(GA Thread) We punch fools in the FACE!

Wow Joel. Wow.

:rofl::rofl: Too funny, If I could rep people i would give you good rep.

If I could rep people, I would definitely neg rep you.

:rofl: Tell him Mike. And yes, Brahn you made a very false statement when you said that you were the only one in GA that doesnt smoke weed. I got offended at that comment becasuse I DONT smoke weed. Who does that shit anyways?? Only retards I guess.

We’re gonna need a new thread soon already… I loooove the ga thread. First thing I check everytime I’m online. I may not make the tourney @ waba since I can’t be there till 4 but I’ll at least be up there for casuals and shit. Mike, what went down at METALRound I really is the kind of stuff we need more of. I think everyone benefits level up wise on those kind of nights. Some of us more than others. I don’t know that Jason got better beating the hell out of most of us anymore than he would of got in training mode but it helped me a lot. I didn’t realize how beast that dude was,

Hey are you coming to Waba. I can bring that poker set if you are.

spending time with my mom today.

Hey joel how has your Sagat been? When I come back from jamaica I definitely want that rematch from the time you beat me at gamestop.

On another note… Happy Mother’s day to all y’all moms…

Tech Romancer you are becomign a douche

BranH basically summed up the point I wanted to make about tech in his post #80

Tech went from argueing his distaste for the game to taking shots at BranH a person who he has YET to face in any of his so called most played games, he placed his name in his posts multiple times for what reason???

I am not saying its completely right when I do it BUT when I have done it, it’s usually along the lines of the point I am trying to make in regards TOO Branh, I’ve played the man numerous times,I’ve seen him play numerous times, my 2 cents would be a bit more valid when i post, then it would be coming from a guy in Dalton Ga who doesn’t play anybody, Including BranH.

Another point branH has brought up is what Tech doesn’t ever touch base on which is… What is the point you are making to make EX Street Fighter Titles so much more likeable, Playable, than SF4???

He has yet to actually ANSWER this question, also playing it a few times at a friends house or on the college campus does not constitute you actually KNOWING the actual depth of a game, Metalmkie, Neto, Jason L, Dr.Eek and myself were trying to explain to D.A.H similar situations, I know D.A.H. has been playing street fighter games LONGER than me, so the knowledge he has from previous games he has attempted to insert into his SF4 play since he does not own the game, I have tried numerous times to explain that some things just no longer work due to the mechanics being changed or due to offensive additions, also attempted to explain what things he thinks have been nurfed are still pretty solid, just no so blatant and out in the open for everyone to see (such as sakura’s crouching fierce)

Whooptie damn do you still missing the what everyone is saying… remember YOU CAME INTO THE GA THREAD and straight dissed SF4… we didn’t attack you or anything you played, so of course those who like the game felt the need to defend the game they currently play, you used EX Street fighter as a game to I guess compare SF4, the mechanics and saying it is in a lower grade… with what proof is what we are asking, how can you label EX anything other than what it was already labeled huh??

How was my statement not valid… first of all compare all the things you HATE about SF4 to CvS2 as a game unfolds SF4 causes you to be more active, where in CvS2 you can do alot of camping and just butchering Roll Cancel even when the time ISN’T right, Those who play CvS2 can give you more on it’s basis than I can but YOU brought it up not me, Look at and post your reasons for NOT liking SF4 and I bet you could come up with the same reasons as to NOT LIKE CvS2.
I can give two shits and a cup of monkey piss about you having sentimental values towards CvS2 DUDE THAT DON’T MAKE A VALID FUCKING ARGUEMENT

WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY… WHAT MAKES WHAT YOU DISLIKE ABOUT IT SO VALID!!!
This is what I keep driving at and you continue to make these long and irrelevant posts about your sentimental values and bogus bull shit

This is whats pissing me the fuck off, YOU BROUGHT UP EX in a previous thread COMPARING it’s play style, it’s competitiveness to SF4, you posted in your own words basically you would play that game over SF4… SO WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU POSTING OTHER PEOPLE’s SKILLS AND VIDEOS AND NOT YOUR FUCKING OWN???
What’s the point of you coming in here and saying all this shit about EX yet you can’t even show us you play the game, now, back the, in the quantum leap future, you showing us videos of people who do NOT post in this thread, who did not pose the arguement of SF4 v.s. EX Street Fighters is totally irrelevant, so what they are good… what makes the game better in your eyes and why… that’s the damn question you keep avoiding!!!

WTF does this mean… of course the game seems a bit easy… the makers changed the motion sensor ability for the past few street fighters created or revamped for next gen system were edited that way to APPEAL to the new up in coming audience DUH… it was written/typed in all the articles BEFORE the games were released… that’s not a valid reason to dislike the game.

Wow.

Okay. Two things, I apologized in my post about you because I felt I was nasty by using Iceman’s post about you as part of my joke. I found it funny, but it wasn’t an excuse for doing what I did.

I don’t take you seriously in fighting games. And I don’t see any reason to. I never said you sucked or were bad or whatever, I don’t give you that much thought.

Stop acting as if you register on my radar.

You don’t debunk anything about SF4. You say its about fundamentals, which basically says its basic and mechanic wise stripped down. You say its not newb friendly? Have you noticed all of the 2009 members joining? You say Sanford and Justin play it and that makes it good?

I spoke to Justin at Impact Clash on a few issues, besides basically giving me the drive to continue using my low-tier team, I questioned to him about newer game coming out, their obvious focus to the casual crowd and hence their removal of aspects that made earlier titles more to my liking (said he hated SSB, SCIV, etc.). He surprisingly, agreed with me, but he also plays those games anyway because he knows he can win at them. It doesn’t matter if you like a game or not to him, as long he is victorious.

He probably likes SF4, I won’t argue that but to say that because big names play a game = them endorsing it is obviously not true. They play to win. I play to have fun.

The rest of your nonsense is barely worth a post. No-one is a rebel, no-one is self-gratifying, no-one has implied anything, the reason I brought up discussions on it in the past was to show people that EX3 did it better in my opinion and to inquire what about SF4 they liked so much. I didn’t really get any answers. This time I just jokingly trolled about it for fun, nothing past that. It is really no longer a big deal; I don’t play it, don’t like but I don’t purport to impose that on other people, just talked about, discussed it.

Digital Warlord, get the premium and start neg repping away. I like the red bar because it matches with my avatar, other than that rep either way doesn’t mean anything to me.

EX and Im reasons for dislike

Ok first of all look at the damn game… everyone who knows me knows I played Tekken.

Look at the last EX Street Fighter vid Tech posted:

One of the reasons I disliked this series is because… It’s like they attempted to make the leap to 3D and didn’t higher the right staff in order to create the game.
It also played like a faster tekken tag game, to much jumping, to much tap tap hopeing to get a jungle, that I think is one of the major reasons Pokchop a.k.a. Lil’Ricky Liked this game back then, it’s similarity to Tekken Tag.

I didn’t like the super cancel idea because I was traditional and everyone who knows me from back then I kept versus games from traditional, I didn’t even play smash or marvel in the same DAY as CvS2 as many times as we hung out a syminite’s house for casuals.

If the anti-air system was anywhere near where it was in the days of 3rd strike or something i would have continued to play, in that game the slow jump ins were butchered with super cancels which took away from a legit counter system in my eyes which made the game un-even… no bar no way to stop penetration, no bar you cannot compete I hate games like that.

SF4 you can still compete even when you have no bar… yes if your opponent has one and you do not it makes the opponent more feared, the ability Ryu has along with Sagat doesn’t sum up the entire game and make it a valid reason to dis the game in it’s entirety, if that were the case that’s why i made the point about YOU wanting to LEARN MARVEL, that shit just does not compute to me dude at all.

The creaters making the game easier by shortening the motion system, making it easier to do a 360 with Gief doesn’t make the game broken or sucky, it actually brings in yet another audience, Tech Romancer outside CvS2 and EX i haven’t seen you play or say you’ve played ANY OTHER Versions of street fighter on a competitive level, so your comparisons are what I judge your arguement upon andis why I say they are otherwise neither here nor there.

Justin Wong not liking a game doesn’t constitute the game being garbage BESIDES when has Justin Wong been so solid in those 3D games where in he could be put on a higher post then the entire state of Ga or those who have won MULTIPLE championships in 3D gaming???
People ride that mans dick so hard you don’t even come with facts, So what he is good in 2D, So what he has won championships in OTHER games but why would you ask HIM about a genre of gaming… he himself isn’t really good in, why not ask the best of the best, the most consistant in that genre, rather than some one who plays it casually for the money and not for the love of the game. the most loyal to the series ATL has been solid in 3D gaming EVERY WHERE we’ve gone, and we get ragged on about it til’ this day, people use the excuse oh it’s the game to justify there in-ability to hang with Ga on that platform, now that we are going back to our roots, we got a guy like you who’s not trying to play or get good int he game, snuffing that with your little, This game isn’t really good posts all for what… FOR FUCKING WHAT

I love the Street Fighter EX series, but I don’t see it being as good as SF4.

Question:

This is open to the entire community… EVERYONE.

Myself, Jason L, Neto, mike were discussing the Augusta Tournament next weekend, i have already put in for that saturday off along with thursday and friday night.

If you are interested in attending I came up with the idea of just car pooling… I can get a van at the group rate as if we were attending an out of state tournament.
I really want this to happen so give me feed back, this invitation is open to all parties interested…

EXCEPT BRANH LMAO !!!

I was joking when i said the comment about BranH, mainly because a discussion we had at Metal-Round #1

Happy Mother Day to all the mothers in the world… Make sure to spent time with your mother cause you only get 1…

If I’m not mistaken, it’s slated for release in early July.

Yo, let me hop in on that, we can use my car!

Alright, Cool Breeze, fair enough.

You laid out what you don’t like about EX in comparison to SF4, I’ll do the same then I’ll leave it alone.

I understand the lenient inputs and how they’re bringing in new players, but I do not agree with Sirlin’s view on how inputs should be made easier because its more important to know what to do and when. My problem with it arises because the shortcuts allow players to pull off maneuvers (like :dp:) far easier than it should be; I believe getting good at execution is a big factor of fighting games and that if the game is going to be competitive there should be a option (at least) to tweak this. Why bother keeping the motions if the shortcuts more or less undermine the difficulty in doing it?

Why the lenient time window for wake-up reversals and options. This is one things I like about CvS2, the mind games associated with the frame window given allowed for some heated battles, had to have a good yomi in many cases or be forced on defense again. With SF4 I and the opponent have too much time to just wait and far too much leniency for entering in my dp command/reversal and then since the shortcuts were implemented, its not to difficult to mess up. It doesn’t feel as risky as should.

The revenge system is not too big a deal; in fact its pretty reminiscent of K-groove BS and ST. My problem, like those games, is that is acts like a crutch to catch you should you not be on your game. Its not so much the problem that they can hit you (the start-up animation makes it obvious in some cases and you can block). It somewhat destroys the point of getting a fair lead, because you think, “Well I know that revenge meter is going to flair up when my health drops”. It seems a bit to scrubby to me to implement something like that.

I don’t appreciate many characters (like Akuma) losing their multiple supers. In some cases, EX kinda replaces their purpose, but overall I would prefer to manage my meter for something more solidifying in the match. I also think that the multiple supers would allow more diverse playing styles and answers to their gameplay. One of the characters I feel is too limited by this is Rose. In my case, I would rather work on my in-game and combo into Shoryu super or Super projectile options rather than having two versions of raging demon.

Similarly, why are combo option trees so linear and restricted? Like Gen losing his hunter series. Other people not being able to link mps and lks like alpha or even CvS2. Stuff like the range of shoto 5HP being reduced so I its no longer as viable to link stuff such as Hurricane kick. So much bnb is lp,lp limited or when it comes to “pressure”. D44 was awesome in making some of the most creative blockstrings with Akuma in various other games, but in this its shortened to make creativity almost non-existent. There’s a few things like Chun’s air stuff and linking Sakura’ s stuff, but its not enough.

I’ve always taken issue with games that use two-button command grabs in some way or another because they tend to take priority over normals (which should not happen) and the recovery for a whiff seems too brief. I should not be fucking grabbed out of normal as its about to hit my opponents face. Period.

Where is the blockstun in this game? It makes blockstrings/guessing games less relevant, which is why many characters reliable form of offense seems to branch out from lp,lp…characters have also lost some bufferable options off their normals (where is my HK XX fireball buffer ). Also picks seem less effective as well and I miss many of the design changes to many normals (much rather prefer Akuma’s 5HK in earlier games as opposed to the two-hit thing here, same thing with some of Zangief’s normals, such as 2MP, almost useless for anti-air now, not that it matters since gief is too easy in this game).

Why was anti-air priority reduced? I’m a casual Guile player, its kind of sad to find flash kick is less practical for anti-air than 5HP, or even 2MP. Combo purposes I guess? Why do I have to spend meter for EX versions (except Sagat) to grantee they do their purpose? Hell, I’ve seen Ken’s normally god-like shoryuken trade with my Akuma’s divekick which should not happen.

On this note, why is the threshold for remaining airborne so lenient? I’ve seen too many examples of utilizing jumps as means of forward movement and its significantly less dangerous than it should be in a game without airblock and multiple options for AA.

Stuff like that. And its as if they felt simplifying controls was not enough and that things had to be significantly more linear. It does not hold my attention, because almost every character match-up plays the same (barring player mindsets). You bash CvS2, but in that game grooves, ratios, larger character selection allowed match-ups to be handled in a variety of ways. And then this of course extends to combo trees, playstyles as well.

That’s a big reason I like EX. Its very open-ended. The team did not have to worry about catering to the crowd we have in abundance now, so more creativity was permitted. I love being able to manage super bars in those games, gives it a level of depth not like SF4 where one uses it on EX most of the time. Also, you don’t need meter all of the time to stay in the game, characters have a variety of links and combos that do just fine without meter. And the classic SF gameplay barring that is still there, footsies, zoning, baiting, cornering. And the cast is bigger and more diverse, making for a more exciting metagame (love some of Akira playstyles).

Each of the three titles offers something different to the core system. EX/Plus/Alpha is pretty much Alpha series with no airblock, supercanceling, larger link library. EX2/Plus is basically Alpha with even more characters and adds the Custom Combo, EX3 is the engine with more mechanics added, such as momentary cancel and of course the tag feature, which is really variable and something you can truly make your own.

You bash me for learning Marvel. I don’t speak up for the game a lot, actually. Its unbalanced, people whore god/top tier way too much, a lot of glitches, some of the cast is extremely redundant, etc. But it allows me options to make it open-ended and play, create combos, assist strategies as I please. Same thing with Arcana Heart. Yeah, its a bit tier-whoring as well but the arcanas, diverse characters, homing system allow you to do so much and play so open-ended in that title. SF4’s is too limited, too noob friendly in comparison to what else is available for it to hold my attention. There doesn’t seem anything to really find or explore or innovate in the game. Its pretty regimented and the developers seem to have gone as far as possible in making everything laid out for you.

and stuff like that.
