
It’s a shame nashfan didnt join the room when u invited him i wouldve liked to see you fight him, thats my boy. Cheers and keep improving man I like your deejay youre doing your thing.
thanks alot verify, i do agree i was definitely overagressive and pushing for knockdowns when there wasn’t a chance to do so. Watching it again you could equate it to me “scrubbing out and turning flowchart” actually lol.
anyways here’s two more vids by request, sagat matchups:

definitely made mistakes in both of these as well, but it was a good learning experience (haven’t played haunts since vanilla)
Great matches, threi, the first one is very heartening, I think you really had the right idea… the second one was still good, although you really missed a punish at the end of the final round. That’s the thing, I think your gameplan vs. Sagat is solid, it was just little mistakes that let you down… eating a FADC throw, a wakeup TU into ultra, or missing that punish at the end. Maybe on a sharper day you could have easily had that Sagat.

Very nice play, Louie… I think your DJ’s at about the same level as mine, although we’ve got really different styles. I’m a lot less aggressive most of the time, I feel, although that’s probably part of the reason I don’t handle Guiles as well as you did. Good stuff.
