Just a little note, as heated some of these posts are, we really do appreciate the input we’re getting. This is our first foray into the tournament scene so obviously, there were bound to be some bumps that need smoothing out. We’re using the feedback as best as possible to meet the requirements of every possible attendee.
Keep in mind that this event isn’t just to provide a tourney scene but to also guage and discover interest in other titles. So please, show your support by coming out and voice your opinion. I have high hopes for the Ottawa scene if not the Canadian scene overall.
Well now that the rage has been put aside we can look forward to an exciting tournament. Is there gonna be any recording of the matches, just out of curiosity?
Oh well not like anyone would actually wanna watch my gameplay, and logan why did you have to specify that it was an iphone? Why you styling on us broke brothers with old school sony ericssons?
We are doing our best to accommodate everyone. Hopefully we will have enough room (which I think we will for this event anyway) to be able to host the MvC station. But if there isn’t room you will have to sit on your hands for a bit until the venue dies down. Hopefully this won’t take too long considering the number of stations we plan on having.
We are trying to gather as much interest for these monthly tournaments as we can, but do try to understand that we are trying to host tournaments and that we want to keep the on side stuff as minimal as possible at these things. But this is the sort of input we need to in order to continue to host things for you guys, so good or bad, rage or not, we are listening to it and taking notes.
is there gonna be a HDR setup also?
from a customer point of view, i want more games than just SSF4, betweent matches i might want some MVC2 or HDR or BBCS or alcohol on the side to keep me from getting bored. cuz im not paying $5 just to go there and look at ppl playing SSF4. Nemesis had 5-6 different games types (Tekken, MVC, HDR, BBCS…etc) going on at same time, all ran by volunteers and SSF4 main event did not get slow down or side tracked. you guys have more space than FOONZO from what im reading. so whats the prob?
Well its their first one, im guessing they don’t wanna spread themselves to thin on their first attempt. Since they want it to be a monthly thing lets try to support it even if it doesn’t carry games that we want at the moment and hopefully with time they will be able to carry a lot more games.
one of the things we absolutely want to do is an event focusing on the previous generation of current fighting games… 3 man teams, MvC, MvC2 and MvC3 bo3 go! lol… but that’s for another day
looks like w have one more full car coming in from out of town for brawl
whats with all these non sense drama, put up some money or shut the Fcuk up. In speaking of MM, who wants to MM me? I still haven’t got a MM yet why Ottawa so free like their hockey team
We realize that by having more games that we will obviously attract more people. But it is a tournament focused event and not just a gathering of gamers (that’s for a different event we have planned). On top of that, as a couple of people have mentioned, we are new, it’s our first non-social event and we are trying to make these a monthly occurrence. If we see that a whole bunch of people come and that everyone seems to be clamouring for a certain game then we will obviously consider introducing it at the next event. Part of our hesistance towards allowing so many casual setups is our uncertainancy about how the venue will hold when setup properly and attendance factors. Once we get this first one done we will at least have something to go on for the future ones and we will have the knowledge of the venue and attendance numbers to reasonably know whether or not we can introduce another casual setup or tournament.
We’re closing in fast on the date though and I know my GO crew is getting excited for it.
