its fucking 420 light one up
me & my quantum tunneling device are too busy doing SCIENCE(<3) to engage in mortal kombat
Yeah, Georgia plays all those weeaboo games too, where every character’s BnB has 50 hits and 400 button inputs.
Did someone say weaboo games?!?!?
man, those games are full of lies! No matter what you may think, the cake IS a lie! :razzy:
@People saying I am hypocritical - just because it is NOT capcom or namco does not mean i will play it. i am NOT lowering my standards. the game actually has to be GOOD, which is why i won’t play MK9. I was referencing GOOD games when i said what I said about GA needing to play and think outside of the box. As a life lesson, BAD things start to happen when people lower their standards. From gaming to relationships, keep your standards high, gentlemen.
@Chris - Lol, I suppose I can’t relate my every day life to Scorpion’s like some gross-ass people can. Ya got me, Chris, lol.
I’m just like Raiden every minute of every day. It’s hard being this awesome.
Hell naw son, you road my back about MvC3 and my standards on on it…now…
WITHOUT TOUCHING IT…
You saying fudge it… see see your mean son, straight mean son
@ Anotak
Gotta agree with you man. That game needs to get alot of love. Especially since it will actually be playable online (ggpo netcode)
@ Dr. Eek
The guide is shitty. No frame data, no damage numbers. Overall really weak stuff.
And the so called tier list that the guide talks about is complete bs imo. The guide talks about matchups as basically: if character 1 can throw fireballs better than character 2, then character 1 is better.
I was really disappointed by it. The marvel 3 guide is how it should be done
@ Spooky
I wish I was unraveling the mysteries of the universe tonight instead of being at work o_O
i HAVE played it, though, and from what I played, the game was mediocre to poor, as i thought it would be. it is good for an MK game, but that’s like saying that some random dog’s feces smells nice for a turd. face it, that series has dug itself a hole that should have buried it quite a ways back. but, as i said, the only reason these people make money is feeding off of some people’s thirst for blood and gore. they even admitted it in the interview thing Keits posted. as i said, i will give the game a chance, meaning that i will select a character and try to get good with them. and, if i legitimately enjoy it and think it is a good game, i will say i was wrong. however, i have the distinct feeling that i won’t be saying that any time soon…
I have unblockable setups IRL, bitches never see it coming.
I don’t know what you’re talking about Marty, MK9 is the grossest game ever. Almost as gross as this game’s going to be http://www.vgboxart.com/boxes/PS3/27577_killer_instinct_3-v2.png
That is some real shit I’m saving on quotes on facebook.
“good games” is relative. There are some games that are bad from a technical perspective. Once the technical perspective is all taken care of, then it’s really just a matter of taste. While some people think they have more informed opinions than others, in terms of games it’s really not the case. A game that may not be competitive but maintains a good fun factor is a well made game regardless. Doesn’t mean standards are lowered. Standards in terms of gaming is mainly an elitest term, and maybe some level of elitism should only be applied to the competitive sphere. However there is really no measure on what people will enjoy.
SVC Chaos is a poorly made game on too many levels. You can almost objectively call it bad. It fails to do anything right in terms of sound and graphics, or even hit detection. It’s a rushed game, and it has a gameplay system that shoots itself in the foot. That’s poor software design.
Mk9, from the looks of it is good software design. Bugs are naturally going to show up in a complex piece of software. But I’m assuming it’s fun, which was it’s intended purpose. Nothing more needs to be said about it. It meets market standards with it competitors, and surpass them in many cases. As a offering without competitive baggage it’s fine.
Poor software is a database system that doesn’t work. You can rightfully call it bad if it doesn’t do it’s intended purpose well.
Unlike productivity software, games are actually intended to be fun. Which is of course all relative. This game may not shine competitively (I don’t think it will), but it’s well made.
For someone who has worked in software for 10 years, I have a more even handed view about what’s good and bad software.
i’ll make sure not to approach you when you have meter, then…
Andrew, the LAST thing this world needs is another 9/11. why would you show a picture of future events we want to avoid? in all honesty, if that travesty actually manifested, i bet the case would look that bad and the game would just look like KI 1 or 2.
Well, I suppose that if you assume that I was only talking about a competitive aspect of this game, as I see you did, then I suppose we could just end it here. However…
I feel that MK9 is just about as slow, clunky, and awkward feeling as any of the other MK games. The producers said themselves that they were mainly trying to appeal to their old demographic : people who love blood and gore to an almost dangerous point. Plus, since it is an old demographic, they want to keep to what originally got them their sales : a slow, clunky, awkward, gory fighting game.
I suppose the cop-out of “it’s my opinion” can fly for now. I could argue how opinions are not untouchable, even in taste of games, but I don’t want to type that much. From your reasoning, every game ever made has been “good”, which is simply ludicrous to think.
Also, your experience in software is noted, but not really important in this discussion, as it does not take any expertise to see that this game has not really surpassed its competitors in anything relevant except adding more cinematics to an already abysmally weak story. Nor are you a game developer. To be fair, I have not tested its online play, which the developers said was supposed to be their strong point of the game. I am genuinely curious to know how good the online play is. So far as everything else about the game, the competitive aspect of it is weaker (i.e. system direction, etc.), the game is much more awkward than its competitors in the market currently. Again, the game is trying to hit a certain client base, and that’s what it did. Kudos to MK9 for that much.
Things can sell well, be popular, and still be bad. My classic examples of this are the overwhelming amount of people who do cocaine on a daily basis, or the amount of people who bought Crackdown 2.
Anyone else find Mortal Kombat easier to play on pad than stick? Its like, I can play UMK3 on stick, but for some reason I can’t play this game for anything on a stick lol.
Where my MK/MvC3/ssf4 getties at? I know someone is thinking about it or as it in the works. Btw i’m calling it Jaxs is worst character in the game n Ermac is the Wesker of mk9.
Ok paul so for WeiBBBB, my basic stuff is pretty damaging and its relatively simple.
As long as you have a normal 6d, (meaning you’re not using time) the combos are:
5abc, 6c > 236a > 6hc, jc, j.b j.4b, jc, j.b j.e
(instead of j.e, you can also do j.c (2 hits) into 623c because it launches your opponent high into the air, giving you enough time to equip sword. 22x)
5abc 6c >236a > EFC 5b4b5bc, jc, j.b j.e j.b, jc, j.b j.e
If you don’t have meter or don’t want to use it, just hit confirm into 2c or 4b into sword equip. She’s so much better with the sword… Does anyone know if her sword hitbox has clash? I doubt you can footsie the sword.
ab2c >22x (or…) ab5c4b > 22x
Hope this helps.
arcana crack 3 lives up to its name >.<
i need to learn the game though
come to gatech then. i will teach. what characters are you interested in and I’ll make sure I can give a good briefing.
