Crap, I’m sorry, the add date was yesterday, but it’s a repost. My bad.
Taking note of the crossup MK after the Cr.MP AA.
I was contemplating using Rufus for a while(about 2-3 weeks actually.) Then, I saw Marn’s sick ass combo. I now play Rufus.
Nyanshi (Ry) vs Chuck (Ru) - TRF 05-06-2009

Cool video. A few things that stood out as sweet, 0:46 roundhouse messiah! at max range like that its -2 on hit and won’t combo into anything, but you can risk the MK or HK followup (but probably not smart against Ryu). Nonetheless, a nice discouragement for too much fireball zoning, plus you end up pretty close to your opponent.
Also 2:12, usually when I jump in with fierce I do fierce, standing fierce, fierce GT if I’m close, or fierce/sweep to commence mixups if it lands meaty enough - but if you hit fierce at max range like this, the sweep won’t combo - I need to do more MK, EX GT (or fierce GT if i’m close enough) cause turning every hit into the most damage you can is so important.
Also one thing that I’ve had progress on eliminating from my game is my predilection for trying to throw/sweep the LP shoryuken, at least online or at low/mid level they usually followup one LP shoryuken with another, but this video reminds me that the range for close fierce is surprisingly long, and if it hits it will always (I think) be comboable into fierce GT, and going for that is definitely the superior option if your opponent wants to be “like that”.
Also, 0:33, sweet ass use of far fierce. 1:35, 2:25 ouch this reminds me that if your opponent knows to shoryuken an attempted mk/hk followup, that you can apparently delay the LK followup slightly to trade with the shoryuken, though that would have only prevented the shoryuken FADC instance. I tried this the other day in a few matches but wasn’t able to time it right, another thing to work on!
I might start “trading hits” after EX messiah, just encase I cant dash back its better then eating a shoryuken fadc and you know the rest.
Lots of Rufus action at Devastation with Marn, Justin, Ricky Ortiz and Ken I.
Absolutely. Delay the lk followup to bait the SRK and trade.
But if you trade…Ryu can still get an Ultra off can’t he? I think I would rather eat the FADC since it causes him to waste 2 bars. Granted I am probably wrong haha.

This matchup is so damn hard still. Ken I sat on a LOT of meter though. Could of had some EX GT’s etc.

man I was in #capcom for most of the rufus matches and the hate for rufus in there is unbelievable
good. that means more people can’t handle him. funny cause he isnt even top tier.
dont forget that the Lk follow up causes knockdown on hit, so ryu wouldnt be able to ultra you since he wont be standing after trading hits
I knew I was forgetting something >_<
