Yea. It’s a bit hard to do because the height window is small. Try launching her up a bit higher.
Btw, you’ll whiff when you are recording.
For Yun, it works when you literally kick his ass. Cross-up windows for twins & Honda are fairly small, but at least for twins setups work better when you do it right on their wake-up (ie. when they turn around to face you)
Alright I added Rose (You weren’t kidding when you said EXACTLY at headlevel) and corrected Honda. When doing gekiro on him you need to be at exactly the same level with hondas body/face as Gen and not very low as the list implied earlier, my bad.
Oh btw, when I list them, I mean “you walk 0 frames then do Oga”, so you cannot simply go from :d: to :uf: by rolling the ball up, as it will actually go into :qcf::uf: input most of the times. So what you can do is this: go from :d:, go to :u::lk: or :mk:+, then immediately hold it in :uf:. That way you walk 0 frames. I think that’s why the Rose setup was so hard for you, unless you were doing the same thing as me, but AFAIK walking for up to 2 frames may be tolerable on most characters.
This is a lot of great info. It even sounds like some setups could work with MK if they quick rise and LK if they don’t. A lot of times you can hear your opponent mashing early if they’re going to quick rise, so if it works then you could probably decide on reaction to the sound of their mashing.
Adding a little to this, though you guys might have already noticed. The higher they are, the farther they will be on the ground, and kicking them lower makes them land closer, obviously. However, if you hit a Gekiro that puts them farther in the air than normal (like Oga -> LK Gekiro, or even a reversal LK Gekiro) then you can just juggle them lower to compensate, like kicking them in the legs instead of in the feet.
Just tried it successfully. Not sure if it’s the vertical height factor or the horizontal distance factor, but definitely there’s a need to hit the opponent in a bit lower spot. Ty for the information.
True, but hey if there’s an easier road I’ll take it especially with gen lol.
In other news, Sagat can be crossed up with the same setup as Seth but the timing on the gekiro is a little less lenient (you have to really hit him right up his ass, highest point).
So I’ve merged your list with mine into a huge one haha. I guess that’s all of them except Dhalsim and Abel. This labwork paid off a lot better than I thought it would, I was just bored and messing around tbh LOL
Oh god I always forget Juri, she’s such a ‘im in the roster but im kind of meh and no one cares’ kind of character in my eyes lol. yeah I might check out setups with teching but I’ll do that tomorrow (12 AM here now lol). Labwork highfive!
edit: fuck sagat, too unreliable since you have to take into account his wake-up and you have very few frames to actually cross-up.
I’m currently trying to reproduce the unblockable setups on Akuma and Cammy; I seem to keep failing at it.
EDIT: It doesn’t HAVE to be the absolute highest; you can go slightly lower than max.
EDIT2:
Zangief: MK Oga - juggle med-high gekiro (unblockable if you kick around his waist)
Rufus: MK Oga - juggle low-med gekiro (unblockable if your leg overlaps with his face)
Guy: MK Oga - juggle low gekiro (unblockable if your leg overlaps with his face. Whiffs on walk back if done meaty, therefore it is either an unblockable or an uncrouchable)
Juri: MK Oga - juggle low gekiro (unblockable if juri’s face overlaps/is below your kicking leg)
