damn, this thread is too much. i couldn’t read that last long post, imma have to cme back for that. I’d like to to augusta, but I’m not sure if i’m free next weekend. let’s kil some of this drama though. The trash talking is good, but some of this stuff is unjust.
For the record, the staff they hired to create the EX series was mostly composed of the exact same people who made SF2.
If the creators of SF2 aren’t the “right” staff to create a SF game, then I wonder who exactly is?
:lol:like never i been on twice cause i dont have an ethernet cable long enough to my router but im about to buy one, why:lol:
wanton im still gonna buy that card off you and thanks.
Am I the only one that doesn’t think (which shouldn’t be confused with “doesn’t want”) Marvel will work online? Lag’ll just destroy all things in that game. I really want it to work because this would be a great thing for the game, but I don’t see it being a huge success, online-playing-wise.
Any input?
Waba weeklies are still alive and going. That’s crazy . Good shit to everyone I met and played today.
Interesting fact - on the 2nd day of Impact Clash, we were stuck playing on that big flat screen instead of the one we were playing on the front wall the first time.
At first I thought it was awesome.
Until I figured out the flat screen was not fit for Marvel and we had lag, not to mention the perception screwed by the stretched out sprites. It really messes up your game, distance, hitconfirm, zoning; its like I was playing a different title.
Its the first time at a tourney I actually gave up a television and left to go do something else, I couldn’t play like that.
I dont play Marvel but I think that any game with that game’s popularity will achieve online success regardless of lag. People will play regardless. Just my opinion.

I don’t really like online play. I’m only excited about this rehash because I love Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but the Dreamcast is just not a system I can use for fighters because of the lack of availability for a good stick.
good shit @ waba. hey yo Wanton, good ass rounds in EX3. that skull guy isn’t to be fucked with. i’ve never seen so much off the wall shit like that before. i got recorded vids of a shit load of fights sf4 from the main xbox (had the vids of EX4, but they got overwritten by accident), so i’ll upload the raws on my youtube. i might condense/edit/add names later, but everyone pretty much will know that rufus = eddie, balrog = metalmike, scrub sakura = me, scrub ryu = dirty, guile = branh, chunli = nanya or the other good chunli player (forgot name, my bad), wanton = ken, etc.
edit: the vids are big as hell, so got 2 queued to upload tonight… not sure if they’ll be automatically put up after they upload of if i have to click next, etc, but they should be up by the morning.
I played Rufus, Sagat, Honda, Ryu, and Zangief at Waba
Alright you bunch of non-sucka free tricks, SF4 will be in my muthafuckin hands Wednesday.

All up in that ass Ga, all up in it.(All Homo, Lobelia)

Wow.
And there is probably no game you could beat me in either. I know the type of player you are. People don’t go ga ga over my skills. I’m old school, I’m all about reaction time, and distancing, and of course defense. And oh yeah, strategy. None of which you have. Again, you still try to insult me. Feelings salty. Anyway, whenever you do come back to Atlanta, I’m going to totally murder you in Guilty Gear, a game you pride. And unless you’re levels better than you were at IC3, I really doubt you stand a chance.
You play Alpha 2 as well right? No money, just need to teach newbs like you your place in the world.

Stop acting as if you register on my radar.

And stop acting like you know how to play anything. I mean we can fuck around all day. I’ve seen your match videos. I mean it doesn’t matter what game it is. All you do is try to jump and dash and do a combo. And going to somehow get beat by that? And someone who does that is suppose to be the authority on fighting games, and their opinion is suppose to count. Dude, you’re sorry, but you think you’re good. And since you have no clue of your limitations, you’ll obvious never get better. You already know everything afterall.
Okay I can come on this board and talk shit. But I know my limitations. I don’t state them, but I know them. You obviously don’t yours.
No you criticize Street Fighter, but you know nothing about Street Fighter basics or fundamentals. And despite Eddie’s snide remarks. SF4 IS about footsies. Not that you know what those are. Because getting hit by random reversals means you clearly don’t know what the fuck you’re doing in a Street Fighter game. Execution is only one aspect of Street Fighter, and just because SFIV gives easier inputs doesn’t mean it’s newbie friendly.
Fuck, I can say the same about 3s, which in your mind is probably a hardcore game. Hell I take it a step further and say Guilty Gear. Do you realize how easy inputs are in those games compared to older Fighting games. Tiger knees in Guilty Gear are a breeze. 30 minutes in training mode will pretty much get you doing it 100%. IAD, bnb, gattling combos? Dude I can teach a scrub that in a week.
Execution does not equal user friendly. Because pro players rely on their mind and not execution to win a match. That’s your stronger tool in any fighting game, and what SFIV is all about. So flowcharts can reversal SRK all day if they want, but they aren’t beating anyone who has better mindgames.
And Tech, mindgames is what any FG is all about. First their are basics, then there are is the foundation, then the execution. After all of that is done, you need to start to invent and think. I’m sure fundamentally you understand mindgames. But you NEVER apply them to matches. That’s what I’ve noticed in your vids, and I have watched a few of them.
You only win if you can out execute someone. Of course people like me with bad execution will never lose to someone like you though. Because I know what I need to know, but I’m almost always 3 steps ahead of people like you.
Sorry for the bad digression. The point is, you suck. In Street Fighter 4, in Marvel, in anything you touch. I’m not saying you probably don’t love fighting games. But you’re simply a newbie with execution. And somehow you think being able to execute makes you less of a newbie, but it doesn’t. You don’t really know enough of what you’re doing to really give a breakdown of why SFIV sucks. And any reason you’ve given is superficial at best, and clearly shows that you don’t “get it”.
And on a side note. You say you like to play for fun. Okay, this makes you a casual gamer. Because you only play games that appeal to your casual interest. You really can’t say why SFIV sucks, because you don’t play competitively. And because you haven’t, you haven’t really gotten deep into a game’s system mechanics to say what makes a game playable or not.
Because you aren't competitively and only casual. I doubt you take time to really become good in any game. Knowing a character's BNB and a few rudimentary oki traps or combos doesn't give you knowledge of a game or a character. When you can start talking about frame data, matchup ratios, mixup options, and mixup trees. Then I would take you a little more seriously. Honestly do you know matchup charts in anything you play? Do you know anything about a chracter's frame data? How about hitboxes?
Probably not, because casual gamers don’t bother with these details. But what makes a game bad from a competitively standpoint are bad hitboxes, skewed matchup ratios, poor options in any given situation (messed up option trees), and risk/rewards per each situation. Competitively a game is mathematically fucked up.
Now if SFIV isn’t fun, then well I can understand that. Hey it’s your opinion afterall. But when you try to go into all of these details about how the game isn’t solid or great competitively or even “newbie friendly”, then I take exception to. I wouldn’t even be able to use Guile or Dhalsim in games like 3s. Because based on their position on the tier list, they would be several points below the top tier. But Dhalsim and Guile are perfectly competitive characters. Definitely are able to still win tournaments in this day and time of the game. And because you can win a tournament with any character. For me it gives the game far more dynamics at high level then a lot of games.
competition is about science and not opinions. And the numbers say that SFIV is a sound competitive game. Go ahead and give me the numbers for SFEX3 and tell me if they’re better. You can’t play better theory fighter than me.
I still think it’s hilarious how you think me not giving a damn about you is automatically an insult. Are you that desperate for attention?
I’ve said this a thousand times and I’ll say it again. Anyone who uses the term “casual gamer” as an insult is either twelve years old(possibly younger), a complete jackass, or both.
Which one are you?
dude those ex3 matches were too good, branh was straight owing in that shit
Overall waba was a fucking blast yesterday. Those weeklies are getting fun. I finally pulled off a crossover air ex tatsu to ultra in a match. yay me!
edit: Ice, i wish I could go with y’all, I wouldn’t do much at the tourney but I have a feeling it’s gonna be fun as hell on that trip
