Good games DevilJin. Your Ibuki will get really good with time. Mixups and links were really good. There were a couple of things I forgot to tell you. You may have seen in the replays, but there were two patterns I noticed. After I anti-air your jump-in with cr.mp, most of the time you backdash. If I time it right, I can cr.hp the backdash. With Viper, you could probably change it up with EX Seismo and catch cr.hp. Idk for Ibuki though. Another thing was at the beginning of the match you take a couple of steps back and neutral jump probably to bait df+mk or GT at the beginning. So I did dash in and j.hk. Overall, your mixups were really solid. We gonna need to play more someday.
Cool yeah thanks for the advice. Rufus is really weird to fight because he can shift his space on the screen at like any possible frame. Really weird to deal with if u don’t play against him a lot. Especially with Ibuki who only really has so so options IMO for controlling what he does in the air. Viper handles him a little better but not by a ton. Ibuki’s only real chance is to knock him down and keep him down. Once he slips out it’s back to the whole wet soap bar shit again. I have some new shit that I’m coming up when it comes to Ibuki now that I’ve really thought about what happened. Next time I’ll probably focus on playing Viper a bit more just to get her more accustomed to Rufus. Sub Zero was telling me you always blow up his Viper at tournaments and it was weird seeing Viper actually win against your Rufus. Which is basically what I’m looking for is someone that can really pressure with Rufus.

Your opponents are all at a pretty low level, you’re getting away with too many unsafe things. I’d work on going for safer pressure strings, for instance if that Guile you fought was any good, instead of mashing tech he would have flash kick FADC’d into ultra which would have raped your dive kick pressure. There’s a reason you don’t see pro rufus players spamming divekick against characters with a DP, it’s just too risky.

Ive only watched the Balrog vid so far, but I can say that you have a good understanding on the boxer matchup and you generally played well, specially in the 2nd round of the first match. But dont use cr.lp as a pressure tool, there’s no good reason to use it, use close LK, which is much better in everything, hit confirmable, good tick throw normal and you can mix it up with divekicks, vs EX rushes I tend to bait them and either grab them, EX messiah or neutral jump Fierce them when they whiff, I saw you were getting hit by a lot of those. You tend to rely on focus a bit too much as an anti air vs boxer, dont, It is good but I prefer cr.MP vs him, because he jumps really low and it leaves him on a reset position which you can take advantage from. So bottom line, you played well and patient vs him, but you let him jump at you for free many times, dont, anti air him everytime, vs boxer you need to deal as much dmg as you can in every situation because there arent many opportunities to rush him down as you would vs other characters.
ranmasama, so far I could only watch the vs Ryu vid, but how come you never seem to combo to sLK sHP xx GT? As someone who really sucks at that link, I can’t talk much (though I do, at least, go for it, fail as I may) but I’d figure as both a tourney competitor and an otherwise excellent Rufus, it would be cake for you. Just curious. You’re definitely a better player than me, but my main critique would be to use the correct BNB. Though if I watch the rest of the vids and you do that combo all over the place, i’ll edit and apologize, though I think I remember watching some older vids of yours thinking the same thing. Dude, I am so with you on that. Do you play pad or stick or what? In the Balrog match you landed it a few times. But yeah, if that were a 3 frame link I guarantee I’d have 12k BP on XBL lol (I don’t play tournies, so please no one yell at me about how online points don’t matter. I know)
thanks. I wish I could see it for myself again. I felt so hyped after that match. I didn’t get a chance to play any of canada players. I may have played eric hai. Does he use ryu. If so, I setted up a mm for him and gamerbee lol he lost 3-1 tho. Solid ryu. I definitely would like to play canada players online if we can. Connection might be bad but might be good enough to play through it.
I also mm gamerbee. I lost 2-1. He had some overhead tricks that I should have punished him for trying but didn’t. Just a tip against gamerbee or other adon. If they go for instant overhead, do ultra 1 after blocking or even getting hit by it. I think this should work but I didn’t fully test it yet since I’m still coming back from sb.
as for playing online, a lot of us do. my tag’s on the left, js master is currently on eric’s xbl which is “ehai” for about a week or so then he’ll be back playing ryu.
As for derrace, I really dont like u2 in this match. Even for the sole reason that you cant punish teleports (cuz they have u2). I also noticed (I only watched a couple vids) that you tend to crossup in the corner against akuma. I find that staying within s mp range in the corner and not tri jumping at all after a knockdown will get them to stop teleporting (because if they teleport u can easily sweep/c hp). Also if they try to getway tatsu, you can reaction j fk into death.
But basically somethings you can do: (keep in mind you have to guess the right way if ur midscreen)
If you’re midscreen and they teleport towards the corner, u can walk right up to them and c hp as they teleport
If you’re midscreen and they teleport towards the other corner, u can c hp immediately or even jump back j hp c mk ex tornado.
teleporting akumas teleport is super easy, you just need to find out where they tend to go when they’re midscreen, if they are in the corner its better to keep them there, and if they’re dumb enough to tele, you can put yoruself in a really nice spot to punish it really hard.

1:24 = your crossup meant you couldn’t punish it, if you didn’t you could c hp or if you guessed right you could jump back and punish.
2:24 = c hp punishes that tele if u do it instantly
2:28 = c hp for sure mayyyybe sweep (either way you had a LOT of time and that should NEVER go unpunished, it’s the ideal teleport to punish imo)
2:47 = c hp again.
I only played eric hai once then. I definitely want to play both of them so i’ll be looking out for them. Also I want to play with buddahforce and chi ritty as well.
