MK9 Is a fine Divine piece of work. Unlike games that do surpass it, it prevails as a complete package. It has been a while since i’ve played a fighting game that was Fun, and had reasons to play it as far as unlockables. I found myself coming up with kewl combos one minute, then going to hop in the story mode, and back to challenge mode. Saying to myself im about to put in “Random Game Title with Marvel Characters” and before i knew it, it was time for bed. This is a big (IMO) post. That a lone is what a couple of other game companies can take from. When they said reboot they really rebooted MK8 and under before UMK3 was some bull i admit. But shaolin monks series was off the chain and i think they set a New Beat-up standard that was slept on. I feel this was done with Mk9. I think its deeper than seen on the surface, SF4 was fun to me in the beginning until it became SF4: Camp and Footsies edition. I play all fighters and get better than the average bear at somepoint. Even the arcana heart series, i guess im just a gamer but i feel like that gamer expertise alone wont let me agree with MK still being in the Hole they dug over the years. Holla at yer boy on PSN.

they are really reachin’ out to expand the AH3 player base, and the game has only been out in the US less than a week:clapdos:
So guys lets talk about offense in MK9
Most highs are duck-able and if they aren’t they can be blocked low
Can’t find any mids aside from jumping punches, jumping kicks hit high and can be blocked low (Tested with Ermac and Stryker)
Throws can’t be ducked
Throws can’t be teched if you’re holding block (You can circumvent this by releasing block after being grabbed then teching)
Unlike previous games lows can be cancelled, but you really can’t get much out of this
Neither of Ermac/Stryker have a command throw, big damage comes from duck-able highs and you can’t get combos off lows. Now the question: how do I break defense? If my only mid is j.Punch what stops the opponent from blocking high when I jump then switching to low to avoid all my ground normals. The best option seems to be throw, but it looks like there’s a big enough window to tech on reaction; even if I do get the throw that all I’m getting.
Where’s the mix-up? How can you break defense? The best chip string looks like j.P c.K xx Special. Is that and throw the best rewards I get on offense?
EDIT: Started using the command list to look at command normals Ermac’s up+bk is mid and b+bp full charge is unblockable. Stryker’s only mid is b+fk bp.
Going to look to other characters for better mix-up options.
